This room was dirty and very run down. There was mildew all over the bathroom. I would not stay at this motel again.

The free continental breakfast was good. They did try and accommodate us to a room close to the pool because of the kids.

I reserved a non-smoking room and they sent us to a very smelly smoking room and then they tried to get me to keep after I called. They finally switched us after I refused the room. The property is very run down.

Had to travel north to pick up a part and wanted to be there when the parts store opened so I choose to get a room. Place was Okay. They were fixing up the place so construction was going on. Bathroom was clean and water was hot. Wouldn't stay again.

The Days Inn at Portage was a good place to stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The one thing I would have changed would have been my bed. It has a mattress that needs replacing due to broken springs. We were given a room that was very accessible which was much appreciated since my Handicapped mother was with us.

Nothing. The hot tub did not work. I would never recommend staying in another Comfort Inn again.

I searched by price for a place to stay near the Indiana Dunes. This is what I got: an older motel that could use more maintenance. The covers were pretty worn. There were dirt marks or grease spots along with holes in the bathroom door. The caulking around the tub and shower were dirty and in some places moldy. It didn't seem clean in the bathroom, if I wanted to go to a state park to camp I could have. I had a non-smoking room with no cigarette smell but there were smoking allowed rooms on the same hallway, so I had to "walk the gauntlet" to get to my room. The highway side of the hotel I was on seemed noisy considering the distance to the road. There is a wing behind the one I was in that could have given noise relief. To be fair, I was tired, the TV worked, the wifi worked, the room was big enough, I didn't inspect the room before accepting it (which is always an option) and I didn't ask the proprietor for a different room. It was a roof over my head, but if had to go there again I would spend an extra 5 and go shopping for a slightly better establishment.

Close to freeway. Rude management, dirty pool. Not a good choice! Dirty socks found under the bed, broken tiles in the pool area, manager very rude and did not care about our complaints.

We did not stay the second night - it was so bad!!! Very dirty carpet, mold and mildew in the bathroom, dirty floor in the bathroom. If we hadn't gotten there so late we would not have stayed the first night either.

The location was great. We were there to go to Lake Michigan. It is just a short drive away. It wasn't new enough for meI guess. It seemed old and a little dirty.

A 60's era motel. Clean rooms and interior hallways. Safes, Irons, hairdryers in every room. Bathtub could have used regrouting, but it was clean. A basic motel for budget-minded people.

Location. Poor condition. When we arrived, the 2 clerks were arguing with one another. The covering on the bathroom walls were peeling up from the bottom. Three light bulbs were burned out, one by the door, two over the bed. I would not stay there again, nor recommend it anyone. I was very dissatisfied, wished we were staying somewhere other than "Days Inn" in Portage Inn. We were in Inn for a funeral, traveling from MI.

Location. General condition and things not working as they should. The front desk help was not friendly. The room keys of several people did not work. The key access to the door closest to my room was broken and I had to park and walk a long way to get to my room. The other door key access did not work the first night.
Date of Stay:
December, 2006
Location was very easy access to interstate. Signage was excellent after dark. The location of the room was confusing to get too, but that may have been due to the renovation. This hotel is undergoing renovation which currently impacted the public areas of the continental breakfast area and hotel lobby, making the above questions related to these areas inapplicable. When the renovation is completed I am certain that these areas will be fine.
Date of Stay:

Location was convenient to express way. Could use a dab of glue on wallpaper. Overall, we were very satisfied with our room. The bed and pillows were comfortable. I know when the renovations are complete, this will be a very good looking hotel.
