My sister hosted my bridal shower here in the banquet center. It was very nice. Everything was very clean. I had reserved a room for the night. We had my bachelorette party that night also. All of the girls and me were in my room getting ready for the evening. While we were getting ready, some of the girls wanted some of the food that was leftover from the shower earlier. The staff said it was okay to bring it into our room. Like 10 minutes later, the manager, Don Skopec, called the room and told one of the girls that we could not have the food in the room for some reason. It technically was our food. It was bought and paid for. He was saying inappropriate things on the phone to the girl. So, she told him to quit calling her little pet names. She was very violated by him. Instantly, he comes barging into our room, without knocking! Tells all of us to get out and that he called the cops!! He was very unprofessional and very rude to all of us!! Very tacky and I will never stay at this hotel again!!

When I first went to check in the girl at the counter was very rude, told me to go to the back door to get to my room - so I drove to the back, there are no back doors. So I went back in and told her and she pointed to the side door. All the other people were very pleasant and made my stay very nice.

Cleanliness. Staff was not very friendly, sink was in room, so if you want to use a hair dryer it wakes others. Hotel was clean and comfortable, price could have been better. I can get a better deal on a 3 or 4 star in a big city. The pool area was very nice with good hours.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights in mid Nov. 08 and thought the remoldeling was fantastic. Inside and out is knotty pine. Beautiful fireplace, loft and great lounge areas. Great service and clean inside. I would highly reccomend.

We were told when making our reservation this was a brand new hotel. Instead we were put in an old motel section that had new exterior siding -- and they tried to chrage us the same as the people in the brand new part! The rooms were stale, smelly, loud, bug-infested and the power went out when we plugged in the coffeepot. We had to walk outside, across the parking lot for the complimentary breakfast or the pool. Ok in the summer, but this is WI. Good luck with that! When we approached the manager about our concerns, he was rude and tacky. This stay was a series of disappoinments. Beware! We had other relatives in the same town who stayed at other hotels, and they had great experiences.

We reserved a room at a brand new hotel-so we were told. We called and were told it was a brand new hotel. On every website we looked on, it was a brand new hotel. Yet, we checked in and went to our rooms, we found out we were actually in a "renovated" section of the hotel. Renovated means new t.v. It was old and very dirty. When we complained to the owner, he just kept making excuses and said it was our fault and his only response was "so, what do you want me to do about it"? We were finally given a 20% credit, but only after many conversations and rude comments made by the owner. We really had no other options, except to stay. There were no other rooms available in the town and we were told by the owner that we would be charged whether we stayed or not. The new part of the hotel was actually very nice. All other employees were very helpful.

Helpful staff and clean. There was no ice machine on the second floor. I thought it was a great value and very nice place. I had read a review that said the staff was not friendly but I found them to be helpful and friendly. Just what I was looking for in a short weekend get-a-way.

The staff was wonderful and hotel was spot less, we stayed in the building right next to the band new section. Who ever had the presences of mind to keep the older ground level section and spruce it up to have such a nice addion to the new building was awesome. Boaters and others that like to keep an eye on there things will like this option to park right in front of there room!

We reserved a room for a family wedding. The room we were given was not in the new section of the hotel, but in a old (1972) annex in the parking lot. We were told that there were no other rooms available in the new section even though we had made reservations months ago. We were never told that there even was an old section until after we checked in. We were given a 20% credit only after we complained to the owner and even then his repsonse several times was "so what do you want me to do about it"? The rooms were dirty. The electricity went out twice when we were trying to get ready for the wedding. There were bugs in the bathroom. I would never stay at this hotel again.

Beware of complaints made by other guests. I stayed at the hotel during the same period the other guests did. Staff made every attempt to please the other guests while I was there, however they chose to be difficult, not understanding. I live in Rice Lake, and was staying at the hotel because of a family event. Not only did I find the hotel to be wonderful and clean, so did my family. I have only heard good comments regarding this hotel and how pleased everyone in the community are to have this new hotel.
