Lovely hotel with good facilities

Everything about this place was wonderful except for the service of the front desk. It is obvious that they get the majority of their custom from Asian tourists so will cater to all of their needs before anyone else is considered. This was poor. All guests should be treated with the same courtesy!! The facilities were wonderful the pool, grotto spas and sauna were very well maintained and great. The rooms were very well kept and clean we would definitely stay here again.

a good hotel with good facilities.the grotto spas & sauna weren't up to much.bit dirty with ants all over and bits floating in water considering rest of hotel was clean.good choice of self service breakfast in a morining in restaurant.staff on reception helpful.close to some tourist points.5 mins in taxi to rotorua centre.

The Staff at this Hotel were brilliant, we encountered a problem and this was sorted out immediately with enormous consideration to our needs and would recommend this hotel to others!

If there was air conditioning in the room I couldn't find it although they did have a fan on the ceiling. The room was exceptionally hot. Otherwise everything else was fine.

All the staff were very friendly polite and helpful.The pool was just the right temperature and the spa large.The buffet breakfast was excellent--very varied for all tastes with the most delicious croissants outside France! Only downside was the bed was rather saggy(room 508)-the bed near the window and the bar shut too early(around 8.30)though the hotel was quiet the night we were there,which might explain that. We will definitely stay there again when we visit Rotorua next.

The hotel was a little older and slightly dated. Despite the temperate weather, needed air-conditioning. We were forced to open the window and smell that lovely sulphur air. Unfortunately the facilities like the sauna and hot grotto spa's were a little dated and infested with ants. The hotel itself was beggining to show its age. The Japanese bar was really enjoyable though. I probably would chose to stayperhaps closer to the lake and away from the sulphur stink of hot springs.

I was pleasantly surprised by the facilities and the staff were very accommodating(particularly Tracey the weekend housemaid). I would definately rebook when next in Rotorua and recommend it to other travellers- you won't be disappointed!

Classy, older style motel. Very polite helpful staff. Right near a geyser, drive into the centre of town.

There was an Asian gentleman (sorry I didn't get his name) at reception who was simply memorable for all the right reasons. I wish all places had staff like this man - he was helpful, attentive and most of all super friendly and had a lovely smile/demeanour! A helpful suggestion - please turn off the musack that plays at night in the hallways - for us light sleepers it can be an unnecessary background noise. We will be back!

Highly recommend this hotel.Very friendly staff,lovely room.Only thing I will say,you are better off hiring a car to get around,as the hotel is down the end of the main street(2km each way).Would stay there again.

We had a beatutiful weekend at the Distinction Hotel. A bit of advise - rather put the families with little children on the lower levels and the oldies like us (who love to sleep in) on the top floors. Thank you for a great time and your friendliness.

Very nice hotel with wonderful staff. A late arrival on the first night and the staff called the bar restartuant and asked them to stay open for us so that we could eat. Highly recommended!
