nice clean hotel in a good location

This hotel had charm and character. The room was beautifully decorated with down comforters, huge pillows and tastefully displayed art based on railroad history. The public areas, including lobby and outside entrance, all featured life-sized white statues of people of various occupations from the 1940's that tied into the historical railroad theme.

New building adjoins renovated Milwaukee Road railroad depot. Depot has been restored to house beautiful banquet room and ice rink. Building decorated in historic motif, like a classic tourist hotel of the 20's. Rooms and staff excellent. Connected to indoor water park. Location is steps from major downtown locations, although not currently connected directly to skyway, we walked from the light rail stop.

I booked the hotel because I was traveling with my kids and they needed a place to blow off steam. The hotel pool looked good and the area looked interesting. I was unable to locate on the website where it said it was closed except for the barest portion of the weekend. Also I misplaced some clothes when switching rooms (they at first put me in a single bed room). I asked for assistance in finding the clothes and told that they would. No one ever got back to me. When I followed up I was told "sorry those staff are in a meeting." Maybe if I could wait around till they were done they would check on it. "No, well give me your phone number and if I get around to checking on it and find anything I call you." The breakfast was good but spendy if not for the kids eat free policy.

Convenient location. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Good food. Location of first floor room near street. FreeWiFi in lobby but not in room. LCD TVwithout HD channels. Convenient location and unique design make this an attractive hotel. Avoid first floor room, if possible, since it is too close to the street. FreeWiFi in lobby but not in room doesn't make sense. I would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay. It was centrally located so our family could find join us more so tan if we stayed at the airport

Attended a conference. Much better room rates than those provided for the conference and still within walking distance. Great restaurant with comparable prices to elsewhere. It is "attached" to the historic depot rather than "the" depot, which was only a bit disappointing.

Beautiful inside. Clean. Good service. Have to pay for swimming, restaurant menu lacking. Very clean, great staff service, WiFi, and valet. The location is a little out of the way, but the service is good. Do not get too excited about the indoor water park. Was nice for my 10 year old, but not for the adults and older children. You'll need to pay for parking and water park entrance. The restaurant was just OK. Did not like the menu selection.

We stayed here for a college visit. convenient to the Guthrie but not a city center locale. Staff was very friendly, the room was clean and great beds. The work out room was nice. But in the end it was all about being close to The Guthrie.

This facility has focused on all of the most important details. All of the staff were attentive to detail, courteous and concerned about us.

The Depot was a good surprise. I was visiting my daughter(college student), and we were able to use the water park facilities, which was a treat for her. I had fun, too. The hotel is conveniently located with many guest services, a couple of which I took advantage.

It was in a historic building - the depot and the decor followed the theme of train travel with historic items from trains. Loved it. The room was a little small though nicely decorated.

The hotel was nice and quiet. The wait was to long for the elevator. There needed to be more elevators.

The staff was very helpful and upgraded us for free. Would highly recommend it.

Historic, beautifully renovated, safe street parking nearby. Onsite parking expensive. The Depot - Renaissance is a beautifully restored hotel in a historic area. The room and amenities were high quality. We were only in the Twin Cities overnight on this trip - next time I would enjoy staying longer at The Depot.

Location to University of Minnesota - great. It was very nice. It looked like a business man's hotel. Underground parking was a plus.

Cery clean, comfortable, in great location. Internet access is not free. Stayed 2 nights with my adult daughter. We loved the bedding and linens, the cleanliness of the room, the ease of parking access ($15/day), and best of all, the central location. We walked everywhere in downtown Minneapolis and really liked being on the river.

Very clean and nice. Location. We wanted to use the pool but they wanted to charge us 10.00 a person to use it. I felt that was a little unnecessary since we had paid for the room the swimming should be included.

The historical context and how it was presented. Noise from the street.
