The RoomMy Room was not clean, so I was moved into another upgraded room, which I was fine with, but then I was told I would have to move back to the other room when it was cleaned, however, the next morning the room was not cleaned, so I had to move my stuff out, take it all with me, and bring it back again, in the evening!! A bit annoyed!! I got back, and I was offered the same room as I stayed in again, which was helpful. So overall the stay was ok, didn't need the head ache of moving my stuff around, though!

Room was pretty basic: bed too short for the majority of people, and not enough power points. Breakfast pretty mean: one sausage + one piece of bacon when asked for sausages, bacon & eggs.

Nice enough hotel, but nothing special. The room felt a little cramped. Fried breakfast was freshly cooked but the range of cereals was small. The hotel currently offers a discount with a nearby Indian restaurant.

This hotel is quite central, about a 10 minute walk to Reading train station or a quick bus ride. The hotel is clean and tidy and you get a decent breakfast in the morning. Only thing was our room was located right by reception and it can be quite noisy (the woman on reception was talking on her mobile phone VERY LOUDLY for about half an hour at 8am on a saturday morning - bit annoying!) but otherwise a good stay.

A group of 3 of us were staying here for the Reading Festival. It was perfect - only 35 minute walk to the areana, cooked breakfasts (all you can eat), showers, tv, everything you need!!

Basic, Functional. Breakfast served by a 'chef' with a mobile phone permanently stuck to his ear. Creaking floorboards could be heard when other guests moved. Front room - next to buy road.

Cheap and cheerful, room was clean and comfy, space for parking, easy to find and central. Was let down by poor breakfast which tasted of chemicals and faulty showers

This hotel was really hard to find it was on a complicated one way system and not on Donnington Road as the name suggests. I rang the hotel to ask for directions as I was lost ans the response was unhelpful, her directions on how to get to the hotel were not clear and I had to ask a passerby to direct me. I stayed in a basic room but it had no access to a shower and the nearest toilet was down a flight of stairs. The floorboards were very creeky so it was impossible to quietly go to the toilet if you woke up in the night!!!It was clean, and provided me with a comfortable bed and a roof over my head, but not having access to a shower was a major let down the morning before a job interview as you can imagine.

It was a very simple hotel and served the purpose of cheap, one night accommodation. A 7:00 am start for breakfast was a little inconvenient as I needed to get away by 7:00am. However, in the same situation (poor room availability in the town) I would probably stay at the hotel again.

Hotel was in a good location - close to the city centre and the university campus. Although the hotel was clean, it was in desperate need of modernisation - esp. the bathrooms.

I arrived very early from Sydney Australia and was given my room at 8.15 am which I was very grateful for and the next day I was given a late check out. The manager and staff were very courteous. The only negative, it was on a very busy main road with a constant noise of traffic, even though there was double glazing on the windows.

The rooms are large and clean, the food was reasonable pub fair. The bar does close at 11pm with no late drinks for guests :(. Although it is behind the Texaco garage you do not hear any traffic noise. The car park is well lit.This is ideal for travel to Microsoft/Oracle at TVP as you are the right side of the Thames and Reading town center to avoid the traffic.
