Transportation:
Bundaberg is approximately a five hour drive North of Brisbane, exit the Bruce Highway at Childers and take the Isis Highway to Bundaberg (Takalvan Street) then turn right at Walker Street, through town for 8 kms to the Bargara roundabout, following the Black Bull signs to Bargara. Go through Bargara and turn right at the Esplanade through the roundabout and into Miller Street. The golf course is on the right side and the Pacific Ocean is on the left.
Car Parking:
Parking is not secure, most appartments have undercover car parking, only one vehicle per unit.
Attractions:
Expect a place of plenty with 17 sandy beaches, 140km of coastline, coral cays and warm hospitality. At its centre, Bundaberg features historic buildings mixed with modern architecture. Visit The Whaling Wall, learn about Bundaberg¿s favourite son, pioneer aviator Bert Hinkler, or whet your appetite with a visit to a local winery or the rum distillery.
Looking for Reef experiences? Then head to the Southern Great Barrier Reef, Lady Musgrave and Lady Elliot Islands, Fitzroy Reef and the Capricorn Group.
For a rainforest, nature or national park experience, there's plenty of choice in the Coral Coast region including Auburn River National Park, Cania Gorge, Coalstoun Lakes and Deepwater National Park.
A must visit spot is Bargara Beach. Its newly developed foreshore streetscape, shopping precinct, accommodation and excellent dining facilities provide a total holiday package.
Fishing enthusiasts are well catered for at Bargara with an artificial offshore reef guaranteeing good fishing all year round. A first class golf course is located just behind the resort and a bowling green offers outdoor entertainment for people of all ages.
Nearby, the Mon Repos Conservation Park has the largest loggerhead turtle nesting area in the South Pacific. Each season from November to February, giant sea turtles nest on the beach after dark then, 6 to 7 weeks later, hatchlings emerge from their nests and make their long journey to the ocean.
