Our room was remodeled, comfortable and very clean with wood floors. The bathroom set-up was excellent and we spent some time on the balcony overlooking the street scene. The hotel has both free internet access and wi-fi access. This was important because we were booking hotels as our trip progressed. Normally, I don't pine for Starbucks, but after several weeks in Europe, a large, American-style coffee hit the spot. Starbucks is located next to the hotel and they have 30 minutes of free internet access with a purchase. The only negative was the tiny TV mounted at the far end of the room. We tried to watch soccer/football on it, but couldn't see the game from the bed.

The location was very good. Austere room, indifferent help. Not a comfortable hotel, usual Swiss hotels include breakfast but this one didn't. It gives Lucerne a bad feeling.

The Hotel De La Paix was clean, comfortable, and very conveniently located. The staff was friendly, helpful, and caring. The fact that this hotel is virtually minutes from the sightseeing section of Lucerne was fantastic. Parking is available next door, but is not included in the room rate. We were offered a discounted parking rate since we were at this hotel. The room, though somewhat small based on American standards, was typical for a room in a major European city. We had a very pleasant stay here, & would recommend it to others.

Nothing. Hot, bugs, incorrect info from staff. We had a terrible experience. When we went to check in, we were moved to the neighboring Ambassador Hotel. There was no air conditioning in 90+ degree weather and we were put on the top floor on the sunny side. We were in a sweat the second we walked in the room. They would not move us. We did not sleep for the 2 nights we were there and were bitten by bugs all night--in the mornings we had little bumps/bites all over us. We found big bugs in our towels in the bathrooms. The worst stay I have ever had in a hotel. It was holiday while we were there and were told by the front desk receptionist all stores closed. When I asked if that was the case in Zurich too (so we could plan our day) we were told yes. But that night we went to Zurich and most stores were open so we wasted one of our only Switzerland days in a Luzerne with everything closed when we could have enjoyed the day in Zurich shopping.

Good location, nice view. Very small TV, balcony was dirty, desk chair and desk was too basic. good hotel, nice location, great view, friendly staff, good breakfast, also next to star bucks. TV was very small, desk and chair was very basic.
