We loved the location. We had a window that leaked from the sprinklers but we loved the room. It would have been nice for the staff to do more than come and look at it. They never even tried to fix the problem. Some staff were nice, others acted like they could do without our business. We were good tippers too so we should have received great service all the time.

My boyfriend and I just got back from 5 days at the Divi. We had a fabulous time and I'll start with the positives...the beach is absolutely amazing...calm turquoise water, super-soft sand, and it was not crowded at all. The huts are a great addition. The staff was always courteous and helpful...some are a bit more reserved than others, but no one was ever rude or ignored us. The food at the Divi and Tam was good, not fabulous, but definitely edible. LOL! We didn't care that much for the Pelican buffet after a few days but did enjoy the reservation-required restaurants, Red Parrot, Papparazzi, and Palm Grill. The pizzas are awesome, too. They have THE BEST strawberry daquiries...all top shelf liquor and the drinks weren't watered down. If you prefer a stronger drink, simply ask for a double. We had a large 3rd floor balcony in one of the veranda buildings and it was great to relax there and look out at the ocean. The rooms are comfortable and clean, very basic. The pools were very nice, too. The not-so-positive stuff...people put their towels out at the huts very early in the morning to "hold" them even if they don't plan to be on the beach until later. I was out there by 8:00 every morning and always ended up with the very last hut, yet I wouldn't see others come out for another couple of hours (some not at all!). I know this isn't the Divi's fault though, but be prepared. Regarding the room...it literally took 3-5 minutes for the hot water to come on in the shower, and then it wasn't as hot as I prefer. The bathroom is very outdated (paint peeling, really old tub). The beds are rock hard and not very comfortable. All in all, I would say the resort itself is 4-stars (perfect quiet location, great inclusive package, amenities, nightly entertainment, grounds well-kept, very nice staff) but the rooms are 2-1/2 stars. We would definitely stay at the Divi again though because we didn't spend much time in the room itself. We rode bikes to the flea market nearby, we took

to start out with the positives, the beach is pretty and not crowded at all. the rooms have nice views and you can catch the sunset at night from the beach. the pizza bar is great (food and staff). as for the disappointing points, the bars were understaffed and you felt that you were an inconvience to the bartenders. for the water sports, the divi and the tamarijn share the equipment and it is very limited. there were only two windsurf boards available for both resorts to use. one day there were only 3 kayaks out and we saw more in the shed. when we asked to use them, the staff said it was alot of work for them to take them out!!!! i hope you like to plan ahead cause the resturants require reservations and they fill up quickly. we were told hertz took them, found out they dont, finally we got to use the cards at the sunset beach bistro after arguing w/ hte manager for 1/2 and hour, ruined the evening. there should have been more money left on the card, tried to used the rest at the gift shop, per the staff in the shop, there wasnt. they say the presentation is an hour, wrong, it was 2 1/2. i just want to let others know so they dont have to experience the same aggrevation that we did. and like all other reviews said, the air conditioner is very loud and the bathrooms can use an update.

best place to relax

This was our second stay at the Divi and it won't be our last. The beach is the best and plenty of space, you're not cramped side by side like the other resorts. Good liquor selections, food was good and plentiful, and the staff was friendly and after a few drink requests, they knew what you wanted when a refill was requested. The Coco Grill and Sandpiper Bar are good for the quick pizza, pennini sandwhich, pasta, & burgers. Rooms are o.k., a place to shower & sleep. We were there for the sun, sand, and sea and the Divi had it all. Most guests are friendly and always have a story to tell you. If you want a relaxing vacation at a resort that's easy to get around that's affordable, this is the place to go!!!!

There really is NOTHING to complain about when speaking of this resort. Although it is NOT a HIGH END resort we got everything that we expected for the price we paid. 9 out of 10 employees were fantastic so we didn't mind the 1 of 10 that were clearly not happy with their jobs! The beach was AMAZING, as was the water! The beds could be upgraded perhaps and it wouldn't hurt them to install central air (which probably not possible at this point) or maybe update their room air conditioners. They work fine but are unbelieveably noisy! Our friends chose the Tamarijn, THEY MADE THE WRONG CHOICE! The beach at the Tam is bad! Very small, lotts of rocks and tons of sea weed!!!! Though they had 2 more fine dining restaurants than we did getting from our resort to theirs for dinner was a snap. We ate at the Paparazzi one nite.....nothing special, didn't feel the need to go back to try the asian restaurant. The res parrot )at the Divi) was very nice. Buffets were different nightly and at lunch but the same for breakfast daily. It was nice the food was higher quality than I have experienced at the Occidental, Aruba and in St Lucia at Sandals. Drinks were great, bartenders friendly and always happy to accomodate! And remembertipping is appreciated but not required! We tipped 1 here and there and at the end of our stay gave the individuals who provided us with the best service 5 a person. Skip the cabs and use the bus when you can. The cab fees are set by the gov't but the cabbies know there is no way to track how much they are charging as they have no meters. Bus is cheaper!

The resort was a total disappointment! The resort has lived way past its useful life, it should either be totally renovated, or torn down. The staff was tolerant of our stay, and did nothing extra for you. The food was just average. The grounds at the resort were unkept, with glasses and trash laying about. The rooms were awful! A plus was the beach, which was just foot steps from the bar. For the cost of this vacation we feel that we could have gotten a lot more for our money someplace else!

Very disappointed with the hotel. We stayed in beach-front room which was really old and unpleasant.Yes, it was only steps away from the white-sand beach. However, we felt we've arrived at some cheap motel room with non-existent furniture. The bathroom was tiny and very old, the kind where you really don't want to touch anything. The A/C unit was really old and VERY VERY LOUD. A sign on the slider door said that we must lock up for the night. The problem was that there is no window in the room, so you have no choice but to sleep with the super loud air-conditioner running all night long. It is my personal opinion that this hotel's three-star rating should re-evaluated.

Check-in was late because our room was ready due to the AC not working, so we got switched to another room that didn't compare to what we paid for. I insisted the AC get fixed asap and we got moved to our original room on day 2. We waited for 45 mins for the maintenance guy to open up the tennis courts for us. Apparently, he was the ONLY person who can unlock the doors. This was after asking the front desk 4 times to get someone over there. Overall, we had a great time but the staff at the front desk & concierge weren't overly helpful or quick. The bar and restaurant staff was awesome however. It seemed we were always telling them what to do instead of them suggesting what they'd do to accomodate us, the guests. We've been to Dreams Cancun and we liked the service better then. But the beach, water, and weather in Aruba is much more awesome. There is always a breeze!

My wife and I stayed at the Divi on our honeymoon from 10/19/2008-10/25/2008. First and foremost the staff is extremely pleasant and willing to accomodate 100%. The resort itself is beautifully well kept in all regards. Food and drinks are readily available at numerous locations all day/night. The snack bars are a very accessable and convenient, open all day at several locations. Bars are scattered all over the resort and these alone are worth the price of admission. You simply cannot beat the value you receive when staying here. The restaraunts are a nice change of pace and they have many to offer including italian and japanese cuisine. The breakfast, dinner and lunch buffets were our favorite as you can find such a wide assortment of good food throughout. The pools were nice but with the crystal clear carribean stretching only feet away, it's hard to stay out of the water. The white sand beach is very clean and not ever crowded. There are plenty activities for families and kids, the tamarijn seems to lean more towards the kid aspect but with the two resorts being so close it's hardly and inconvenience. The rooms are very clean and easy to move about with nice terraces connecting, overlooking the resort. Room service is quick and efficient. I would reccomend requesting a king size bed as we arrived to find two twin beds. The Hertz rental people next to the concierge were very nice, we rented a jeep and explored the island. Overall the resort is nothing short of fantastic. We are already discussing a possible return sometime in the future.

This was our second visit to Aruba. The first time my husband and I stayed at the Tamarijn, the Divi's sister property, which is located right next door. The Tam is more kid-friendly. The Divi is a little quieter and we'll stay there again when we go back. After booking a gardenview room we contacted the Divi and requested to stay gardenview second floor in the Veranda building. It's located in a more private setting on the property and has its own pool. We were very surprised when they not only honored our request, but also sent to our room a bottle of wine and two glasses for our anniversary. I had mentioned when requesting the room that we were celebrating our 25th anniversary early and the staff must have remembered. The room was classified as gardenview, but it was actually oceanview. While the Divi has undergone alot of renovations and upgrades that have enhanced the property, we did have an ant problem in our room. Other than that, it was beautiful and the maid service was good. The Divi offers a wide variety of food at various venues. The buffet does not require reservations and the food there is average. If you want to eat at any of the restaurants on the property, you have to make reservations. I suggest doing that at check-in. The staff is really friendly at the Divi, but don't expect to be waited on hand and foot. If you want a drink at the crowded bars, you just need to shout it out and someone will make it for you. Remember, you are sharing the resort with hundreds of other vacationers so be patient. The Divi is located about 20 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from downtown. Taxis are about 20.

All staff were very friendly. Really, it's true! Location was great, clean, convenient, plenty to do, or not. A great place for everyone! You can relax, enjoy activities, it's pretty much like you own the place for a week.

My husband and I stayed at the Divi Aruba All-Inclusive from 8/31/08 - 9/6/08 and loved every minute of it. The resort is in great condition and it literally steps away from the beach and ocean. The resort has recently been remodeled and they did a terrific job. The food at all of the restaurants was great and the alcoholic beverages were made to perfection. When we go back to Aruba we will definitely be staying here again!

This was our second time vacationing at the Divi. It was even more wonderful than we remembered. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was great. The pools were sparkling clean. The ocean is right at your doorstep. The rooms are out dated but it doesn't matter when you step out of your sliding glass door and see the beautiful view of the sea. I highly recommend this resort. I will be returning!

The location is spectacular, unbeatable. From the moment you walk into the lobby you feel the openenss and Island Time and relaxation begin to take hold. We arrived before actual check in time so our room wasn't yet ready, but we were checked in and were able to eat and sit at the bar for cocktails. Being right on the beach was fantastic. Our room was very clean and neat, it could have used some upgrading but we didn't care, we're on vacation and everything worked and was again clean and neat. The food was very good at the buffet with many varieties for every taste. The Red Parrot was a wonderful finer dining experience. What makes this place great is that you can go to the Divi Tamarijn right up the beach to eat and drink as well giving you plenty of variety. We never even went into town we were so satisfied with the food and entertainment at the resort. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. There is something about just walking up to the bar and having the bartender hand you the drink before asking. With the exception of the rooms needing a little work, this place is the best. We plan on coming back for our wedding next year to see everyone again, they took such excellent care of us.

going back for our third time. The resort and staff are great. Yes, the hotel is older, but is well worth the money. Staff was always friendly and a lot of fun. Are now on first name basis with a lot of the staff, and when we went back for our second visit, most even remembered our names (a whole year later) that is true service. Can't wait till this years vacation. Food is also good and a big selection, theme buffets were good. Shows were a lot of fun, they get everyone involved and you have a good time if just watching or getting involved. Highly recommend to everyone.

A 3-Star rating is appropriate for the age and general look of the hotel but the location right on the beach was the BEST!!!. Staff were very helpful and courteous, food was excellent, and everything was kept extremely clean. We would suggest more variety in nightly shows as girating young people in flashy costumes were entertaining but got monotonous after 6-7 nights.

We went to the Divi All Inclusive for 8 days in April 2009 for our honeymoon... and it was wonderful! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful! The hotel and beach areas were always spotlessly clean! And, the front desk helped us make the most of our trip by assisting us with planning snorkeling, snuba, going on the Atlantis submarine, visiting the Natural Bridge & Pool, and many other activities! Our honeymoon in Aruba was a time in our lives that we will never forget... it was perfect!

We were first given a garden view room in the 700's. The bathroom was terrible and the room needed a bunch of TLC. My wife was not happy. Went to the desk and told them we were not happy. They offered room in the 500's. Much better! Wife is happy. Food was very good, not five star but just fine. Food and drink is plentiful with no waiting. The beach was just great. Much bigger and less crowded than those at the high rise hotels.I would go back to Divi All Inclusive anytime.
