We arrived at the Doubletree for a Valentine's Weekend getaway. They allowed late check-in. They first wanted to put us in a king room right next to the lobby area. After checking out the room we realized that we would hear every noise that came from the lobby. They placed us in another room that was designed for people with wheelchairs. This room felt unclean and had stains on the sheets. There were also stains on the floor. Icky! They moved us again to a family room. This room had two rooms. It was decent. The only draw back was the thin walls. We could hear everything the neighbors were doing. As long as you're not trying to spend too much time in the hotel, you'll be fine.

First of all, my wife and I ordered a king size bed through travelocity. We got there, then we were informed we had to PAY 14 A NIGHT FOR PARKING! We agreed, since there was nothing we could do, and the hostess gave us our keys. We took the elevator, which felt like it was about to fall apart at any moment, and walked into the room. To our suprise, there were two queen beds! We went back to the hostess who told us that no king beds were available and since we did the reservation through a third party, it was based on availability. We called travel website who called the hotel and finally we got a king bed. Mind you this is all at 11:30 to midnight. I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN AND I SERIOUSLY ADVISE EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL.

The room was clean. No shuttle service. This hotel was OK. It was not great, but it wasn't bad. It was the least expensive option, so I took it.

I stayed at the Double Tree Club for three days. I have never been more disappointed by a hotels amenities. Outside of the frontdesk most of the employees were friendly. I reserved a king bedroom and ended up with two queens. I paid $ to park in the very narrow parking structure. They advertise free wifi but its only in the lobby. In the room you have to pay for internet. The restaurant and bar are very small, and the floor was filthy as well as the table surface, although the sever quickly cleaned it at my request. The menu was very overpriced and my food all three time I ate there took a long time to arrive and was cold. The bar is very small only six seats, but if you are going to drink there do it at the bar because table service is very slow. This hotel is very old and worn down and it shows and is nothing like other Double Trees I have stayed in. The lack of proper air conditioning gives you two options freeze or burn up, the unit is some kind of archaic vent that doesn't contain a thermostat. The restaurant was extremely warm as well. I will never stay here again its a shame because it's very centrally located.

My wife and I chose this hotel for the King size bed we were assured we would get, and after speaking to the hotel on the phone we chose it for the refrigerator and for the 24 hour room service. When we checked in, we were told that there were no refrigerators in the room, no king size beds were available and that since we booked through the travel website no guarantess of anything we asked for. In addition to being lied to about amenities that were the whole point in going there, parking was horrible! The construction workers were allowed to take the only good parking there was, and even though I have problems walking, we had to park in their tiny garage which really didn't fit SUV's and walk a long distance to our room. Even the manager was rather rude and argumentative, telling us tough since we booked through the travel website, nothing was guaranteed, but finally agreed to comp our internet since we explained we had called and spoke to them personally ahead of time. As it turns out, there is also no room service after 10 pm so they had NONE of the things we had asked for!! In addition, my wife was recuperating and there was extreme construction noise from below us, next door and all over the hotel, with construction workers constantly taking the elevators when we needed to get to our room. Horrible experience! We will never again stay at any Doubletree Club anywhere at all and certainly never book with the travel website again.

Our room had nonworking TV and filthy bathroom floors. Our car licensed plate was stolen from their covered parking garage which you paid a fee per day to park our car! Front office didn?t know what to do & didn?t have San Diego Police Department phone number on hand! This incident happened on Saturday, the manager did not call us back until Monday. The manager was not helpful, he was disrespectful, rude, and even argumentative. He offered no apology or further assistance. It is disappointing to have something like this happen, but more disappointing to have others disregard it as no big deal. This is what this hotel and their guest assistance service did! They lack professionalism & customer service. I will NOT stay at this or other Doubletree Clubs! I do not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Besides the terrible smell coming up from the stairs next to the restaurant all three days that we were there, the personel appeared to hate their jobs and seemed miserable to be there. From the front desk to the restaurant bar.

This hotel sent me to a Comfort Inn because even though I prepaid-they didn't have a room for us. Food was less than average and the fold out sofa sheets hadn't been changed in a long while! Gross! Room had been recently remodeled-was nicely done and in good taste. Seemed short staffed and only 1 working elevator with a service elevator available. Staff left sheets and towels on beds for us to deal with. Very disappointing!

I had a piece of jewelry stolen from my room. It was on a jacket hanging in the closet. It was a beautiful hotel but I will never stay there again.

Our stay at the Doubletree was very comfortable. Finding the Lobby entrance at first was challenging, but we soon discovered the primary access road.We chose it because of location to family we were spending the holiday with (Mission Valley) and because they had themselves listed as Pet Friendly. This was a big plus for us.The hotel was very nice, the staff courteous. The valet parking was a steal at 15 per day, since the self-park was 12.The room was kept well, our bell captain and valets very friendly.Breakfast in their cafe was quite good, we arrived before the crowd. That turned out to be a very good idea, because the service slowed to a crawl when they got busy.We would definetly stay there again in the future.

My family and I came to Sandiego for a mini vacation. I read the other reviews of the Hotel and this one seemed to be right on the money. When we arrived I didn't know what to expect. The reception was friendly and even gave everyone hot cookies as a welcome treat. The lobby is very nice and upscale looking. When we opened our door to our room we weren't sure what to expect. The room smelled like a new car. The furniture was an art deco type in black with a matching flat screen TV. It had a leather couch and a nice credenza to work on if you are on a business trip. Everything was spotless clean and they even use Neutrogena products for their toiletries. The beds are absolutely to die for!! I have never been in a Hotel where they give you five plush pillows on top of a killer feather bed. You will sleep like a dream in these beds. They have a coffee maker that is ultra modern and serves Wolfgang Puck coffee with it's own to go cups with lids like Starbucks. I have nothing but praise for this place. By far the best Hotel I have stayed at in SD. Eric Pike

The beds are very comfortable. Parking is not connected to the hotel. We would stay again; beds are great; hotel is quiet and the pool area is very attractive even though we didn't swim.

We stayed 2 nights. Check in was a little rough, with attitude (reservation changed by me and not properly altered). Lobby nice; hall and room rugs in bad shape; some wallpaper off bathroom walls. Yet bathroom was very clean, nice tile. Separate sitting area nice. THEN, I reclined on the bed!!! Pure heaven for someone with back problems. I never moved all night. Pool nice, very clean and warm on a cold San Diego night. Hot tub was awesome. There was a fire pit with seating around it which was a nice touch. There could be esthetic improvements, but we woke refreshed and energized. (And painfree!!!)There a great restaurant for breakfast a short walk away "Ricky's" (I think), world famous apple pancakes; try the strawberry and banana souffle; delicious and enough for two meals- in business for 40 years and I know why; hugh portions, friendly staff.

The hotel was clean and comfortable; however, our guaranteed late arrival king bed was not available and there is a steep $14.00 per vehicle parking charge that was not noted on Orbitz. The toilet had a stoppage that was corrected timely, but was at 1:00 a.m. (remember that late arrival)!! This is something, I think, housekeeping should have noticed.

The room was nice, clean and we were able to have two children with us. The parking was to much and no protection. The hotel was nice and clean, in fact I felt very comfortable in the room.
