Enjoyable, the room smelled stale when I first got there. Good room for the price.

The staff was helpful. The room smelled strongly of cigarettes and it was in a noisy corner.
Date of Stay:
March, 2008
This was the dirtiest room I have every stayed in. I would never stay here again. I can't describe how unhappy we were with the conditions of the room. If I would have had small children with me I would not have let me on the floor or in the bathroom.
Date of Stay:
May, 2009
The first room was extremely dirty. The phone was sticky, dust on the headboards, sticky bathroom walls, dirty handprints on the bathroom door, a/c didn't do anything. I seemed like it was used for hourly use. We were able to change rooms, and that room was adequate.

We were put into a smoking room. Due to allergies to smoke, the guest service manager, she was able to get us into a non-smoking room. The staff did not keep the breakfast stocked and cleaned. This was a very busy weekend. This hotel is an older Days Inn. It was clean and comfortable for what we needed. It was a busy weekend and the hotel staff didn't keep the breakfast replenished or cleaned.

Very nice accommodations at the hotel and location was very close to UNI, shopping, dining, coffee shops, etc.

Stuck with smoking room. Moldy tub wall. OK if you want what it is, but I would not stay there again..

The best part of this hotel was location. It is close to everything. The rooms are small and not in the best condition, but if you are going to be out and about, it is fine to sleep in.
Date of Stay:
April, 2009
Price was good and room was good. Dirty sink. Things were clean except sink and there was quite of bit of dust. People were friendly and I would stay here again.

The location was good. It was disgusting, dirty and smelly. This hotel was absolutely disgusting. It smelled horrible, the bedding was dirty, and most of the lights/electrical outlets in my room did not work.
Date of Stay:
March, 2009
Location. Noise, limited internet connectivity, cramped and poor continental breakfast. The lobby computers were down - no internet access. There was no pool or fitness room but you could go to the Holiday Inn nearby to use. There was a lot of noise from other guests that continued until midnight. Bathroom ductwork/ventilation was connected so every time someone went to the bathroom or talked you could hear it in your room. Inadequate room for more than 8 guests to eat breakfast. Simply had bagels, cereal, milk, juice and a basket of apples.
Date of Stay:
February, 2009
Free breakfast. No windows. Clean with a friendly staff. Great place for people on a budget.
Date of Stay:
August, 2008
It was in a convenient location. Smelled of smoke, noise from next room, 2 doors down had smokers with door open and dogs, carpet was dirty, room upstairs. Days Inn is not at all up to the standards of the others that I have stayed at. The room smelled of smoke and the carpet was dirty. The carpet throughout the whole place had stains. The bed squeaked. The room 2 doors down kept their door open and the people had 2 huge dogs and sat and smoked. Their smoke came out into the hallway. The rooms are not sound proof as I could hear the people next door.

I didn't like it at all. It was noisy and I didn't get much sleep the first night of my stay. Substandard - hotel needs renovation. Staff was friendly, but sometimes noisy. This was a problem because they put me into a room just two door down from the lobby. Hotel staff and guests were noisy the first night. The staff tried to move me the second night. In addition, the cracked paint on the ceiling and walls, mould near the heating/cooling unit and some lack of cleanliness did not please me. On the other, the staff tried its best to make me feel at home. On the second night, they were much quieter, so I could sleep. The staff was very concerned also about me and about the condition of the rooms, which they admitted needed renovation.

Water stains on ceiling, carpet wasvery dirty looking, paint peeling, had to go to a hotel next door to use swimming pool and computer. Front desk employees very unfriendly, room was clean but overall upkeep of the hotel was poor. Seems like Days Inn takes no pride in how the hotel appears. Definitely needs a makeover!
Date of Stay:

Nothing. No pool and nowhere to sit too eat breakfast. Older. No pool and no chairs too sit in for breakfast. Should of stayed in a lot cheaper hotel for price.
Date of Stay:
June, 2008
Location. Couldn't get non-smoking room; breakfast bagel moldy. It's old - some lights didn't work, bad smoking odor in room - had to wash all clothes taken into the room. We were staying there to go to our grandchild's H.S. graduation. Will not go there again!
Date of Stay:
August, 2007
Location. Fire Alarm went off 3x's in night. Fire alarm went off three times in the night. Was told my front desk that it just happens sometimes. Wireless internet very, very poor. Would not stay connected. Ice machine did not work, was told it has a mind of its own. Told if I wanted ice I could cross the parking lot and go to the Holiday Inn and get some. I have stayed there this summer already and it had its problems also. Not going to stay at either one of these again.
Date of Stay:
June, 2006
Convenient location to University of Northern Iowa. The dirty, sticky phone and TV control. Poor security. Out dated. It felt dark and oppressive. No security locks on outer side doors. Front desk looked like a kids lemonade stand. The ONLY thing this hotel has going for it, is the friendly staff!
