The staff was nice, but the place looks like it was built in the '50's or 60's and just isn't really posh. What does one expect for the price, though?

Located close to the campus.

We reserved two rooms, both were clean and updated. There were three fluffy pillows on each bed. The front desk attendant was polite and helpful with directions. My only complaint would be the thin walls. We would definitely stay here again.

When we booked we requested a room on top floor at end of hallway. We were given a room on bottom floor, center. We received our room keys and no directions to our room were given. The room was in the back. Our parking space was not available due to the fact it was not plowed out due snow. Here's some comments on the room: food crumbs around base of bed, paint on blanket on bed, towelrack in bathroom coming loose from wall, bathroom faucet leaks, base under sink, tiles loose. Fire alarm laying in bottom of closet, not too safety oriented for guest. I thought it was a safety regulation that a workable fire alarm be in each room to be working. Bathroom door would not shut and latch. We have stayed at other Days Inn and this is not the service we are used to from this chain .

My husband and I were visiting the University of Iowa and just needed a place to stay over night. The Hotel was close to the campus. That is about the only nice thing. The room smelled musky, the faucet in the tub leaked, the toilet was not flushed when we arrived, the comforter smelled like it needed to be washed. I would not recommend this hotel. Yes it was cheaper than others, but I would have spent the extra money for a cleaner and more maintaned room somewhere else.

Everything wasnew! Noisy - running up and down stairs. This is a new hotel and therefore was clean and in good shape. We were on lower level and the upstairs rooms were noisy.

This motel was on the Coralville strip so is very close to restaurants and shopping. My room was very clean, just tired.

Our room and everything in it was new. It had just reopened after a flood had occurred in June. Everything was good!

Iwas not impressed with the rooms/cleanliness at all. I was not impressed with my time here at the hotel. We had to switch rooms at 11pm at night because of the air conditioner. I was there with my 19month old son who had to have surgery at 6:30am the next morning at the hospital. There was someone else's garbage all over the room and used towels in the bathroom. I am not impressed with this hotel at all and I am also not happy.

Please shoot yourself before staying here. I drove 600 miles before arriving and I was met with a rude staff, dirty wornout rooms, and a car alarm going off in the parking lot. Whoever rated this place any higher than a 1 must have stayed somewhere else.

The outside of this seemed very nice. We went inside and quite to our dismay their was no pool. This was a special trip and we were quite disappointed since I had my grandkids and my 80 year old mother in law.

Located close to the university hospital and economical for family of four. Needs serious maintenance work, room was very small, not wheel chair accessible if person required. It met our needs, we had an early morning surgery and needed a place to stay the night before, it was within 1 mile to the hospital. It has location and reasonable price. Would I stay here for vacation? Absolutely not. I would not stay here for a business meeting either.

I believe this was one of the more enjoyable places to stay in Iowa. The prices were extremely reasonable and the breakfast was filled with different assortments. All the employees were very helpful and the rooms were quite tidy. If you are looking for a great place to stay at with very good prices, I strongly advise this Days Inn!

The Days Inn in Coralville was not what I expected. Upon entering the room, I stumbled at the large reclining chair that was obviously broken. I never sat in it for fear of falling out of it! I would have rather not had it in the room. I attempted to shower. Not only was there no water pressure - there was no hot water. When I entered the room the second day, I was greeted with a couple of bugs and a pesty fly! I decided not to stay a third night as reserved. So I checked out.

Shuttle to the hospital-location. Outside entrance on 2nd floor. Very convenient location to hospital, restaurants, Gas Stations, and the mall.

The side of the hotel that faces the street is not bad. Once you get inside, it smells and you can tell it is old and in need of repair. I was given a room on the back side of the hotel and it was terrible, with old carpeting, torn chair, old TV, and a door that looked like it had been broken into and then halfway repaired.
Date of Stay:
July, 2007
Clean sheets, reasonable rate. Advertised internet access did not work. Great for youth groups who will more than likely break something.

Location to events in Coralville & Lowa City was good. Continental breakfast ended at 9:00 AM on Saturday and it¿s too early! Not enough hot water for showers. The only access to the rooms was from the outside with no elevator & the outside steps to the 2nd floor were in poor condition. The paved parking lot behind the motel was not landscaped at all. We ran out of hot water while taking a shower on Sunday morning between 9:30 & 10:00.

"This place is horrible. The rooms are tiny, noisy, dingy, dirty and dank. There isn't even a place to hang clothes up. The lobby is horribly dirty. The staff is lazy; they didn't even bother to clean up the breakfast area. It was more important to sit and read the paper. If this hotel gets 2 stars I shudder to see what a 1 star hote looks like."

Was close to family and friends. It was cold and we had to enter our room from outside. The room was adequate but was not thoroughly cleaned. Mirrors were not cleaned, lights were unplugged, faucet leaked in tub. This was a stop over for us but the room had not been checked before. Not sure if I would stay there again.
