This hotel was very pleasant and fun. We enjoyed the atmosphere of being on a steamboat. It was nicely located in Sacramento. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a great experience.

It was a different experience for someone who stays in too many hotels. Parking is not convenient and its hard to understand how to part at the boat. Room was very small but it was a boat afterall. The staff was very nice for the hotel. The breakfast order was wrong in the restaurant and a little slow. Parking is the most problematic. Its not easy to figure parking out and you do have to pay for it. To their credit they comp'd my parking because there was not a vallet on duty and I parked myself.

I had a river view room on the 5th deck and it was worth the x-tra cost. I woke to the sound of honkers (geese) and there was only one other guest on the 5th deck (unfortunately they were smoking even though there were no smoking signs). Parking was a surprise in that you had to pay for valet parking at 18.00 per night. I was told that the parking garages charged more though I didn't have time to shop around for parking. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My overall stay was very pleasant and relaxing but most of it was contributed to the hotel having very few guest onboard. The meals were very good and included a choice for vegetarians and you couldn't beat the views!

Thought it would be fun - too much attitude. Too light in room to sleep. Too noisy.

We loved staying on the Delta King boat, and would definately recommend it to friends. It was in a great location in Old Town Sacramento, we enjoyed strolling around town. The rooms were small but charming and the view was spectacular! We enjoyed sitting on deck, right outside our room, looking out on the river. There are no elevators, and the stairs are steep, so I would be cautious if traveling with someone who is elderly or disabled.

Location! Puts you right at the heart of Old Sacramento! NA I loved this place! Couldn't be more convenient to downtown history culture and night life. Everyone on staff was exceptional courteous and helpful! I only stayed one Friday night, but if I ever return to Sacramento I will definately book this for a longer stay!

Have stayed athis hotel twice. Both good experiences. Right on the river, right in the middle of Old Town. Walk to restaurants and shops. Several good restuarants nearby. Staff helpful and professional. Rooms are small, but you are on an old riverboat.. River views are special. Walk to minor league baseball park accross bridge. Rooms near restuarant on board can be niosy. Valet parking. Recommend.

This place has seen Better Service. WE have stayed here before and the Front Desk Staff and Management had been Great. Now it seems like Management and some of the Staff has changed and not for the Better. The Rooms were always kind of Tired and uncomfortable.. But The Staff used to be Friendly and Helpful, so you overlooked it.. Now... I think its time to start staying at The Embassy Suites.

Historic & beautiful, unique hotel on an old riverboat. Parking was confusing and difficult, had to pay for it with no validation. Overall, our experience with the Delta King was great. The room was small, but remember. its a boat. The furnishings and bathroom were all antique, very beautiful and fitting for the Old Sacramento setting. The views of the river at night were great, as well as experiencing old town (not DOWN town) Sacramento. Downtown is a little more sketchy. Old town seems much safer and family-friendly, though. The one drawback to our stay was that the parking was not clearly explained to us by the front desk. No one told us there was a valet until we'd already parked elsewhere, and we ended up paying more for parking than we had to, to a garage attendant that was completely unhelpful and unsympathetic. Other than the parking snafu, the Delta King was great and I'd recommend it to anyone wishing a romantic getaway.

This little hotel is charming! Several of our friends got together for a getaway. We wanted to go somewhere we didn't have to fly and we found this riverboat hotel on the river in Old Sacramento. The staff and service were very friendly and professional. Each of our rooms was about 200 square feet so huge for a boat but smaller than a boring chain hotel. They suited us perfectly because we wanted to spend most of our time in their gorgeous bar, wonderful restaurant, and quaint theater. We did all of that and once we got there we found out they had another show that was a murder mystery dinner! We all sat at the same table and ended up suspecting each other of the murders! We are planning to come back next year again!

Staying on a river boat was a wonderful change of pace. Parking was hard to find. Valet parking was closed by the time we arrived. Fun place with a great river view. Different than a chain hotel. You are staying on a historic ship. No elevators, no ice machine, the bar tender will fill your ice bucket for you. Don't expect all the amenities of a hotel. Enjoy it for what it is. There is dinner theater on board ship during the weekends. We were there when they brought the Delta King into Sacramento years ago. Don't know how they kept the wreck of a ship afloat. The renovation is remarkable we were so pleased to see it restored to it's original grandeur. Not a hotel for families with kids. The rooms are not as big as a standard chain hotel. Showers, not tubs in the bathrooms. A pleasant change made even more so by the room rate. We will return!

I would not recomend this hotel to anyone. We checked into our room Sunday afternoon. Went up to the room and looked around and had to ask ourselves (is this it?) We go a deluxe river view room, the room was small, dusty, and not updated. The bathroom was tiny and antique. It did have a tv in the corner of the room in a cabinet. The parking is 12.00 a night. We did not even stay, we went about 5 miles away and got a nice suite for about 6 cheaper.

Location and history of Delta King. The evening bar tender not friendly, chatting with friends instead of acknowledging new guests to the bar. Kitchen closes at 9 p.m. Unfortunately, the first night my room had a terrible noise. The Manager on Duty tried to help but I ended up with a sleepless night. The next day they did move me and promised me they would talk with the hotel manager to compensate (maybe 1/2 price adjustment) for room. Upon check out it seems no one followed through with the hotel manager and no adjustment could be made. Front desk said it was all documented but there was nothing they could do. I would have to write a letter later. I will not stay there again.

It was a novelty experience being on a docked boat. It is in a bad location for business travelers and noisy. Great for a solo traveler looking for a novel experience in Old town Sacramento. Hotel is a boat that is permanently docked on the river.

They gave away the room on the river I reserved. Hotel staff not that helpful, they tried to charge us for the room we upgraded to, and gave us the cheaper room, restaurant was above average and the only high point of the stay.

We picked the boat because it was away but not to far away. we saw the boat last year but we were already book some where else. we had a nice dinner and said we would do it next time. We planned on one night but they had a 2 night package that was a good value and included the bruch the last day. Parking is hard but they have valet parking which cost $12 and was worth it. We had champagne in our room when we arrived and drank it on the deck outside our room looking at the river. Room was very nice but not huge. Room had a queen size bed. Checking in went well, their staff was friendly and offered suggestions for dinner and gave us a map of Old Sacramento; very helpfull. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There is lots to do in the area on the weekends that is in walking distance. We had an excellent dinner one night in the restaurant, XXX the server was great! The Champange Brunch was very good but I couldn't drink the champagne because I was driving up the hill. Overall a good experience that we will do again.
