The Good: Staff was friendly but had no knowledge of town as to where to eat besides the IHOP next door. Suggested McDonald's---ok...no. We were concerned about the location as the address is a FWY address. This is true, but it is situated off the main highway and you hear no traffic noise at all. The hotel seemed well occupied but was very quiet. Had no issues with noisy neighbors, no door slamming, etc. It was in fact, the quietest stay at a hotel/motel we'd ever experienced. Air conditioner worked great and was not noisy at all. The Bad: Seems to be in a poorer part of town. It is obvious once you step inside (and then outside) of the one functioning elevator, that this property has been severely neglected. It is very run down and in need of lots of repair. The carpet was terribly worn and, even worse, it appeared to not have been vacuumed in many months. It was grossly filthy. I did not want to touch it with my bare feet. Oddly enough the rest of the room looked very clean. (I rated the room cleanliness based on the disgusting carpet.) The bathroom had been updated but needed small repairs. If you want an iron you will have to get it from the front desk but, user beware, if not careful it could do damage. I would only stay here as a last resort. That is, if you're not going to spend any time in the room except to shower, sleep, and go.

Roaches; no breakfast left at 9:15 am. Never expected roaches, only 1 elevator worked and found out that the other one had been out for weeks! convenient location to I-35 but not recommended.

Tried to make reservations for the Handicap Room back in July and was told that "their family" was living in it and it was unavailable so we agreed to stay in a regular double room. We have been staying at this hotel for a very long time and it has gone through many names. We keep going back because of convenient location to our family that lives in the adjoining neighborhood...it was walking distance. The Hotel Clerk knows who we are when we show up, and is very friendly. The current owners have said they plan on updating and making improvements. We have seen the condition of this hotel decline substantially through the years......Spring 2008 will be our last stay there. My father, who is handicap, fell in the bathroom and when we informed the clerk downstairs they basically said, " oh ok....sorry"....and that was it. It had gotten to where we specifically reserved a room only on the first floor since the two elevator kept breaking, once I waited for the clerk to run the key up to the second floor to unlock the elevator so it could go down to the first floor. Our tradition of always staying at the hotel is now over. Sorry, but no thanks.....

Room was filthy, changed to cleaner one, but had to use clorox wipes, chair had huge stains. Manger called me today to yell at me & called me a sneak, I reported all to HQ's. Rate was higher than what reciept was.

The best thing about this place was the location. Beyond that I would not recommend staying at this place because it was not particularly clean and there were ants everywhere including in the bed. When I called the front desk they came immediately with bug spray and questioned me about whether I had food in my room as if it were my fault they had an ant problem. Then they left the can of bug spray with me so I could take care of the problem myself. Had it not been a holiday weekend and I had somewhere else to stay I would have definitely moved somewhere else.

Convenient location to where we was going, easy access to highway. Dirty wash cloth in bathroom and knob on air vent did not work (hot in room).

Do not stay here. Hide-a-bed in suite was broke, did not come with sheets. room was not made up one day. very dirty and others in group had issues with everything in hotel.

Air conditioner could not be set for a lower temp it was a constant 30 below we had to buy sweat pants to sit in the room comfortably.

Nothing. Unclean and rude. They are rude; they did not clean my room and said I had a do not disturb sign on my door when I didn't. First night told me that only I could stay in the room. When the room was booked for me and my daughter. I will never stay there again or recommend it to anyone.

The room was not very clean, the bathtub did not drain very well, the deadbolt was tricky, there was no ice machine on the second floor.

Room deadbolt did not work. Pool was not open. It was advertised as open. Reserved a non-smoking room and was given a smoking room which I did not find out until the next morning.

Do not stay here, it is disgusting and gross! There were roaches everywhere and hair on the doorknobs and in the bed. The sink was stopped up and the phones did not work nor did the air conditioner......HORRIBLE! "
