Restaurant excellent. Service very good, however the room staff can not make a bed or were learning how to short sheet a bed, I'm not sure which. Despite this I would certainly recommend the hotel and may consider switching my company hotel in Canberra to the Diamant.

Smart, clean room and common areas. Room on the small side but well equiped with a great shower room and a B&O TV on the wall.

On our recent vacation to the Canberra region, we chose the Diamant as a new hotel that looked clean and centrally located. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the location was easy for making walking trips as well as driving to sites, the food in all restaurants was very good, and wine bar super comfortable. Being a new hotel, you can see that the staff makes every effort to make your stay comfortable. Any problems that we had were taken care of to our satisfaction. We are not sure that this would qualify as a 5 star hotel, there was no one to help with the luggage at check-in or departure. Also, the knowledge of the staff of the general area was lacking, however they try very hard to be helpful. Poor planning by the room design team makes the bathroom very cold for the winter, but Canberra seems to be a city more suited for vacation at other times of the year. Overall, the Diamant was a pleasure to stay with over several days. We would recommend this hotel to our friends.

The hotel is neat, however, definitely not a 5 star quality. The location suited us as we needed something near by London Circuit, but for traveller, this is quite a walk to the city centre and does not really have much near by. The delux room, which was $40 more than the standard room certainly has very little to show for its extra charge.

We had a lovely 3 night stay in this hotel. The staff were very friendly and the food in the adjoining restaurant was superb. We will definately stay here again.

Good location, parking OK, expensive internet for 24hrs but provide free wifi connection in the lobby. Good cafe - du jour - for breakfast!! Great rooms. Would stay here again!

We had read from previous reviews that the rooms were small and yes they are however it is very compact and was perfect for our two night stay to attend a conference in Canberra. We would stay there again for sure.

The Diamant is an excellent new Canberra facility, with a funky feel, gracious and friendly staff, a civilised clientele and upmarket appointments in the rooms, restaurants and public spaces. Unreservedly recommended for its location in close proximity to the Benchmark Wine Bar and other restaurants worth visiting. The hotel is great value, with a tranquil atmosphere - a relief from high rise hotels of fading quality and soulless Kingston apartments.

Rooms were very well appointed; I also really liked the interior design, excellent wine bar with tapas at the back of the hotel. Excellent security. Service at the wine bar was fantastic. Next time I go to Canberra I will definitely be staying there.

Our room was small, containing little spaceafter the queen sized bed. But the room was comfortable, and the bed was easy to sleep in, the sheet quality being excellent.Plunger coffee is provided, but charged at $4 per sachet. Internet access is charged at $7 per hour. The B & O TV is excellent, and provided excellent visual and audio entertainment.The bedside lighting was provided by efficiently adjustable Italian lights which made it very easy for each party to read individually without disturbing the other.The bathroom was attractive, with excellent lighting. We had a moderately severe plumbing leak from the basin tap, which caused water to leak all over the basin and onto the floor whenever the basin tap was turned on. We did report this problem to reception, but it was not repaired, or mentioned again before we left 36 hours later. The shower recess was roomy, but had no facility to hold the soap, which had to be put on the wet floor, creating a rather slippery patch.

Intimate alternative to a big hotel. Only criticisms are that rooms are a bit small and restaurant opens later for breakfast on weekends than we needed. Otherwise helpful staff and a pleasant location. Would certainly return if in Canberra.

Perfectly pitched for us- all the 5-star features you want without all the bell-boys and other rich goof-ball stuff you don't want. Most comfortable beds ever encountered. When the B & O remote is the same as the one you have at home, this has to be the right place!

Very nice and new. Great location - good conversion of old building. Du Jour restaurant was very good value. Adjoining Flint is also extremely good (though priced to match). Thoroughly recommend. Slight disappointments were missed dirty mug and no hand-soap after cleaning one day. No newspapers delivered to room, which is very surprising given Canberra's business travel population. Corridors are very funky but are dark to navigate (black interior paint, no windows) despite the lighting.

Very nice hotel, but need to supply instructions on how the air conditioner works. The in room guide said there should be a remote but there was none, and the touchpad which controlled the air was not intuitive. We had hot air blowing on us during the peak of summer.
