There are several passes through the Swartberg Range, the most famous of which is the Swartberg Pass that runs between Oudtshoorn in the south and Prince Albert in the north. The pass is not tarred and can be a little treacherous after rain, but offers spectacular views over the Little Karoo and the Great Karoo to the north. Other famous activities in the Oudtshoorn area are The Cango Caves, Wilgewandel Holiday Farm, Cango Wildlife Ranch and Rus and Vrede Waterfall, which all are within a radius of 15 km from Die Fonteine. Within walking distance from the guest house you reach the Cango Ostrich Farm and Karusa Winery. So come and enjoy Die Fonteine and everything what makes Oudtshoorn so famous. The owner can help organise trips to the Karusa Winery(200 metres away), where guests can enjoy wine tasting with a cheese platter. It is also possible to order a picnic basket for a trip to the Rust and Vrede Waterfall(15km).
