Booked this hotel for it's close distance to Salem, MA. Was a great location just outside of Salem, (only 3.5 miles down the road). Easy to find, right off of the highway, but a little hard to get into to. Have to make a U turn and come at it from only one direction. Staff was friendly and tried to be accomodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable. TV remote did not work nor did the second one that we received after making a complaint about the first one. Neighbors were noisy and when we tried to call the front desk about it our phone did not work either. Overall, if you're looking for a clean place to stay with a good location and not much else this was a good buy for the price.

Economical and clean. The hotel is old and although freshly painted it could use more updates and better decorating.

When I booked my stay at the Days Inn Danvers Salem, the pictures that were posted looked great. When we were almost at the Day Inn to check in, my husband who knows the area said this is not a good hotel. It houses permanent families and their children. The place looked run down, the paint was chipping, and truthfully, We did not feel safe there. My mother and 12 year old daughter stayed in a room with two beds and about 7 doors away my husband and I stayed in room with one bed. The rooms were fairly clean, although there was mold in the bathroom. I would never stay here again, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone I care about at least. The pictures on the website must have been when this place was new and the pictures were very deceiving.

The hotel was in a great spot, half way between Boston & Salem/Glouster, lots to see & do. The rooms were clean, beds comfy. We had 2 rooms, one for non & one for the smokers (yes, even smokers are entitled to a carefree vacation, & thank you for that!) The in-room coffee maker was wonderful. Only criticism is that the 2nd room, although it had an added bonus of an in-room fridge & microwave, which we weren't expecting, was just kind of dumped in the back of the room, limiting walking space & access to the closet. We managed to cope. The free breakfast buffet wasn't bad, had the basics, we were able to eat & run off to do fun stuff, saving us time & money. I'd recommend it & go there again. Rates were great. A good value, comfy room, & convenient location. Who could ask for anything more?

Very happy with the motel. Location was great. Breakfast was great. Great having mall so close.

Close to location. Like a strip mall. It was taken over by days inn, therefore it lacked the usual quality of a real built days inn. It was more like a motel, a line of rooms stacked upon one another.

Reception area was nice. Non smoking rooms smelled like smoke with flys in them in the end of October. Common areas could use the clean up. Oh, check in is at 3 pm not 2 pm as the sign says. Over all-- I will stay somewhere else next time.

Went with visitors, hoped for a clean but unfancy motel. The room smelled slightly, exterior doors, the hotel itself felt like Army surplus, the walls are thin (could hear the neighbors TV all night), and the pile of old furniture was heaped behind the second building. The staff was pleasant, the breakfast adequate. Would not take visitors again. Apparently, this was what 60 gets you in outer Boston.

Good location in the suburbs of Boston, MA...close to Salem. Good, clean hotel room, though the bathroom's drain was a bit clogged and the toilet didn't flush well.

It was the closest we could get to our final destination. Ease of locating hotel was difficult and housekeeping was awful.

This hotel's clientele seemed to consist mostly of low income permanent residents. The hotel was noisy and there were unsupervised children everywhere. Food in the breakfast room was below par.

After reading the other reviews, I was leary to keep my reservation but, once we arrived, the room was small but clean, the staff was very helpful and friendly. They have recently painted the exterior and believe me, you can't miss the place. The map was helpful because it is located behind Dennys' and you would miss the driveway if you were unfamiliar with the area. Overall, if you are just looking for an affordable place to lay your head down for the night, I would stay here again. Remember, you get what you pay for.

This hotel is in close proximity to the popular tourist stop, Salem MA. The room was clean, easy check-in and on a road with many shopping and dining choices. The one thing I did not like was the constant humm from a ventilation system? It was quite loud.

The room was nothing more than a shield against the elements. Maid service was terrible. Beds werenot made daily, towels werenot replenished, black hair all over the room, coffee pot wasdirty, curtain wasbroken.

It's an awkward turn around to get into the parking lot behind Dennys. Which was nice because the continental breakfast was kind of barren and lots of flies were in the breakfast area every morning we were there.Though the outside looks dumpy, the room itself was nice and clean enough (though I would have been happier if the curtains fully closed). We generally straighten up our stuff before we head out for the day, but apparently the cleaning staff will not give you any towels or soap, more coffee and cups, or give you a new plastic liner for your ice bucket if they feel you didn't tip them enough. (Which personally, lack of service means i'm not going to tip them as much the next day--so its a vicious cycle--but the front desk has all that stuff so you can get it no problem and THEY were friendly.)It's a straight run right down the road to Salem, which was very nice. It was convenient for our purposes and its across the street from a mall, so there were plenty of places to grab late night grub or stuff you forgot at home. Not the classiest place we've stayed, but not the shadiest. It's a cheap place to sleep, right?

The place gave me the creeps. When I first used the toilet I saw pubic hair in the corner along with other miscellaneous debris. This negative first impression soured me on the place. For its proximity to Salem and the Wenham museum it was cheap. You get what you pay for. Next time I'll opt for a better hotel.

it had a smell of old mildew smell, for somebody with allergies it isn't good!!

The hotel is stuck in behind Denny's so we missed it at first when trying to find the entrance. The hotel itself needs a refurbishment -- there was a broken window frame in the stairwell leading up to the second floor, the parking lot had trash/broken glass, etc. all over the place. To be fair, the room itself, while very small, was also clean, but again, just shabby. The location is close to Salem, and is in the middle of a ton of shopping centers.I certainly would NOT stay there again unless it undergoes a major restoration.

Location. To many childern running up and down the halls late at night. The room was nice more than expected .There was an element of the kind of people living their. Not sure of the clientel many many children running around at night knocking on doors ,told front desk. I will stay at Marriot Courtyard in Danvers on my next trip.not at Days Inn.
