STINKY Discovery Inn in Napa, California. - - 2009-10-18 Do not ever stay at the Discovery Inn in Napa, California. The room reeked of dog urine, after the powdery room spray that burned my sinuses wore off. It was so bad I could not sleep. At 4:30 am, I packed up and left. Horrible! Manage denied everything, no refund, blamed it on my dog and was quite scary to talk to at 5AM.

We spent a great deal of time in Glen Ellen, and Sonoma. We visited with friends and wineries in the area. This hotel was farther away then it lead on to be on the advertisement. The room was so small, uncomfortable and expensive compared to others we had stayed in.

The location. Smelled a little bit damp. Cheap. Accommodating.

I booked this hotel at the last minute and I was surprised by what I saw when I got there. There is a reason why there are no clear photos of this place. I was not expecting a drive up motel where your car is parked less than a foot from your hotel door. Everything was very small and outdated and the bed was stiff as a board. To claim that they serve breakfast would be an overstatement. The price was good compared to the other hotels in the area, but not for what get.

Needed an inexpensive place to stay in Napa for 1 night. We weren't planning on spending any time at the hotel, just needed a place to sleep. Discovery fit the bill by providing an inexpensive place to sleep but don't expect any frills. The room had an overbearing air-freshener smell, but everything was clean. Fluorescent lighting made the room feel clinical. On the plus side, there was a mini-fridge, microwave and cable tv. It's fine if you just need a place to crash, but don't go here if you want a real hotel experience.

Surprisingly comfortable inside for the stark exterior. If you are looking for a room to sleep in and get ready in, then the Discovery Inn is for you. If you need anything else from your hotel stay, then perhaps it's not the right fit.

We had a nice stay, the rooms were very clean. The towels weren't as thick as I would have liked, and there wasn't enough kleenex, but the owners were very accommodating, and overall it was a good stay.

Very close to where I needed to take a bus early next day. Very expensive for a motel. Very clean rooms, nice bathrooms. Pleased with the quick breakfast that was included.

Very hospitable owners, in a very convenient location. The lighting is a bit dim, but good clean rooms ? minus the chemical smell that is a bit strong?maybe an air freshener or cleaner?

Absolutely nothing. Unhygienic and in violation of basic health codes. Don't book this hotel. The tub was gross, the room clearly hadn't been cleaned, the sheets were dirty, and the A/C was very noisy.

Very comfortable beds, and very clean. We were exhausted when we arrived and really appriciated the comfortable beds and hot shower. We also liked the fan in the bathroom for noise to help us rest comfortably. We would stay again the next time we are in town.

Uhhhh. The color of it was nice. Mold in the bathroom, there was a leak from the ceiling when it rained, leaky toilet, trash right out our front door, sloped floor, and spiders on walls. Our room had mold growing on the walls and ceiling in the bathroom. When it rained, there was a leak from the ceiling in the bathroom. The toilet had a small leak which ended up on the floor. They were remodeling, unprofessional, in some other room, and placing all the trash right out in front of our room. I have pictures of the mold and trash if someone would like to see them.

Cleanliness, breakfast, covered parking, & bed was good. Shower too small. Requested extra hangers, but they were not brought. A very old motel, which has been remodeled. All things considered, reasonably nice for the price.

Nothing. This is the worst motel I have ever stayed in. This was the biggest disappointment ever in my traveling experience.

Can park next to room. Overpriced. whomever maintains rooms does not do good work. I was very unhappy with what I paid to stay there at this hotel. I had an employee with me (2 people) and they would not allow me to have 2 beds in room, unless I were to pay difference in cost to "upgrade". When I called the hotel as an anonymous potential customer, they gave me a different price than what was listed on their web site. When I told him that was a higher price than what is listed on site, he said he can do it for that price on the site. I think they are dishonest people to deal with. We were not happy with this hotel and stay. It was a little disappointing this stay.
