I just went to relax and get some sun. I took my daughter with me and she also enjoyed herself. We were able to walk and get some exercise. The whirlpool they had at the hotel was great. The pool was also very nice. It wasn't a noisy hotel.

The hotel was good, the only thing that I would note is; yes the hotel is kind of old but it is in good shape, clean, and nicely upkept. It is located right on the beach, so it was very convenient.

Overall, it was an ok. Hotel to stay there for just two nights and we were thus almost positively surprised. However, I would not recommend it for a longer holiday. Except for the amazingly huge and stunning entrance hall everything looked a bit run down. The first room we were given needed renovation and moreover it smelled. The shower was open (no bathtub or anything), which meant by taking a shower we flooded the complete bathroom and even part of the guest room. The carpet right in front of the bathroom was already soaking wet on our arrival, probably from the last guests before us who had taken a shower there. The keycards did not work properly, not only for our room but also for the other rooms on our floor. Once we tried for about 15 minutes to get into our room. When we finally succeeded and the door seemed to open, we pushed it towards the inside of the room so that it would open, but the wood of the door broke and the door was also not in its hinges any more. We could not close it any more after that. So we were given a new room on another floor. Here the key cards also did not work at first, but one of the receptionists came up and explained us how to work them properly and after that we mostly were able to enter after 1-3 attempts. The second room was nicer than the first and seemed newly renovated. Here we also had a bathroom with bathtub, so no further flooding. Breakfast at the Deauville was good.

This older property is enormous and therefore impossible to keep immaculate but they do a great job. Keeping room/location/service/cost in mind this is a great value. Great jazz club! and a weekly majic show to boot.

I was expecting at least something average but beginning with the location,it was just greatly inconvenient because their was no valet service when we got there (12 pm) and I was told to park at a nearby parking lot approx.3 blocks away. The area is congested and a hang for homeless as well as shady characters. It was not all bad because there were shops and restaurants close by as well as paid parking for about hr (hint) bring quarters. The hotel staff was almost non-existent so make friends with other hotel guests If you want if you want information. The rooms were dark and stuffy and the bed leaves you with an itchy feeling it could be the detergent or if it is bed mites I don't want to know.We stayed here one night which is plenty, then we stayed at The Palms which was a whole lot better and I would recommend looking around ,booking a hotel in advance is your best bet.

Check in and out took a long time due to the volume of guests but I suppose that is to be expected. At first, we were given the wrong keys so that meant going back down and waiting again to get the issue resolved. The housekeeping and repair staff were all using guest elevators so it took forever to get to our room and their bulky equipment made us miss our floors cause we could not get past them. I am not sure where they kept the valet cars, but when we got ours back it was dirty with mud and feathers all over it. On the positive side, the rooms were really nice and clean, we had a good view from the room even though it was not an oceanview room. We were given the bed arrangement we asked for. The room had a small fridge and iron and fan which all came handy. The tiki bar and lobby bar staff were very nice and gave us plenty of tips on how to spend our Miami beach vacation. The pool area was also very large with plenty of lounge chairs. Overall, I would recommend this hotel despite some of its negative points just make sure not to use valet if possible and come and leave early to avoid the registration lines.

In my last expirience of my stay, I felt the following: Deauville's decorations are wonderful; there are many natural, exotic flowers in it's unique style, and i feel the hotel lobby is very comfortable and fancy. The rooms are very clean, secure, and comfortable, but especially, the staff is very kind and efficient. I honestly do recommend this hotel as your next pick/stay when you visit MIAMI BEACH.

This hotel had the ugliest room I've ever stayed in. The air conditioner was loud and leaked. The room overlooked the dumpsters and had roll away beds that were not comfortable. The sink and shower fixtures were labeled incorrectly so when I turned on the shower for hot water I got cold and had to call for maintenance to come up because I had no hot water. The lobby was nice so I was verrrrry surprised that my room was so hideous. Maybe the other rooms are better and more "resort-like". But I've stayed at a Holiday Inn that was a lot better (and no disrespect to Holiday Inn), but they don't advertise their hotel as a "resort".

The hotel lobby was lovely. It was right on the beach. The staff was friendly but also very busy. The hotel was a bit crowded. We didn't get the size bed we wanted. The hotel charges you an extra $15 they don't tell you about when you check in. They said it was a charge for all the extras like valet parking and wireless internet. Neither of which I used. Overall, though, it's a good place to stay. Like I said the fact that it was right on the beach was a huge bonus for me.

This hotel was a dump to say the least. The staff was unfriendly and unprofessional. The valet service stole cash out of our car. The room was horrific and the bed could have passed for a slab of concrete. I would recommend this to everyone.

I had read a lot of negative reviews. I was taking my mother on a special vacation and I had to warn her before we got there. Totally the opposite: the day we left this hotel we got a bit depressed. Staff so friendly, rooms beautiful, lots of restaurants and shops (even 24 hours Walgreen's right across the street) around the hotel. Very clean. The beach was incredibly beautiful as was the pool. No signs of construction or smell of paint. The carpets inside the rooms are brand new. The carpets in hallway a bit old, a little bit dirty, but I had the impression that the hotel has improved allot since some of the other reviews were written, and maybe this will be their next task. Overall, great experience, and we look forward to go back with other family members.

This hotel was not at all like expected. Upon check-in our room's air didn't work. It took over 2 hours before we were transferred to another room. My husband went downstairs to see what the problem was and the hotel clerk made a very rude comment. My husband thought the other hotel clerk said something to this clerk in Spanish, so my husband proceeded to speak to him in Spanish thinking that it would make things easier (my husband grew up in south America). But as soon as my husband started speaking to him, the clerk said I do not speak Spanish and I think everyone coming to this country should speak our language. While I agree to some degree with him, he didn't have to make such a rude comment to my husband, who speaks Spanish and English and Portuguese. When we woke up the next morning, our baby's diaper had leaked and made a rather large, obvious brown spot on the sheets. We typically prefer not to have the sheets changed daily as to conserve water, but of course wanted them changed. To help the housekeeping staff see the spot (as if it wasn't obvious enough), we took the comforter off the bed and folded a large towel under the spot to keep it from seeping through to the mattress. When we returned, we found the bed made but the sheets still on there with the towel taken out! This just topped off a horrible experience with this hotel. And it's a true shame because this hotel is in a great location and is beachfront, but all of its amenities could not make up for all of this. I'm sorry to have to give such a terrible report.

Good price, it's on the beach, but not romantic.
