Review of Hotel Design MetropoleWe felt the room was rather small for a 4-star hotel. However, it was very clean and perfectly adequate. The central location was perfect and the staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. The breakfast was very good. We enjoyed our stay.

A fabulous find in Prague old townWe have just come back from the most amazing trip to this hotel which we found via late rooms. We had room 806 on the top floor at the back of the hotel and the view over prague to the castle and many churches was just fab. The room had everything that you could want and after staying in some of the top hotels in the world the friendliness at this hotel from the front desk to the maids was so refreshing. We could not fault it. The free breakfast was brilliant with a good range of hot and cold food, with omlettes being whisked up fresh with whatever filling you chose. Obviously not all rooms would have the view that we had, those at the front looked over the main street and Tesco, but this would not deter us from booking again. A lovely lovely hotel at a fantastic price!

Lovely room in a central location. A bit small, but had a lovely view - shame it felt a bit cold. Breakfast was substantial and the staff very pleasant.

The hotel was in a very good location, close to the train station and the old town. The room wasn't huge but was nice & modern. The buffet breakfast was very good.

we stayed in this Hotel for a long winter week end break. December 2008. Really clean hotel and very friendly staff. Well situated for everything central. Opposite TESCO and on tramline circuit. 5 minutes from Wenceslas Square and 10 minutes from Old Town Square. Bedroom very compact but spotless and comfortable. View from window was of a large wall about 10 feet away, although only time spent in room was for sleeping. Would highly recommend this hotel for a short break.

Just arrived back from a 4 night stay at the Metropol Hotel Prague and must say my stay there was excellent, extremely clean and modern room, (it even had a bath and shower) lovely and warm which we were worried about as it is very cold in Prague. Although it is on a very busy street you couldn't here the noise at all in the room. Slept soundly every night as the bed was so comfortable. The only thing I would say on the negative side would be the size of the room, but for a short stay it is fine.

The Metropol was very well located and the extremely helpful reception staff spoke excellent English. The creative design made maximum functional use of what was actually a small bedroom. The bathroom area was impressive, with a good shower and the sleeping space was functional with comfortable beds that incorporated funky mini lights attached to the bedhead. The elaborate blind mechanism didn't work, allowing street lights [then daylight] into the room, but this was a minor inconvenience in an otherwise very fine room. The extensive buffet breakfast was of good quality. At the LateRooms rate, this seemed like very good value.

Very modern and clean and friendly with a great atmosphere. Everyone was very helpful and polite and we couldn't have wished for a better stay. The bar downstairs was good value and you really felt part of the city without it being imposing. The rooms were quiet and contained everything we needed and the carpets were lush!

The value for money was this hotel's best feature. Nice and quiet rooms. Small rooms. Reasonable breakfast that definitely fills you up! Very modern decor throughout. Centrally located. Friendly staff.

Excellent hotel in an ideal location right in the heart of Prague centre. Fantastic, modern decor. Excellent service (especially from the beautiful Erika). Good quality breakfast and evening meals. I'd certainly recommend this hotel.

Hotel was very well located and the staff provided an excellent service. I used the hotel to book a car to collect me from/to the airport. Service excellent. Rooms a little on the small size for a long stay but for a few days then the hotel offers excellent value for money.

The hotel was practically brand new & the furnishings were basic. The bedsheets, toiletries and pillow cases were not changed or replenished over the 2 nights we stayed there. However, the location, service & buffet breakfast were good.

Hotel Metropol is in a great location of the Old Town, so close to all the sights - Town Clock & Square, Charles Bridge, Wenceslas Sq - we walked everywhere. Surrounded by some excellent authentic Czech bars / beer halls. The hotel staff that greeted us were extremely friendly & went beyond the norm in checking us in (specifically the night staff , thanks guys).Clean modern rooms, comfy beds,. We visited in July 07 (not long after the opening in June) and a few things were still being sorted - the wall mounted flat screen TV (great) provided only German reception - no Czech TV, air con was sorted after our first night.Highly recommend the Metropol and we will def be staying again when visiting Praha.

Very nice and new hotel in an ideal location close to the old town, Vltava river and the shopping streets. Very good transport links by metro and tram to any part of Prague. Rooms are not huge, but contained everything we needed and they were very clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was comprehensive. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for excellent value for money in the very center of Prague.
