This was the cheapest 4 star hotel in Tuscon and the Casino was separate from the hotel so I thought it would be fine to visit with my 4 year old daughter for Spring Break. First off this hotel is in a terrible area of Tuscon with grafitte everywhere. The hotel itself was nice and clean as well as the room and the staff was mostly friendly, however what they do not tell you is all the onsite resturants including the buffet are inside the Casino! We did not feel safe leaving the hotel at night for dinner so we had to go through a thick veil of smoke and drunk people just to get the buffet which was terrible and not worth the trip! The exspensive Steakhouse was a little better with big portions but still through the smoke. My daughter was getting sick so I asked for my money back to leave and they would not return it or even give me a small credit. The highlight of the trip was the pool which was nice but filled with more smoking people. If you have kids or do not smoke stay away from this hotel! I would not return and was waiting to go home and we both ended up sick! For what i paid we could have stayed at a nice resort!

The hotel room was quiet and furnished very modern with neutral earthtones. enjoyed having the refrig in room. The bed was very comfortable. Hotel staff were very polite and helpful.

My sister and I spent two nights at the Desert Diamond Hotel and Casino and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The hotel staff was exceptional. From check in to check out, every person on the hotel staff was warm, friendly, and extremely helpful. The food was reasonably priced and excellent as was the service. I had an excellent ribeye at the Steakhouse and the shrimp scampi was terrific. We felt perfectly safe and secure in this hotel. The employees all went the extra mile to make certain we enjoyed our stay. There were plenty of slot machines and the black jack dealers were all great. Neither of us had played black jack before, were a bit intimidated by the game, but the dealers qucikly put us at ease, made it fun, and taught us the strategy to win. On our last night, we especially enjoyed a few drinks in the hotel bar. The bartender was a hoot and kept us laughing the whole time and after we left the bar, even called down to the Steakhouse to make certain her "festive girls" had made it safely. On the last morning, we took a great narrated tour of Tucson in a Lincoln Towncar who dropped us off at the airport to catch our flight home after the tour. If you enjoy smoking, get a room with a balcony. All rooms are nonsmoking, but each balcony has a table, two chairs and an ashtray on it. Smoking is allowed throughout the casino, but nonsmokers do have their own "smoke free" slot machine room. The only regret I have is that we didn't book more nights at the hotel. Next time we will stay longer.

No one smiled the whole time I was there and I could barely get the front desk to speak. The rooms are clean but sparse. Not at all what I thought I was getting--this in no way comares to Las Vegas. I will save my money and go to Las Vegas next time. Food was OK. I wish there was something great I could say about some area, but everything was just mediocre.

My husband and I stayed the Desert Diamond Hotel and Casino for 2 nights to celebrate our anniversary. It was lovely. The room was spacious and comfortable. The ammenities were thought through. We felt so pampered. It was a treat for the spirit. The staff was friendly and seemed happy to be working there. The food we ate was delicious. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the casino. The hotel and casino were sparkling clean. We will return again!
