Hotel de la Fontaine exceeded our expectations! It is a charming little hotel with a back open-air patio with fountain that was great for an afternoon drink. Breakfast is offered but we left too early to partake of it. The one recommendation I would have for the hotel is to have shower curtains installed in the tub area. There is a hand-held shower but the water pressure is high and water went all over. Other than that, bathrooms were clean and adequate. The desk clerk, Marco, spoke English and was most helpful in getting us oriented. He arranged for two separate vans to the airport at different times early in the morning (which were on time!), and helped us learn our way around the city. He was a definite bonus. Best of all, our rooms (4) were ready when we arrived from our cruise at 9:30 am, and gave us the day to explore NIce and surrounding areas. There is also a luggage storage room if needed. Highly recommended.

The hotel is in a good location one street behind Promenade des Anglais and you will pay less than half the price of a room on the promenade. The room we had was on the third floor with small view of courtyard, there is a small lift, staff were helpful. Didn't eat breakfast at hotel but found lovely place for breakfast, turn left out of hotel opp side of road just before Med hotel, Bar des Chauffeurs. Would recommend the De la Fontaine Hotel Nice for short stay where you just want clean room and bed for night in good location.

We had a fantastic stay! We had a room off the courtyard which was quiet and beautifully clean. It is located 1 street from the beach and is within easy walking distance to everything in Nice. We would recommend the De la Fontaine Hotel Nice to anybody.

Welcoming and helpful reception. Room is quiet and bathroom clean, though the carpet could use an update. Regardless, we enjoyed our stay as the hotel is walking distance to the center and most importantly the beaches.

Excellent location. Staff are friendly, welcoming, helpful, and multilingual. Room was small but very clean and tidy, with big comfortable bed. Extra charge for room safe is slightly annoying, despite being clearly advertised. The free wireless internet was very temperamental and unreliable. Despite these relatively minor issues, would definitely consider staying there again.

Twin room. Cleaned every day. Bathroom a little small - however, would be perfect if they had hooks for the shower head so that it is not hand held. Staff very welcoming at all times.

Only problem was the booking was reserved for my son and partner. On check in I was present and presented credit card and was told i did not have to be there on check out. Wrong! I was quite a distance away when my son went to check out and had to race back to the hotel to confirm payment.Having said that the room was beautiful (No.2) and the touch of choc F1 cars on the bed for the weekend was amazing. Would definitely go back.Breakfast expensive though (15 euros)

In Nice for work I had a small, well appointed, clean and quite room - perfect for me. One road back from the beach and close to the old town, food and shopping. 20 min walk to the central bus station. Staff were excellent (and I speak very little French).

Hotel de la Fontaine was a great hotel to stay in. It was in a great location, one block from the promenade de anglais and 2 from the pedestrian street with lots of shops and restaurants. It was a quick walk to the old part of Nice, and a 5 minute walk from the train station. The room was quiet (request a room on the garden side to avoid street noise) and it was clean. My only complaint is about the size of the room. The queen bed fit in with only about 4 feet on each side, so the suitcases of 2 adults who were traveling for 2 weeks were crammed in there. Not a big deal though, since we didn't spend a lot of time in the room anyway. Overall it was a great stay and I'd stay there again, no question.

Location is great!!! So easy to find. Bus stop of Airoport shuttle (No 98) just in 5 min walk, very convinient. Ticket costs 4 EUR one way.Bus runs every 20 min. Hotel is so clean, has good decor and everyday room service (cleaning) was exelent. Located just in a few steps from the city centre, shopping and eating area, famous Flower Market. Next road leads directly to the Railway station and it's only 10-15 min walk. You can get train to Monaco, Monte-Carlo (return ticket costs about 8EUR and it's 20 min journey), or visit Cannes (40 min ). Trains are very frequent. Good value for money. We'll definitely reccomend the De la Fontaine Hotel Nice to all our friends who is going to visit French Riviera. There is only one comment. In summer season try to book garden side room - it is not so noisy.

Hotel was well placed for our needs and room was adequate, staff very helpful. Tea/coffee making facility in room would have been helpful as we like a cuppa at night before retiring. All in all good value for money and a very good breakfast was provided

My only compliant was the size of the room. For two people it was small which was OK, but the bathroom was so small, I could hardly turn around in it. Otherwise the stay was excellent. The staff was amazing, all spoke English and were avaliable to answer any question. I wish I could them all a reward, that's how impressed I was with them. I have stayed in several hotels around the world and they were the best!

This is avery conveniently situated hotel. But our room was very excentric, beside the patio it had only thin net curtains. The cupboard for clothes was besides this window and was visible from outside. The bathroom door did not fit properly and often had to be kicked open.Bathroom untiled, obviously not finished. Not 3 star standard. But the patio was charming and we had a pleasant stay nontheless but very basic.
