Barbed wire on the gates was an onymous signThey've spent more money on the security that they have on the hotel. Not a great stay.

The proprietor was very friendly. Breakfast was ample. Although there was no bar, apart from an honesty fridge in the reception area, the proprietor was willing to sell me a bottle of wine to drink in my room and provided a glass. Also provided an early morning wake up service.

Surprisingly peacefulWhilst the fronm of the hotel is on the main road, tha back is very pleasant and quiet. I enjoyed to calm no hassle atmosphere

An experience!Layout of room strange to say least! Television was on same side as bed so couldn't see it unless facing wrong way in bed. Kettle stayed on only if I kept my foot on the switch. Breakfast was do it yourself toast and a yoghurt or cereal. To get a cooked breakfast it was extra £5 and had to be booked night before. Didn’t know that! On asking for extra pillows we did get pillow but no pillowcases. Pillows are about 3 inches thick and solid, hotelier was friendly. Location not good. Barbed wire around gate on arrival quite off putting.

Friendly and comfortableNice atmosphere.No frills in the room department, but free wi-fi and digital free to air TV is provided.If you are driving to the hotel, make sure you get a map of how to get to the car park - access is from a laneway that runs off a backstreet that is several turnings from the main road.

Hotel is reasonable value for money, clean and located well for the Fort Dunlop and Star City areas. Parking is secure at the rear but difficult to access. The problem we had was trying to get in to the hotel! After 30 minutes of knocking, car horn pressing buzzers, trying the phone etc the "owner"came to the door. It turns out she had fallen asleep, and as her room was on the top floor she did not hear us.

Missing printI have no problem with the hotel...the manager was pleasant and his members of staff were also very nice. However, on the late rooms site there is ZERO mention of having to pay extra for hot breakfast, or the fact that you have to book a hot breakfast the night before - this was disappointing.

I found the hotel very good value for money - great secure hotel car parking , a note about access to the car park would help.
