Booked online for 4 adults and were surprised to find out there was a $40 pp fee each night that was charged to our credit card after we checked out!!!! Front desk lied and said $40 total for whole week! Watch out for hidden fees that are not disclosed @ check in

My wife and I explored downtown Honolulu on the last leg of our honeymoon. Doubletree is perfect in terms of location to downtown Honolulu and Waikiki beach. Upon return, we would not stay more than one or two evenings but the walking distance to great restaurants is well worth it.

Good location, coffee maker and refrigerator in room. Good workout room. Sheets on on bed seem to be dirty.

My wife, 8-year-old and I stayed here for 8 days in October. Our overall experience was good, but we wouldn't stay at the Alana Doubletree again. This hotel is in good condition. The staff is very kind and courteous. The pool was small, but worked for us. Important note about pool, if you?re looking to sit in the sun, one half of the available patio space and the entire pool are in the shade (of the building) for the entire afternoon. While the hotel is non-smoking, people still disregard the law and the hallways often smell of smoke. The three elevators are microscopic in size but lightning fast. The rooms are also very small. The shower/tub is literally a half tub into which you have to ?climb? (big step). If you?re looking to take a bath, this isn?t the hotel. The only restaurant on the lowest level has a VERY expensive buffet breakfast or normally priced ala carte menu. The big plus of this hotel is that the room rates were half of what the Hawaiian Village was asking. This hotel is also on a very busy street (Ala Moana) so police/fire sirens are very frequent. The location is excellent. . . adjacent to Ft. DeRussy and its beautiful parks. 15 minute walk to the beach. 10 minute walk to the major shopping districts. Next time we?ll look to stay in a hotel that offers a larger more normal sized room.

I would highly recommended the Double Tree. It was in the perfect location for us to walk pretty much anywhere we wanted to go. I would recommend not renting a car because they do charge $27 a night + tax!!! a night for valet parking. Staff was very friendly and rooms were very well taken care of. Odd showers in the bathroom - very large step to get in and the shower head was very low - didn't work well for my six foot tall husband! Two sinks in the room and a nice pull out couch in our king room.

The front desk was nice about handing out cookies to the kids. The hotel charged $27 to park our rental car in the hotel parking lot. I feel guests should not be charged. The hotel was okay. I was just very disappointed to find out that we had to pay $27 dollars a day to park out rental car in the hotel parking lot. The housekeeper was not consistent in cleaning our room and replacing clean towels. The kids got sand in the room and the sand remained in the room for our entire stay which leads me to think the room was never vacuumed for an entire week. The valet guys will stand by your car until you give them a tip which we did sometimes but not always since we didn't always have cash on us but I thought it was rude to expect it especially if we had to pay $27 a day to park our car. The kids enjoyed the cookies but there was one lady that wasn't nice to the kids when they asked for cookies. She gave them a hard time asking if they really were hotel guests. I wouldn't stay a this hotel for my next visit.

We stayed at the Doubletree for 4 nights and had a great experience. The hotel was clean, friendly, and met all of our needs. The location was great, we were within walking distance and bus transportation for many things. The hotel staff was most helpful with shuttles and taxis. Would most definetly stay there again and would recommend it to anyone!

I enjoyed the hotel. It was noisy due to rescues along the street but everyone was exceptionally friendly. Rooms were very clean. Great location. The people working valet were exceptionally helpful. I would go there again.

The staff was great and the rooms were clean. Small bathtub, pay to park. I would stay here again as the staff was very attentive and it's close to anything you would want for tourism. Scooter rentals next door and a quick walk to the beach. The hotel was clean and affordable, thanks priceline, and we were given a complimentary extra 3 hours, until 2pm, to check out. If you're looking for a great place to rest and go, and not spending a lot of time at your hotel. This is the place for you. It's loud on the streets during the weekend but which hotel wouldn't be in Waikiki.

The hotel was a big disappointment. Construction was going on directly outside our door with loud drills at 9pm while we were trying to sleep. In addition, there were asphalt grinders working from 7pm-7am doing a complete road resurfacing project the entire week we stayed. Was able to switch rooms but was disappointed in the "whatever" attitude of the staff when discussing our experiences with them. Finally, the activity coordinator was not welcoming and didn't appear to either have much knowledge or willingness to help us plan our activities during our stay. Will never stay there again!

The unexpected refrigerator in the rooms and the bed was very comfort. Having to pay $27.00 a night to park in the hotel's parking garage. The hotel overall was great. I did not like the location of the hotel. The hotel was easy to locate, but hard to get to because of the streets and no crossovers where the hotel is sitting.

Watch out for extra fees. Hotel charges $ for parking, $ for internet access and $ for a roll away bed. This nearly doubled the overnight stay cost. Hotel is good other than that.

the alana double tree in waikiki was superb in its accommodations. the staff was very helpful with a problem i had concerning my glasses. the suite had ample room for the three of us.

The pool was small, but we were the only people who were using the pool at the time, so it was fine.

Room and staff were fine. Staff were friendly including maintenance crews. pool was ok. fitness area were 1 operating treadmill and 2 bikes (really don't consider that as a fitness center). Directions throughout building need updating; many point to incorect locations (business center, convenience store). Hope you are not the unfortunate person that gets the room with the ice dispenser outside the door. Concierge?s desk was always empty, only attendant at front desk was available for directions, assistance. It was a short walk from areas that visitors would want to see, but would prefer a location with something fun to do within the same block. Seems management has not attention to detail and if you looked into the office on the second floor that was visibile you would also say disorganized.

When we arrived to the Alana, early in the morning after a long flight, we were told we could check in but that the room my sister had paid for as a wedding present would not be available until the following day, we were given a 'penthouse room' which had a lovely dining table in it, but no bed!, just a pull out sofa. My sister was very dissapointed in our treatment at the hotel as the next day we were not put into our correct room until we arrived back from a Luau at 11:00pm after having asked what was going on three times that day, there was no discout price offered for that night until I asked, and my brother in law had to call from Australia to complain, and then we were offered a $50 meal voucher. As this was the first stop on our honeymoon we were quite dissapointed, having said that the reception staff are friendly and one in particular helped us a lot with organising activities, the suite rooms are a little dated but comfortable. I thought the price was a little high for the quality of the hotel.
