The room appeared to be down graded from the other rooms in the hotel. Also, a couple of the staff memebers we just plain dishonest. The staff in the cafe and bar we very nice and I was treated well by them.

The thing I liked the most about the property was the location. The easy access to Doctor's Cave Beach wa wonderful and the easy access to downtown and the airport were good. I was extremely disappointed in the facilities. The staff was just not attentive, they did not go out of their way to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable, let alone do there job of assisting the guests. The restaurant servers were great but there was never any of the items on the menu available. The room could have been cleaned more thoroughly. Bottom line..I would not stay at that hotel again if I had a choice. There are several other hotels in walking distance that I would select over Doctor's Cave even if they cost a little more..simply because the front desk staff did their jobs poorlu.

Good reception at front desk. Good breakfast/dinner. We loved the room but bed was not comfortable. Room was clean. Good customer service. Need new shower mat for bathroom.

Was given a surprise birthday part , room decorated with fresh flowers, balloons, and birthday sings posted in room. 1 hour free rum punch, then a very delicious birthday cake was served. Staff always helpful always looking out for the guest. Not one bad experience. Hotel staff helpful in getting us taxies to go to Negril and to other excursions to see local cultural events.

Doctors Cave Beach Hotel is at a such great location, I loved it. My only concern is that there should be a crosswalk at the hotel pedestrian entrance. Crossing the street to get to the hotel is very dangerous, especially when you have children.

Before going on the trip, I read the reviews from others. So I really didn't know what to expect. I am so happy we stayed at this hotel. This was the first time for us. We have family in Jamaica so we normally stay with them or at other hotels. This year for the Reggae Sumfest we booked late so the hotels we normally frequent were booked. We had teenagers with us and you know they like to walk the strip. Luckly Doctor's Cave had an opening for us in late April. We are so happy because the experience was great. From the time we checked in, to the bar and breakfast everything was great. I had read that your family members couldn't come in to see you, that wasn't true. They had to check in at the front desk which was fine with us. The housekeeping staff was great too. We will stay there again.

This hotel was great for me,traveling alone.For a hotel on the (Hip Strip) within walking distance to shopping, dining,clubs,and the great Doctor Cave Beach across the street.Staff was very helpful in getting a cab, scheduling a tour,and very helpful on telling you where to and not to go.Would go back again

There was a relaxing ambience. They had a fee of an extra 30 some dollars for "special services" but I did not find anything outstanding about the service. In general the hotel was a good place to stay. Fairly clean. Was need in of some repairs and upkeep. Location great and very convenient.

The hotel is close to a main road. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a Garden view room. The restaurant served a very good breakfast.

I like staying at smaller hotels as I find that they offer more character and personalized service. I tend to explore when I go on vacation as opposed to just visiting the beach. This hotel is in a good location, it's comfortable and I found the staff helpful. The Doctors Cave Beach which I did spend some time at was a super beach and had alot of facilities available. I chose Montego Bay as I wanted to visit both Negril and Ocho Rios and I was able to do day excursions to both areas with ease from Montego Bay as it's equal distance from both areas and it's also close to the airport which was convenient. I can't wait for my next trip!

personally i thought it was going to be a hole in the wall but the hotel was very good the staff was very friendly; the room i was in was very good.The only thing there is not enough parking if you are goin to rent a car while you down there which was the only down side. the hotel has a bar and a resturant thers is always somthing going on in the area. the hotel is right on the hip strip so its walking distance to clubs, shops and the beach which is right across the street.

Reasonable location,on mainstreet,across from ocean although you can't see any water as too many buildings in the way.Doctor's cave beach is close by but not much to look at(tiny-no shade,hidden behind a wall,pay for everything)The free rum punch on tues.evening was good,liked K... the bartender.Nice garden,quaint room on garden side.Had breakfast there-pricey for what you get-$5.20 american for one cup of coffee! would stay again.

This hotel is in a very convenient location on the "Hip Strip" in MoBay, so we thought it would be nice to stay here, especially considering the price. THE PROS: 1) STAFF 2) LOCATION The staff was very friendly and we were able to walk to everything we wanted to see on the strip. The "superior" room was a nice size and was clean.THE CONS: 1) OLD FURNITURE/WEIGHT ROOM/GENERAL APPEARANCE 2) DIRTY HOT TUB 3) SMALL POOL 4) STREET NOISEThe furniture was very old, chipped, and ugly. The beds were comfortable but very squeaky. The hot tub water was murky and dirty - I wouldn't even get in - and the pool was very small. The location on the "Hip Strip" isn't all that it is cracked up to be..... Jamaican drivers LOVE to use their horns and we had a chorus of honking all night long. The bar did offer free rum punch from 6-7pm on Tues and Sat that was pretty darn good. I think part of my problem with this hotel is that I didn't like Montego Bay in general - there were too many drug peddlers/general hagglers on the street and the town was dirty. However, if I ever went again I would definitely spend the extra money to stay in a nice all-inclusive resort such as the Breezes at Runaway Bay or something similar. This hotel definitely did nothing to enhance our stay in MoBay.

Doctor's Cave Hotel is across the street from the famous Doctor's Cave beach. The deluxe room was smaller than expected and needed a little work, but very clean. I had to borrow a blow dryer and there was not an electrical outlet in the bath for drying or curling hair . The service desk did have a dryer for me to use. There was not a clock or radio, either. You were pretty much on your own time, and I am sure if I needed a wake up call, I could have gotten one. My room was cozy and had a balcony overlooking the gardens. Not too bad. It was peaceful at night. There was a spa tub that wasn't large, but quite relaxing. There's a 5 entrance fee for the beach, but that's small potatoes for what you get. It was a one minute walk to the gates. The beach is beautiful and the water is wonderful without a lot of rocks or seagrass. You pay for beach chairs and umbrellas, if you need one and there is shade around the palms if you desire. Several bars line the beach and wait staff are at your service and are plentiful. Some of the bars have parties well into the night and are open to all. I don't know how often the parties occur. My only complaint was not enough local music on the dance floor. The hotel is on the strip down from Margarittavile and easy access to anything. All in all, I would do it again for a weekend getaway to the beach.

"This place was so charming and lovely. The staff bent over backwards, and the beaches were like postcards. Check out Margaritaville during the night- about a 3 minute walk. This hotel makes you feel like you really are in a cave, except the cave is inside a botanical garden. 2 THUMBS UP!"

"Well to start off, my sister and I took our 1st trip to Jamaica and didnt really know what to expect. But everyone was friendly and we had very good service from the service Desk. A man by the name of X, made sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. Also a young lady at the from desk; but dnt remember her name. Taxi's everywhere! And I would check out thr Pier night club, had a blast! Anyways! Loved Jamaica, loved the people, loved the beach! and service. Cant wait to visit again! Would reccomend!!!!"

A friend recommended this hotel to me and I'm glad he did. I am a frequent traveler to Jamaica and I found this hotel to be in a great location with lots to do close by the hotel. The staff was very friendly and always willing to assist. I like the personalized nature of small hotels and was pleased with me stay. I shall return.

"Room was not clean. Found a cockroach in one bed, and bed bugs in another. Bugs in bathroom and kitchen. Not enough towels, 2 people in room but only 1 bath towel. Not able to get a soda at 11AM, because ""The bar is closed"". Hotel is on main road, so very noisy. We like to stay at smaller, locally owned hotels, not all-inclusives, but we will never stay here again."
