oms smaller than other deluxe resorts such as Polynesian. Small takeout cafe, often a long wait. Whispering Canyon Cafe was GREAT although somewhat expensive.

We stayed during the week of February 7. We had requested a courtyard view room and got one but it had 2 huge pillars in the way and you had to stand to see the courtyard, not quite the balcony setting we were expecting. We did complain to the front desk and they moved us after the first night to a room with a much better view. Other than that, the stay was great. Food was very good, although their signature restaurant is quite expensive. Pool area was very nice and the boat to the Magic Kingdom was very also very helpful. Buses supposedly run every 20 minutes but it seemed like we always just missed our bus so we seemed to wait 20 minutes a lot. Only thing better would be if the monorail made a stop there.

We opted for the 1 Bedroom, for 3 adults and 1 toddler. We're very glad we did. It was great having a bedroom to put the little one down in for naps and bedtime when the grown-ups wanted to stay up. The staff is friendly, the property and rooms are immaculate. It was really nice to be able to hop back on the boat from Magic Kingdom for an afternoon nap so the 2 year old could be happy and raring to go for another round of disney magic in the evening. Staying in a villa has absolutely ruined me for staying in any other type of accommodation.

Upon our arrival to the hotel, I didn't have to wait long to check-in. However the man at the reception desk greeted me saying "Welcome to Wilderness Lodge, now go home through the same doors you came in." At this point I had only said 'hello' so I'm not sure what prompted this- a previous guest? or just a bad day. I mentioned that it didn't seem like a 'Happiest place on earth' way to greet someone but then he pointed out that Disney was the second happiest and that the happiest was the company that recently gave their employees a million dollar bonus. Good point. Rest of the interaction went okay he even upgraded me which I was surprised by b/c of the first interaction with him. The hotel itself is very nice, great location to MK and it offers two boat options -one is to the MK and the other is to the other hotels on the Lagoon- this includes the Contemporary Hotel so you can essentially avoid the buses if you wanted to. The staff all seemed to need a refresher course on customer service friendliness. After leaving several notes for the maid we finally talked to her to ask if she could leave towel animals for our child. Our Mickey doll was never arranged so it looked like he was doing something while we were gone (something Disney is or what we thought known for). The front desk gave me a hard time about picking up my tickets I ordered online through them. And then of course my odd experience checking in. It was almost like we came right after some nasty customers so that when they saw us coming they weren't happy to see us. Shame on Disney. Bathroom in the room was dark and cramped. Another annoyance was that there was a trigger that would turn on a very loud fan every time you walked in to the toilet/shower area - our 4 year old was scarred of fan b/c of how loud it was.

The Wilderness Lodge resort is breathtaking! I have stayed at Disney resorts every year since 1995 and this resort - by far - is the best. BUT the water in this hotel is AWFUL. It smells really bad...so bad in fact that we used bottled water to brush our teeth with. The hotel uses the same water to make coffee (at the on-site restaurants & room service) which makes it taste just awful! We complained about this but was told "that's Florida water and its like that everywhere". Be prepared to spend big bucks to eat at any three of the on-site restaurants. What we do every year is go to Walmart as soon as we get off the plane and buy a couple cases of bottled water, pop, fresh fruit, cereal, a quart of milk, a quart of oragne juice, snacks and beer. There is a small bar sized fridge in every room so you can keep your Walmart grabs nice and cold. This saves you quite a bit of money. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel but bring your own bottled water and/or hitup Walmart or Target in advance of your arrival.

i had to spend the better part of 2 hours over 1 night and 1 morning arguing with the front desk over a charge....it seems that orbitz screwed up my reservation with disney and i had to fight to get a charge off my bill....i had to call visa and threaten to dispute the charge in order to convince the front desk to take a charge off my bill i am extremely disappointed in orbitz and disney for the inconvience this presented me and my family shame on you

We have stayed at Disney's Wilderness Lodge five times and every time has been great!! The staff have been wonderful...in fact, the last time we went, we were given an upgrade on our room-we had a wonderful courtyard view. If you love the Magic Kingdom, you are a short boat ride away. You can also take a boat to the Contemporary Resort and jump on the monorail. At night, you can view the electric light parade from the beach OR your balcony, if you have the right room. This is the parade that floats on boats. The hotel itself is masive but not too big. The restaurants are pricey but the food is good. They have a fast serve restaurant that serves hamburgers, pizza, salads and sandwhiches and if you purchase your Disney mug, unlimited drinks for your entire stay. The Wilderness Lodge is beautiful and I would recommend it to anyone!!!!

My Fiance' and I stayed at the Wilderness Lodge for Ironman Florida 70.3. The loation was great and the hotel was pretty neat. no complaints except for the food choices. There is really no where else to eat in close proximity besides the at the hotel. The food was not bad but it was pricey. But Thats Disney.

Meals to expensive.Be prepared to spend at least $70.00 to $150.00 for 2 per meal. No hot water on the day we were leaving for our showers. Blood on pillow and broken coffee pot. I cut my finger. People at Animal Kingdom were kind of rude. Other than that it was good.

We prepaid and booked our trip to WDW in advance. We requested to have an early check-in because the only non-stop flight from Las Vegas was a red-eye, we also requested a room in a corner part of the hotel. When we had these requests granted to us last time when we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge last year, so we didn't think it was a problem...our mistake Well, so much for last year the front desk staff was not understanding they told us every room was booked and that we could should go to another resort a "moderate" one when we paid for a "deluxe" resort this was the resort we requested and now they did not care where we went (On other note we only had one piece of our luggage because the disney magical express only picked up one and missed the other so going to another resort well god only knows where it would have ended up). It seemed that the front desk staff was bothered and stressed and wanted us to go somewhere else. The front desk staff told us we would have to wait until after 3pm to check-in mind you when we got there it was 6am(a 9+hour wait) then when the front desk manager checked her computer conviently there was a room available. but wait at an additional $60 per night which she said was an "upgrade" it was not an upgrade it was room by the elevators which we heard all night the bathroom fan ran all the time and there were bugs in the room, some upgrade huh. In conclusion beware of any requests you make with disney because they WILL NOT BE HONORED!!! as a result of this trip we will never stay or vist WDW again...

Well, it's a Disney resort, so it's going to be pretty good. Love the decor, love the amenities. But if you're trying to wedge 4 people into the basic room, it's a little tight - the suites are much larger, but they're seriously spendy, and you're probably better off heading over to Saratoga Springs if you want the suite. For the first time ever at Disney, we got a dirty room, and rather than a sincere apology, we got a mostly indifferent response. Almost as if saying "Hey, it's a huge hotel, give us a break if you have a big pile of potato chips at the edge of the bed." Still, you cannot beat the convenient location - right next to Magic Kingdom, but if you're renting a car, follow the signs CAREFULLY, as it isn't marked well, and we missed the exit once. Love the Whispering Canyon Cafe - very fun dining, but make your reservations before you arrive. I'd recommend it for kids, but next time, we'll try a different Disney hotel.

"Great place to stay. Wonderful hotel design, very clean. Clean and quit rooms, little small, but nice. Clean and fun size pool, boat rental with easy access. Bus transportation was a little slow to some parks. Easy boat and monrail transportation. Its a do over!"

What a wonderful hotel. It is one of the best Disney experiences ever, and for our honeymoon it was the perfect choice.

"When I first got closer to the hotel, I was so happy with the beautiful grounds....flowers, wilderness, hotel. When I first went into the main part of the resort, my jaw dropped and eyes wide open. I was more happy, surprised, overwhelmed with the villas where I stayed with the family. It truly felt like I was at home"

Hotel amenities were fine, great pool area. Liked the fact that the a snack area was open until 12 PM everynight. The hotel linked our Disney tickets to our room pass - so we were able to charge food and gifts to our room and pay one bill (great idea as we knew exactly what we spent on our trip). The things I didn't like was 1: refrigerator wasn't cold enough. 2: maid service should change the sheets when they get dirty, . I had fallen and cut my knee which in turn bleed on sheets durning the night 3: it seemed like only one boat went from the park to the hotel after 10 PM (closing)- taking an hour to get from the park to the hotel. There should be at least 2 boats running at night back and forth to the hotel.
