We had room with balcony great views over the Port and the city. All staff I had dealings with were polite and helpful. The only negative, computers went down when checking-in, quite a long line and took quite a while to get to room after a long flight from London, I guess that was a one off. Overall pleased with hotel

Staff very friendly. Food and drinks a little pricey. This was one of the nicest stays I have ever had at a hotel and I stay at a lot of hotels! Rooms were great - staff was awesome - I truly enjoyed the hotel and all of it's amenities.

not close to south beach . driving its a good 15min with no traffic. good thing about the hotel was that you could walk about a block down to the bus station and take the "s" bus to south beach(not safe at night) but it took me 25min on the bus to get there.the cabs are $22 to the airport the airport is about 15 min away.room service is really expensive.there is nothing around the hotel to do or eat except for what is inside the hotel .the hotel put a hold of $50 on my card even though i did not use anything in the room and pre-paid for everything thru travel website.fridge in room is only opened if you use it as a mini bar so no fridge is available the ice machine is near elevator too far of a walk!!!the restaurants and the couple of stores that they have are expensive and sell mostly overpriced ugly stuff!!!restaurants in the hotel are overpriced, there is a small deli in the hotel but that is expensive too and the food is not good either.the rooms are all outdated with furniture that the hotel mngr claimed was a beachy and updated look, not at all they were discolored and all scratched!!!the bed was very comfortable, the bay view was very pretty, the housekeeping was very good!! and the room was very comfortable and big.make sure to ask for a room near the elevator otherwise plan to walk about 1/4 mile to get to the elevators.the pool was ok,clean.never used it!!there is a nice bar downstairs outside in a patio area with places to sit and the bay right in front of you, that was nice!hotel connects to the marriott next door which shares the facilities/restr conciege tour of miami worth it!!!no breakfast included!!

30/day to park with no real options offered. You can park on the streets nearby but that is not really an option in my opinion. Charge for Internet in room unless you are a Hilton's member. Bellstaff and Valets do not report to Hotel management and they were incredibly rude and non-responsive to requests for assistance. There is one elevator and some rooms are VERY far away from them. It is a beautiful location and the restaurants were great but that did not make up for other problems. I lived in Miami previously and also have worked in hotels here and found the Customer Service in this property severely lacking. We are in town, over Christmas, because my father was rushed to the hospital here on Dec. 21st. - I thought we got lucky when we found this "good buy" but it has just made an already difficult trip almost unbearable.

The hotel room wasn't that clean, the sheets were a little dirty. No one cleaned our room for the two days. Had to call three times for towels and toilet paper. The pool was ok.

This hotel is located in a great spot near many places. We booked this hotel because we were taking the caribbean cruise and thought it was close enough to the port where we could walk. It is close within driving distance, but way too far to walk with luggage. The only problem with this hotel is the parking and you have to pay 24.00 for a valet to park it. Other than that this hotel is beautiful. It is about 10 minutes from Miami and South Beach and other areas of interest. The hotel has tons of shops, restaurants and activities on the premises. The pool and spas are beautiful and they have an amazing view of the port and city.

Hotel is overlooking Biscayne Bay we had a great room over looking the marina. The Pools were clean and warm. The staff was friendly and very helpful. In the main concourse were good places to eat and a car rental agency. I would come back if in Miami again.

Location. Noise, parking, rude, abusive, ignorant, and belligerent staff and management. Rude, abusive, ignorant, and belligerent staff and management. Thirty Dollars for parking. No sound insulation between rooms.

Our air conditioner was broke, and when reported all we heard was "Sorry, but we are booked to capacity, we will alert the maintenance". Maintenance never showed up, we were sweltering. We could not open the balcony door because we have a 4 year old daughter, and the balcony railing wobbled and did not seem too safe. We had to pay 24 dollars to valet park (the only option) our rental car. The radio alarm clock did not work, and instead woke us up at 4:30 in the morning. The noise in the hallway was ridiculously loud, the whole floor smelled of mildew. The carpet was filthy, after 10 minutes of my daughters socks off her feet were black. The refrigerator was only for mini bar items, and there was no place to store my diabetes medication. I had to go get ice and put my medication in a plastic bag and then in ice. When I asked if breakfast was included or at least a continental breakfast was included the lady at the desk in a rude tone said "No, it is NOT included in the price of your room". I figured for the * bucks I ended up spending in the worst hotel I have stayed at in my life, at least some stale Danishes would be given to us. And we had to pay 8.95 for internet access, and 1.00 for a local phone call to order pizza! I certainly was not going to spend 15.00 a person on dinner (that?s only a sandwich, fries, and drink) after what we had been through in just the first few hours! I have stayed in nicer Best Western's that cared about customers more than the staff at this overrated hotel! The cookies are NOT worth it!

Started off poorly because at 2PM my room was not available. Check-in is at 3PM, so I asked if it would be ready by then. I was told there were at least 30 people ahead of me, so couldn't be told for sure. The hotel did hold my bags for me until I could actually check in. So all-in-all, OK I guess. I didn't go back until around 5:30, so don't know what time the room was actually done. The room was great. It had a beautiful view of the water and marina. We actually slept with the sliding glass door open because it was such a nice night. Bed was comfortable and room was big. Had to go to several floors to find a working soda machine, also not a big deal. The one thing I found an annoyance is the valet parking. Because it is mandatory, I think the service was less than stellar. Never once was I approached by the valet. I always had to ask for the keys to my car, or chase someone down to give them my keys when I returned. Never once did they help wth bags, and I made three separate drop offs since I was picking family up from the airport. It is very close to the cruise terminal, which is a plus. If you can get a good price for the hotel, go for it. Otherwise, I would search around.

The A/C in the room we checked in is completely dead. We waited for an Engineer for 2 and half hours inspite of making 3 calls to front desk. finally we have to stop by the front desk and had long conversations to get the similar room (non smoking), The front desk staff are totally disorganized. Worst service.

Large spa. Did not get the chocolate chip cookie at check-in like all the signs say in the hotel (and try to get you to buy them from Starbucks). Very good stay overall.

This hotel is too big for its own good. Took way too long to receive room service (40 minutes for coffee) and there really is no variety of food options especially for a family with children. The view however was absolutely fantastic and Miami is gorgeous at night. A hotel that has proper policy, procedure and professionalism does not make excuses. The Doubletree Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay did just that. My wife and two children were at the pool. I did not see any signs prohibiting topless sunbathing by women. So needless to say, a woman was topless. I left the pool area, walked to the elevator, waited, took the elevator to the next floor down, walked down the hall, located a phone and called for security. I spoke to a woman at the front desk. I explained the problem and she confirmed the pool was not a topless area. She told me she would notify security. I returned to my family at the pool, and kept my children away as best I could from the offensive woman. Approximately 10 minutes passed with no response by security. Again, I made the journey to a house phone. At checkout I brought the poor response time issue to the attention of Lucrecia Magana. She insisted on arguing with me and told me the response time was 5 minutes. She claimed to have been next to the person I called and was aware of the situation. I explained the time it took for me to exit the pool, dry off and locate the phone on a different floor. I told her I personally made two calls. Then she changed her story. She admitted it was not a 5 minute response time. So after calling me a liar, I caught her in a lie! She was making excuses that will forever prevent me from booking a room at this hotel. I am so clear on my facts because I took notes. I am a reporter of sorts for a living. Taking notes on statements is what I do. That includes looking at my watch and timing performance. The Hotel is too large for its staff. It was like a ghost-town in places. Not an employee to be seen and service was bad.

The shower was hot and flowed well. No better than any other 2 or 3 star hotel. Overall, the rooms were moderately clean, and the bed was somewhat comfortable. The view was less than spectacular.
