All in all, a good hotel, nicely situated on hotel circle. We had our own car and GPS so easy to find our way around. You feel like your only 5 minutes to everything from here. Cold beer up the street, golfing around the other side of the circle,as is a large mall and "CHEESECAKE FACTORY"; all an easy walk. Prices were fair for what you got. Only suggestion is bring your own bottle opener, as couldn't find one in the room.

Days Hotel (Days Inn) is in the Hotel Circle. A good place to stay to be close to Sea World, the Zoo, Balboa Park, etc. If you are going to LegoLand, stay in or near Carlsbad instead. Our room had a kitchenette with silverware, plates, cookware, etc, which was quite handy for a family of 5 while travelling. The beds were comfortable. Housekeeping did our dishes for us. The saltwater pool is nice, not super, but the kids enjoyed swimming. Staff was friendly. Overall, a good stay for the discounted price we paid. We have stayed in much nicer hotels (4-5 star) in the past. This hotel doesn't really compare in that sense and is quite old. Just the same, we had moderate expectations, and got what we expected.

Excellent value. Lack of parking. Exceeded expectations.

Located on "hotel circle drive" which is a service drive off Interstate 8. Many hotels located along this drive. Very close to all area attractions, including airport & rental cars. Days is rectangle in shape & if you stay at the end near the interstate you can hear the traffic. Our room was at the other end near the pool & was relatively quiet. Has a hot tub and a heated pool, which was a decent size, beach towels are available. Staff very friendly & polite, we rec'd a courtesy call within the 1st- 30 min to make sure everything was OK with the room. Room was gently worn but very clean, housekeeping arrived between 8-9am every morning. Our room had 2 double beds, each bed had 4 overstuffed pillows. I contacted guest services several times to ask questions & they were always helpful & polite. There is a restaurant on the premises, kids (under 12 I believe) eat free with an adult purchase. There are several ice & vending machines. We stayed 6 days/5 nights & overall I was very pleased with my stay. My only issue was we could hear the person in the room above us stomping around night after night, but I've had this issue in other hotels as well. Overall this is a great value for the price.

I've never stayed at a 2 star before but would stay here again anytime. The staff is extremely responsive and helpful. Rooms are clean and were cleaned promptly and requests were handled quickly and efficiently. The on-site restaurant was great for late morning breakfasts and for occasional room service. Good prices!! The only complaint I have is that the web site states that they will take you anywhere within a certain area if their shuttles are available. Due to the increase in gas prices that isn't so. You'll have to take a taxi. You're in a pretty good location but don't base your staying here on the availability of that service. However, the drivers who took us to the zoo and sea world were very friendly and accommodating. If they'd had their choice they would have accommodated us. Overall I'd stay again. I'd just budget more for taxi's.

Enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Easy to find from the airport and easy to get to sights of interest. Went to the zoo (fantastic), Padres baseball game, Cabrillo monument, missions, aquarium, gaslight district to shop and eat and art museum. All were easy to get to from the hotel. Was a whirlwind tour but very much fun. The hotel provides good maps and directions to all the popular places to visit. I enjoyed my stay. The hotel was very full each day of my 3 night stay and parking was at a premium at times. There were enough parking spaces--however, some were not near the registered room so a blocks walk was necessary if getting home late in the evening. Not bad though. Inconvenient maybe. The hotel was nice for the price.

The grounds were clean and well kept. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Maid service was excellent. The pool was clean, large and warm. We had an excellent stay and would recommend this hotel. Also had a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. Hotel was centrally located for all of our excursions. The Pam Pam restaurant served good food and meals were free for kids under 12. Parking was tight a couple of times but not terrible.

We were given a room in the executive building, which sounded good, except that the hallways smelled and the room was always very muggy. The beds and Pillows were extremely uncomfortable. The room was very clean though, except for the mold in the windows from the humidity or something. It was nice being close to the pool, which was clean and WARM. YAY! and secluded in a nice area. The directions they give out, which are on the back of the room diagram were VERY HELPFUL, except for directions to the Animal Kingdom. Follow a map closely because there aren't signs telling where to turn off the freeway. We had an item stolen from our room by housekeeping. We were positive, but the front desk wouldn't really believe us. When we got home, we had a message that the item had been located in housekeeping and they would mail to us, but there was no apology just a lame excuse of they didn't know how it got there. Be careful. For places to eat, head East from the hotel and you will find a lot of choices. Do not head West. We found this location a great middle point for absolutely Everything. I would stay here again if it weren't for the NO apology thing and the beds.

It was our first time in San Diego and there were many options on Hotel Circle to choose from. We decided to get the cheapest deal available and was surprised by the value we got. Free shutles to the San Diego Zoo and SeaWorld and free parking. The hotel resturant had great food. Also, other dinning options and the beach were less than a 5 minute drive away.

We had a great stay at this hotel! The rooms are very spacious and clean. The beds are really comfortable! I was delighted to find that our room had a large mini-fridge and microwave. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and accomodating, as was the restaurant staff. The restaurant was a great surprise as well, with happy hour specials that can not be beat! We dined for a inexpesive, delicious breakfast as well. The pool area is nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the San Diego area. Our stay was 3 nights.

Great for the price, had coffee maker, microwave, frig. Comfortable and clean.Left privacy card on door one day and still got room cleaned after 6pm.Pool is out of the way in the back, could have been warmer.Close to attractions, few restaurants nearby other than in the various hotels, had to go up the highway to find more choices. Pam Pam was good, a continental breakfast would have been nice. Was quiet, staff nice, had to call customer service to get internet to work but got it going fast.

[...] was so helpful and resourceful. He checked us in early which was great because we had driven in from Los Angeles and were very tired. He also knew the location of a certain fast food place I wanted to go to. And, when I checked out via the phone, he remembered me and was very courteous.

Spent 6 nights and was extremely satisfied. I doubt there is a better deal in Mission Valley. Room appeared to be fairly newly decorated. Everything worked and the staff was great. The Cafe on the premises was inexpensive with good food. San Diego is my home town and I will try and stay here in the future. Great value.......

Pros: The staff did everything they could to serve us well, including calling the room shortly after check-in to see if we needed anything. The rooms was cramped, but reasonably clean, and everything worked. Noise from neighbors was never an issue. The Hotel Circle location (if you have a car) is very convenient for such attractions as the San Diego Zoon and Sea World. The restaurant, Pam Pam, provided friendly service for breakfast.Cons: The pool was unavailable -- being "redone". They had an arrangement with a hotel two doors up, but to us it was not worth the walk, especially when wet. However, note that reviews of the pool before 12/2007 may not apply when the pool reopens. We ultimately checked out early and moved to another hotel nearby so that we could be closer to a working pool. The hotel has no interior hallway. You enter the room from an exterior walkway, walking by the doors, windows, and AC units of other rooms along the way. While this arrangement is popular -- we found it in every hotel we stayed at on this trip -- I'm not a fan of this setup. The "kitchenette" consisted of a mini fridge and microwave. This may barely meet someone's definition and does allow you to prepare some limited meals, but we expected more.

The heated pool and hot tub were very nice. The kitchenette was very helpful and the furnishings were upscale. The hotel is old and had a bit of a musty smell at first, but I travel with a room deodorizer spray and then put in the Glade Plug-in. We were happy with the room and the staff. The shuttle saves a parking fee at Sea World. Close to the zoo, Sea World, Mission Bay, shopping malls, major freeways. Easy to get around.
