Budapest, Hungary

Description:
Located near the famous GERBEAUD Café and at 2 minutes walk of the most famous pedestrian area of Budapest. It was renovated in Year 2003; it is clean and spacious, having also a cable TV (English, German, French, Hungarian, Italian channels). With this apartment you are sure to be exactly in the centre of the city, near the restaurants, nightlife, pedestrian street, etc,...all of these at max. 5 minutes walk.
Transportation:
Instructions on how to reach the Dorottya Street Apartment from the airport:Very important: Please send as soon as possible your time of landing and flight number to budgetbudapest@gmail.com (if you didn't during the booking process). This is because there is no reception desk and in order to avoid a waste of your time, I am going to wait for you directly in the apartment. I will be there 1 HOUR after your planned landing. In case of a delayed arrival, don't worry because I am used to check the arrivals on the airport's website (however you can also call me: +36.30.950.51.55).When arriving at the Budapest-Ferihegy Airport you will choose between Airport Minibuses and taxi. Airport Minibuses: they are working very good but you will have to wait a little until they find other people who want to take the same direction like you (never more than 15 minutes). Price: HUF 2'490 person (return ticket: HUF 4'390 person) Taxi: if you are more than 1 person, I suggest to take a taxi because it is cheaper than minibusz!. The company ZONA TAXI is offering a fixed price of HUF 4'500 (around 18 euros) to the city centre. Normally they are waiting outside the terminal.(The trip back from the city will cost only HUF 3'600, around 14 euros, call +36.1.365.55.55, if possible a few hours before the planned departure from the apartment). The address of the apartment is: Dorottya u. 3, 2nd floor, apartment 4.There is a ring on the main door, push 21. If by accident it doesn't work (it happens sometime), please go directly to the apartment.I wish you a nice flight to Budapest!James BötkösPhone : +36.30.950.51.55 (mobile)

Not recommendedWe didn't like this place at all. For a start there little things: there was only a tiny amount of toilet paper so we had to buy some on the second day, there was moldy food in the fridge from the last people, there was noisy construction going on in the street out the front so we couldn't sleep past 7am each day.The bed was a strange fold-out lounge thing, with just a thin sheet between you and the (dusty) lounge-fabric cushions. One side was sunken and really uncomfortable. The bathroom smelt decidedly moldy (which isn't surprising because it had no window or exhaust fan). The whole place was dusty. So after two days of waking up feeling sick with awful head aches (that improved when we left the apartment), we actually decided to leave and find another hotel! This was despite the fact that we had paid for four nights up front. So we blew our accommodation budget a bit in Budapest, but didn't regret leaving though. It was such a relief to go to a place where we could breathe clean air and sleep on a comfortable bed. We thought it was a shame, since underneath it all it's a nice spacious flat in a really good location. The owners could do more with it.

great location!the apartment is located just steps from the waterfront and lots of restaurant options. the room was very spacious and the owner was very friendly. the shower needed repair and the furniture was old but in good condition. but the convenience more than made up for any shortfalls.

Fantastic LocationAlthough the building is somewhat'faded glory' the appartment was clean and had all that was needed to make ourbreak good. The location is superb and could not have been better, especially when you consider the price. Also, James, the owner was great and very helpful, as well as going off to purchase us bread, butter, jam and milk so that our first morning went well.

Lovely traditional Hungarian flat smack-bang in the centre of Pest. The accomodation was basic but clean and excedingly good value for money. We were met by the owner's wike Krisztina who was very helpful and gave us a few do's and don'ts and recommendations of what to see and where to eat - see lives locally. We will be back.

This apartment is in an outstanding location. It has a lot of space. It needs repair to the shower door. Having the kitchen was a plus. The owners were very pleasant and helpful. We found it safe and pleasant. The furniture is older but servicable. It is great for the location and price.

The appartment was perfectly placed right in the centre of Budapest near the river. The area it was in was perfect, not seedy and next door to the pedestrianised square. This was the first time I had stayed in an appartment as i usually prefer staying in hotels but thought i would give it a go. Staying here instead of staying in a similar located hotel must have saved us at least £75 as you can't get anywhere better located. The appartment is nice, not massive but easily accomodated 3 of us and if i stayed in BUdapest again I would probably stay here. The owner James was very helpful and met us outside the appartment an hour after our flight landed as agreed. All in all a successful experience

This appartment is ideally situated for everything you would want to see in Budapest. The owner couldn't have been any more friendly and helpful than he was. Our stay was great. One slight down point at present is the building work being done across the street starts early and can be noisey. This won't go on for ever and wasn't a major issue.

Owner met us from the train station and was available to offer assistance during our stay. Location is excellent, very close to the main shopping area and we didn't really have to use public transport. Despite this, the road is quiet at night and feels very safe. Highly recommended.

This apartment is so centrally located in Budapest that you really can't get any more central! The owner is very friendly and helpful, the large (studio)room extremely clean, the water hot, the price incredibly low! Highly recommended. But be aware that you need to pay in cash, cards are not accepted. I will happily stay here again, it's unbeatable value for money.

This apartment was in the best location, right in the centre of town. Time for new sheets and towels but otherwise perfect. Our host was friendly and well informed. Great value for money.

We had a wonderful weekend here, the place has the atmosphere of a modest Budapest flat, including authentic furniture, television. It is in the middle of the city center with all the tourist spots within walking range(Gerbaud, Vaci street can be reached in a couple of minutes), still relatively calm because of the streets position. Not a luxury or exclusive apartment, but excellent value for money. Service was very discreet.
