We took advantage of the Bed & Breakfast package and it was a HIT with the kids! The staff was great and very accommodating to those with families..not just business travelers. Kids were well behaved so they knew what was expected of them at a resort like this. The rooms were more than comfortable with many useful amenities we don't often see unless getting a 2 room suite or Deluxe Suite at other hotels (like 2 sinks and sufficient drawer space)! A great experience especially for the price! Will definitely go again when in the area. Being in a residential area just added to the quiet/restful tones of the hotel.

Historical mansion. Great public grounds for walks. Great location.

the old bait and switch tactic is practiced here. they offer a room at discounted rate and charge more when you arrive . this hotel is a rip off. never stay here

Price scheme on menus was confusing...on dinner menu desserts were 9.00, but across from item it would state 6.00 (for the accompanying drink with dessert.) This almost looked like a ploy to hit the many businesses that foot the bill.

The pool and hot tub. The didn't clean our room Saturday night. Maybe the clean person forgot about cleaning our room. Real good place.

This excellent hotel, in a bit of an out of the way location, is an Oasis of calm in the South Silicon valley area. Quiet rooms (ask for a room on the first floor as in the upper floor you can hearthe air conditioning fans a bit). Great fitness rooms with new equipment. Great old fashioned feel with nice bar and restaurants (restaurants close early though - good food available in the bar late). This hotel has a resort feel. Location - plus is that it is away from major roads almostno road noise. A plus for light sleepers. Location - minus, somewhat inconvenient location south of San Jose. OK commute to Santa Clara or Stevens Creek area of San Jose. Not much available to do close by though. Just a great hotel if you need to get away from the hectic pace and noise of South Silicon valley.

Upon our arrival the room accommodations we requested were wrong. not sure if it was an Orbitz error and miscommunication between Orbitz and the hotel but the accommodations we inadaquete and they were unable to provide any compensation that was adequate for our family of for so we were stuck for 2 nites w/one small room and one king size bed and a cot. no other compensation was offered.

Big restrooms, nice bathrobe, andflat screen TV. Thin walls, small rooms, dirty sheets, andrough sheets. It's OK, not a bad place to stay.I find the walls a bit thin for my taste.

This hotel was once an enormous family estate so it is by definition not centrally located, but we did not mind that. (If you are looking for nearby nightlife or fine shopping and dining, this is not really the place, although there is a mall a couple of miles away and San Jose proper is about 15 mnutes away on the freeway.) The property is lovely and gracious and our 5 night stay was totally relaxing. Even on the weekend, when they were sold-out and there was a wedding, it was quiet and peaceful. There are public golf courses nearby, the fitness center-steam room-sauna is great, lovely pool, and there are 2 restaurants on the property (which we did not use because we had family events). The grounds are beautiful with numerous small areas with tables and umbrellas, perfect to catch up with friends or just to read a book outside in the gorgeous climate. The mansion itself has a number of lovely public spaces, a bar, library, business center etc, all within this historic mansion. The staff was uniformly friendly and attentive. We had a "standard queen" room which had a desk, plus another small table and chairs, plus an additional sink and vanity! The beds were extremely comfortable with fabulous feather pillows and the linens were lovely. Terrific bathrobes. The towels could have been a bit more luxurious, though, to go with the rest. We had a great rate from orbitz and would definitely return to this hotel.

The hotel, with an old mansion at its heart, was beautiful with modern, stylish and well-appointed rooms and facilities.

Absolutely gorgeous facility with warm, friendly staff. Buffet breakfast is worth the few extra pennies. Wish we had more time for the spa.

Beautiful hotel with charm and character. The neighbor above up was loud in stomping on the floor repeatedly throughout the night. Great and beautiful hotel.

The hotel had no reservation on file for us. They were reluctant to give us a room even with our confirmation letter from orbitz. The breakfast doesn't open until 6:30am so the free breakfast wasn't very helpful. We arranged to have a small breakfast sent up to the room since we had to leave early in the morning. The 2 (party of 4) bagels were stale and a couple of cereal boxes were pretty small considering we gave up our morning coupons to arrange something else. The room was ok but the carpets are very old and stained. The resort has no internet and our cell phones barely functioned there.

Great area for visiting vinyards and shopping. San Francisco only 1hrs 15 min away. I didn't feel fully informed about food vouchers that seemed available at the hotel. Not cheap but worth the money.

Comfortable room and spacious garden. Unkind staff. This hotel was wonderful except their employee. At front desk, they gave me king bed room. I was in there with my husband and two kids and they saw my family. When I go back to front desk to ask them to change two bed, they answered me I booked king bed room. They are a sort of rude.

Overall hotel experience was fantastic! The staff was accommodating and the grounds were beautiful. Breakfast was a great bonus. The pool was a decent size, but busy at times. The fitness center is cozy, but has all the equipment needed plus 2 tv's. The room was larger than the average hotel room and well kept. The hotel is not located in downtown, but is easily accessible from just about anywhere. If they have a deal, I would absolutely recommend staying here.
