We just needed a clean, safe room to sleep enroute to time with family in Michigan. The room was surface clean, but needed some deep cleaning. The breakfast was a disappointment as food and milk ran out before breakfast hour was over.

Courteous staff, WIFI in room. The hotel pool had issues and not open. I specifically chose this hotel because it was the most inexpensive room having both Internet and a pool closest to our destination. When we checked in, we were told that the pool was out of commission. I had been anxiously anticipating a swim in the pool all day, was extremely disappointed by the fact we paid for this and did not get it. The bath had a very nice rounded shower curtain bar which was awesome, however there was some mildew on the tiling. The flooring was not flat. They were going to be modernizing the hotel to bring it into the modern times, but it was built in 1974.

Although the Days Inn was definitely in need of some maintenance ,it was an economical stay for our N.D.weekend.The staff was friendly and courteous and allowed us to check in early. The continental breakfast they provided was sufficient and ready by early morning. The proximity to N.D. was just a short 15 minute ride up Int. 80 and convenient for trip. I would stay at the Days Inn again provided they had some maintenance done to upgrade their premises.

My two children, my sister with her 3 kids and our mother had to stop for the night as we drove home from WI. It was 1am and after stoping a few hotels to gauge prices we choose Days Inn. We paid in cash for two rooms and after unloading all the sleeping children we found both bathrooms were dirty the floors needed vacumed and the beds didn't even have a fitted sheet. You would think that they could afford a fitted sheet for a bed, but they just layed a flat sheet over the mattres. The ladie at the desk said that since we had been there and Hour (only 35 min) the only thing she could do is give us a different room. I let her know that it took us 35 min to unload and reload our children in the car. I had to tell her 3 TIMES to call her manager. Once she did we got our money and left. I will never stop there again and you shouldn't either. Pay the 15 more and stay somewhere else!!!!!

We were traveling to the Pa. so this was just a stop over. It was inexpensive so it was a good value for the price. Still smells of smoke though non-smoking, but they were remodeling.

Location. Poorly furnished and not clean. Would not stay there again.

The motel is near the highway on a busy street. There are some good restaurants a short drive. Elkhart has several areas of interest including their train museum with a friendly staff, a wonderful art museum and river park. The motel needs a complete renovation. The ice machine was broken so I had to walk to a convenience store to get a bag of ice. The breakfast bar closed early on a Sunday morning. Even juice or coffee was not available. The hotel staff was not at all helpful.

Not one thing. Dirty and nasty. I wouldn't stay again if it were free. The room was nasty and dirty. The floors looked as if they hadn't been vacuumed, the tub was filthy, there were 3 spiders under the sheets of one bed and that was all I could take. I ended up leaving and staying elsewhere. I tried to surprise my husband with a relaxing evening but it turned into a disaster.

This place was not that bad at all. Especially for * a night. The room smelled like babypowder? Not bad. It was clean. Everything worked except for one outlet. I have no complaints. It was a hotel, not home. The only scary thing about my stay was that when I fist arrived at 3:30pm (that is right, pm) I saw a hooker and some "John" exchange money then go into a room down at the end of the building for 20min. This is not Days Inn's fault though. I'm sure the other hotels in the area, under * a night have the same thing going on.

Nice, clean room--all we were looking for during a weekend baseball tournament. Donuts may be gone if you sleep in.

Nothing. keys didn't work. Keys repeatedly didn't work in the door, and finally after a waste of my time, they finally changed the battery in the door. Manager assured me my account would not be charged but they charged me anyway. Unorganized and not very clean.

Great weekend stay to attend any ND's football games. I asked for a vending machine but the frontdesk told me that I could get a drink/snacks from the gas station around the corner/next door which it doesn't really bother me because I really do need to take a walk.

The Days Inn at Elkhart was a big disappointment for my husband and me. We have stayed at the Days Inn chains before and I don't think I have ever encountered one that was as dirty as this one. The room had not been vacuumed, the bathroom hadn't been cleaned, and the beds were not at all as comfortable as ones we have stayed in previously. The curtains on the window had the hook missing and wouldn't close all the way. Sorry to be so blunt about this but I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Bed, lack of pillows, bad attitude of desk.

When walking into the room my senses were assaulted with the odors of smoke, vomit, etc. I found the wobbly toilet to be unsafe. The mold in the shower inflamed my asthma and was felt to be a health hazard. Management was unwilling to offer satisfactory accomodations.

The Days Inn was a very friendly place to stay. The people were very welcoming when you checked in.The rooms were in very good condition and were also clean. It was nice how the sink was outside the bathroom. It made it easier with three people trying to get ready in the morning. The location was great! It was less than twenty minutes away from Notre Dame and there were many good restaurants in walking distance of the hotel. It was a nice place to stay and I would stay there again.

NOTHING! Everything! It was oh so dirty and unsafe! I felt so dirty, there were holes in the walls, hair on the carpet, the maid lied and told the front desk that we did not want service. Therefore, I had to go to the front office and get towels and shampoo, etc. The police came early in the morning to get someone out of their room. I could not get out of there fast enough and stayed out shopping or whatever just so I did not have to take my daughter and myself back there. Do not stay there!

The location of the motel was very good. The room was not very clean. This is an older motel that has been renovated. The rooms are adequate, but not very clean. This is probably due to their age. The non smoking rooms still have traces of cigarette smoke from long ago.
Date of Stay:
February, 2007
It had a good location. We went to breakfast an hour before it closed and they were already out of food. The staff was not very friendly and the hotel seemed run down.
