We had a good time

Upon arriving at the hotel, we were on line to check in. When the person in front of us was done, we walked up to the counter. None of the 4 front desk personnel spoke to us. After a few minutes, we had to get their attention to check in. After getting our room key, we are ready to have a wonderful time on our family vacation. As we climb up the stairs to room 327 we notice the hotel looked quite run down and a bit musty smelling. The smell got worst as the air got warmer on the way up. When we get to our room, it too is run down. The door and furniture was peeling in the kitchen, the refrigerator didn?t get cold despite putting it on max. We discovered roaches were in the room that evening (babies and big ones). The bathroom was dirty in the tub and rusted around the drain. The ceiling was also a mess. The room was so nasty and uncomfortable to stay in. I tried to leave the room and relax on the balcony but chairs were ripped up and torn and unable to be used. When we were leaving to the beach one morning we saw the maid outside our room and told her we?d be gone so she could do our room. She asked ?what needs to be done?? On another day when we returned from the beach and noticed they had ?done? our room it wasn?t vacuumed. Being at the beach of course you bring sand up no matter how well you shower off. My husband asked the maid about vacuuming and she said it was broken and he asked can you get another one and she said no. What kind of hotel operates like this??? We were woken up at 1:15 am one morning by the front desk asking us if we ordered a pizza. On check out day, a maid came to our room at 10:15 asking us you are checking out today right? I said yes, what time is check out? She said 11:00. I was shocked she was at my door before 11:00 asking us to leave. We were happy to leave this HORRIBLE memory behind. One morning, I went to work out in the gym that was dingy with garbage on the floor. The equipment Gazelle and Elliptical trainer didn?t even work. The

The hotel staff was apathetic and not concerned at all about your comfort or well-being. The room was sup[posed to be a Jacuzzi Suite and it was Filthy! The bathroom floor hadn't been mopped and there was hair everywhere. The floor of the room it self felt damp and dirty. The bedsheets were stained. The indoor pool was not chemically treated well and the stairs in and out were dirty and moldy. The stairwell itself smelled of urine and had trash everywhere. The outside pool had cigarette butts and trash and beer cans all around the back and side areas, not to mention some broken glass on pool deck. The bar/restaurant smelled of burnt fry oil and the juices and mixes sat on counter top unrefrigerated all day. The Sunset side of the hotel is the worst side to stay on. Even though we were 5 stories up, the road traffic made it near impossible to get a good nite sleep. The AC ran off and on like a monster so at nite you would either feel hot and sweaty or cold and clammy. This place needs to be shut down!!! It sure looks like it hasn't been cleaned well or painted since Spring Break....1987 that is!

The Desert Inn was a good place for the money we paid. The amenities are kind of old but they are in good condition. The hotel staff was very helpful and the maids did a great job cleaning the rooms. The location was great along with the full sized olympic pool.
