Very good location; shuttle bus from airport (4 euros each) will drop you on the promenade and leave you with only a 5-10 min walk to hotel. Close to beach and old town. Room was basic but clean and served its purpose. Staff very friendly and always pleased to offer assistance/advice. Breakfast was pretty good (9 euros each)- choice of cereal, yoghurt, fruit, bread, cheese and coffee/tea/fruit juice. Breakfast seemed pretty reasonable value compared to what you could pick up outside (set in a small courtyard surrounded by a variety of attractive plants/flowers). Recommended.

Good valueIt is a very clean and functional hotel. Definately worth the money. Location was good although I would stay nearer to the old town if I went again. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment on that but generally a good experience. Comfortable room, fairly quiet location.

Hotel De La FontaineThe Hotel De La Fontaine is in an excellent location, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are good value for money, but I suggest asking for a room away from the road as despite wooden shutters it was very noisy with people shouting outside on the Saturday night.

Hotel de la Fontaine was in a great location. We walked everywhere during our 3-night stay in Nice. The staff were extremely friendly, spoke English (which is great since we speak very little French). At the recommendation by others online, we did not have breakfast at the hotel. There are plenty of other places nearby to get coffee and a croissant or baguette for breakfast. Definitely venture further into the Old Town for some fantastic restaurants. La Petite Mason was fantastic!

Positives: Good value for money. Very central location, only 5 minutes from beach. Extremely clean. Friendly, helpful staff.Negatives: Small room. Lots of noise from street below (should have got rear room overlooking courtyard). Air conditioning ineffective. Flat screen TV almost unwatchable because of viewing angle.Overall: Despite the problems, we enjoyed our stay and would go back to this hotel - perhaps getting a courtyard room instead.
