Great value and location. We paid £38 for a large lovely room with twin beds.Room 633 had a massive balcony with spectacular views to wake up to. There was a table and sofa. The curtains were lined to keep out the sun.Good tea making facilities. The spacious bathroom with bathtub was a welcome delight and there were free toileteries.Excellent never-ending breakfast. The hotel was unsurprisingly busy. The indoor pool is small but the jaccuzi and sauna fine but we were too busy to use them.Too chilly to use the large outdoor pools. Private tunnel to the beach.I wished it had been warmer outside! A lovely break.

hassle free booking thanks to late roomsBeautiful hotel in a brilliant location . Two minutes from the seafront and the bus station with buses travelling all over Malta right behind the hotel. Staff in the hotel couldnt have been any more helpful. Rooms cleaned every day and towels changed. Splendid dining area with buffet style breakfast and dinner with plenty of choice. I have used late rooms for hotel bookings on a number of occasions and now it is the only way I would holiday booking flights myself and then using late rooms for my accomadation. Going back to this hotel in September Malta is just lovely.

Long week end at the DolmenGood location, close to restaurant and bars, but not noisy / bustly.Easy access to beach. Room was lovely, a good size, clean and with great view over the bay.We only went down for breakfast once- there were tea/ coffee making facilities in the room. The breakfast was ok- the usual busy, help yourself set up.All in all I would definatly recommend the Dolmen- even to my mum - who's very fussy.

This hotel is not a four star and should not be advertised as such.We had read other reviews stating that some rooms had been refurbished and supposed (wrongly) that we would have a refurbished room. The reality was a room desperately in need of refurbishment and a good clean. In fairness on complaint to reception we were offered an alternative room but this was to be accepted without a preview, and was not available until further into our stay. Corridor walls were crumbling and carpets were threadbare,, our room (175) was probably the worst room I have ever stayed in, the shower leaked all over the floor in the bathroom and eventually into the room, the bathroom door only opened half way before it struck the wash basin, the curtains had holes in, the sheets did not fit the bed!! The food was edible but not varied in any way. All in all I would not recommend this hotel, but we did like Malta and will visit again.

Good Hotel, Excellent location and real VFMBe sure to explore all the hotel has to offer as there are many hidden gems. We arrived very late or very early in the morning and was just given our room key with directions so didn't get any information apart from 'over there for breakfast'. We only found the cafe with the seating by the outside pool on the last day we were there because the hotel information in our room was fairly sparse. Despite that, we found the staff friendly and helpful, food very good with a great deal of choice (we only ate breakfast there) and the room we stayed in whilst not being one of the refurbished ones was very spacious, clean and well equiped. If you like to get out and about whilst on holiday, this hotel is well appointed for buses to most of the places on the island plus you can walk around the promenade and into other bays which is very pleasant. Overall impression, very good value for money and we were pleased at the rate found on late rooms having expected to stay elsewhere on the island but then discovering there were 'strings attached'.

We have three children and all of us enjoyned our staying. The children liked the inside pool area since it was winter during our stay. The water was heated and nice. The food for the children could have been better. The service was good.

Well designed hotel, sea view room has beautiful view over St Pauls Bay, my room looked out to St Pauls bay, Comino and Gozo in the distance - worth the upgrade. Two outdoor pools close, two more pools on walk through to private promenade by the sea, no beach but sunbeds and bar right by the sea, Indoor pool, gymn etc. Not really a complaint but on half board there was a problem with dining when the hotel was more full. When to dine is open and there was a tendency for many people to want to dine at the same time, queue to enter and for access to the buffet. Hotel is looking at splitting the dining to (as in other hotels) to 6-8 or 8 onwards. This I think would work. This point should not deter you from staying a the hotel. Defintely worth a stay.
