The worst hotel ever.I did not get the hotel ambiance worth of what I've paid for.The linens are wrinkled. They looked like they were not change from the previous room stay. The bed setup is terrible. While I was waiting for the very slow elevator on the third floor I saw this one Asian looking housekeeper who was so busy taking out garbage bags full of I guess bottles or recycables from rooms. I noticed that the housekeeper is more interested with bottles or even tips than cleaning first because when I came back to my room it is still not cleaned at past 1 PM.

The staff are friendly-from front desk to housekeeping staff. The room is not so clean and clean smelling. The bedsheets and towels are not so white and have tear, stains and some holes and cracked edges. The bed sheets and pillowcases are not pressed.

The worst hotel ever. The staff were pleasant at the front desk. The rooms were very dirty, Hair in the bathrooms in the sink and on the toilet bowl. When asked the Housekeeping staff they just shrugged their shoulders. The bed sheets looked like they had not been changed from the previous guest nso i slept on top. Worst ever night, NEVER AGAIN, a dirty smoke smelling room NO WAY

It's hard to take time and enjoy a business trip.

The breakfast was good and the staff seemed friendly enough. It advertises itself as something more than it is. There is very little to recommend the location and some of it is in poor repair. This hotel is adequate, but nothing special.

Days Inn Calgary South is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Despite my reservation (and what I payed for) they first tried to put me into smoking room, after my complaint and their comments on having all the rooms sold (big drama) they found me nonsmoking room, but standard (I payed for upgraded). There was no use to argue since they behave as if they didn't understand english. Moreover - my room was lacking remote control and garbage can (!!!); bed frame got broken during attempt of moving it away from air conditioner, shower curtain stunk, coffee-maker was broken and the swimming pool was out of order during my entire stay (one week). Sounds like a bad dream, doesn't it? But it was Days Inn Calgary South reality.

Staff was friendly, but place was a little run down although room was clean. I had trouble getting hot water one evening and was asked to "let it run about 15 minutes" to get some. It only took about 5-7 minutes and then there was plenty.

Close to my course. Room was in disrepair and not very clean.

Room was clean and ready for check in. Breakfast was great. Everything was great except for the pool. The pool was too cold to swim in. Would stay again but would also call to make sure pool heater was working before making and reservations

Promissed room was not available, Found it not clean from previous occupants. has to settle for smaller room. Room keyes had to be renewed every day. Access from parking lot was broken and did not inform guest of said problem. This door was also jammed open, leaving a security risk. Day Inn was contacted and since this is a Franchise they had little control. They informed us that the local owner would contact us by letter and address the situation, but we have not hear a word. Management has a lot to be desired

Most things were pretty good, except the bathroom shower which was dripping water and took a long time time before getting hot water. Air conditioning too felt like it was blowing air at the same temp of around 65 no matter what you set the temp to. Otherwise the hotel was decent.

Not a bad hotel. It was old, the wallpaper was peeling and there were dings in the baseboards. The room was decent, it was clean, the bed was good. The continental breakfast was one of the best I've had, so it was worth it for that. I did not like the front desk personnel, they did not seem knowledgable about it, and I had some issues with my payment (they billed me twice). Other than that, not bad, good for a quick in and out of the city.

i loved this hotel we had to travel all the way to calgary for some medical appointments and they had a discount and they provided us with everything we needed!

Days Inn South Calgary, reception is very good, but after that very littlw pleases the eye. Hallway carpets are in serious need of professional cleaning services, and while the beds are comfortable it is a poor option to use 2 white flat sheets instead of a cover for the duvet. I was very frustrated to have to stand waiting for the water in the shower to get warm enough for me to even think about stepping in. Location while convenient for downtown, is right by the C train tracks and on a divided section of road making access somewhat inconvenient.

Dirty and run down. Good location but very old poorly maintained hotel.

I don't normally post reviews, but in this case, I thought it was only fair to warn other travellers to think twice before staying at the Calgary South Days Inn. Where do I start? The elevator was a mess -- Cheerios on the floor that they didn't clean for more than 24 hours. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls on the second floor, the paint was flaking off the ceiling in the bathroom, and our non-smoking room smelled of cigarette smoke. The second-floor carpet has stains all over it. When we wanted to have showers, we'd have to wait ten minutes (literally) for the water to heat up. The elevators were slow -- partly because cleaning staff were using it and not letting people on, even if they were going in the same direction, so we usually took the stairs. The stairways were unswept, the knob was missing from the door. The fitness room had no water -- just an empty watercooler. Internet service was not working while we were there. The staff were not friendly at all -- I didn't see them crack a smile once. The only good thing about the stay were the waffles in the morning. Other than that, this booking was a mistake. It was so bad that I question Days Inn's standards, not just this particular Days Inn. It's not a high-end hotel, but travellers should get better accommodations than this, even at this rate.

Liked fridge (though may not be standard for all rooms) and saltwater pool. Disliked noise from people in halls and C-Train only two blocks away. Breakfast buffet did not have any substantial protein items like boiled eggs except for peanut butter (but I'm allergic), but good value as included with room."

For a place to stay, this hotel provided the basic needs. Its an aging property, however the room itself was clean. The hallways left alot to be desired, but we don't sleep in the hallways, do we? There is a Tim Hortons and MacDonald's next door which proved to be invaluable, since the hotel had no restaurant available. The wireless internet wasn't working during my stay and the front deskperson gave me the impression that it rarely works. The breakfast was basically toast and cereal. Only other issue was that this hotel doesn't take any Mastercard/Visa cards that are issued as cheque cards. In the end, for a place to sleep and use as a 'home base', the property did serve its purpose, without any frills. I had a room on the rear side of the hotel and while the view is of 'nothing', I'd recommend it. The front of the hotel overlooks a busy street, and I found my room was extremely quiet throughout the nite.
