I found this an excellent hotel. The rooms were all very clean and the staff very kind and helpful. There was a good variety of food for breakfast and dinner. If you can face the steep hill it is certainly worth staying at this hotel. There is a courtesy bus into Funchal several times a day. I would stay there again when visiting Funchal.

Muy servicialesLas habitaciones del hotel no son gran cosa, pero el servicio de los empleados es muy muy bueno, son muy simpaticos en recepción, muy serviciales y el servicio de limpieza de las habitaciones increible, para empezar les pedí desde madrid una habitación con vistas, y me dieron la mejor, una vez allí, los empleados de la recepción fueron siempre muy amables y serviciales con nosotros y cuando llegabamos por la noche la habitacion siempre estaba hecha, con toallas limpias, e incluso el pojama doblado y debajo de la almohada. muchas gracias a todos.

This hotel is located in the Hotel district of Funchal and as such is within close proximity of the city centre and a large number of restaurants. Hotel staff are helpful and friendly. The only downside is the walk up the hill after an evening out but in Madeira walking uphill is inevitable!
