We got the hotel for a very good price, under 100 before tax and I was extremely happy with the location. It was within walking distance to all the sites in historic downtown, including less than a two minute walk to the market. The room was a standard, slightly outdated room but it was clean and all we needed was a place to rest for the night. So much to see in Charleston that you don't need to be in the room at all anyways! Some people mentioned parking was an issue but we stayed on a Sunday over the 4th of July weekend and had plenty of spots to park. I will definately be back if I can get the same price again!

The location The rooms; water backed up in the tub and it was very cramped in the room. The girls at the front desk were very arrogant and almost rude. The late night guy was fine. In general the place seemed to be doing good business so they really didn't care if they met your needs or not.

The rooms were small, but very clean. The best part was the location - almost right across the street from the straw market. Good value for the price.

Needs updating, cleaning up and a better parking situation.

Good location. Quick, easy checkout. TV remote did not work. AC leaked water onto floor-very wet. The first room I had was very bad. After I notified, the office they sent a maintenance man and finally moved me to another room. The AC problem was very obvious (floor totally soaked) and they should not have used it. Otherwise it was what I expected.

I went to this location after checking into my booked location at Days Inn Mt Pleasant and that one was aweful!!! While the other location had very rude staff, this one was very courteous, and gave me a deal since the other location had already charged my account and then wouldnt refund or call the owner. I hadn't origionally booked here because of the high rates and it isn't updated at all for the money. I spoke with the manager, he is professional and friendly, and would stay again if the hotel was updated. The location is perfect for walking around The Battery, but the parking situation is very tight.

Very good location if you want to visit the Market area on foot. There are a number of reasonably priced restaurants on market St and various shops as well. If you arrive by car much past the 3 pm checkin time, there will be almost no parking spaces left in the parking area. There were vehicles double parked behind mine at least twice (blocking me in), and the 2nd time the vehicle actually belonged to one of the front desk employees! One of the cheaper locations in the Historic District area, but the rooms are pretty basic. Staff at hotel was not unfriendly, but did not find them very welcoming either. Stay here for the convenient location, not the room.

I liked its proximity to the hot spots. The rooms were small and bathrooms. The location is great and it has a pool. But if you are looking for something a bit nicer, do stay here.

"I took a group of seniors and we were hit face on with the rudeness of the service desk. Come to find out it was the manager, we were told our cc was declined only to find out it was their fault for a typo! We were given someone else's room keys and then 45 mins later someone was given keys & walked in on two of our senior ladies. The microwaves did not work, some frigs didnt work and the free parking-you better get there before dinner or there won't be any! Thumbs Down!"

Simple and reliable -- v clean and great central location

Convenient location if you want to hangout downtown. Close to all the bars, restaurants & shopping. Free parking is a bonus! Staff is friendly. The bathrooms need updating. Walls and floors look rundown. I would stay here again, for the fact that its downtown and you can stumble back from the bars in minutes. If you are just looking for a place to sleep, this is a good stay.

"The Days Inn on Meeting Street was clean, but smelled strongly of bug spray. We needed to air out the room each time we entered. EVER, because the location is right in the center of the historic district and the price so reasonable, I would 'air out' again if necessary!"

rude staff who were not helpful. Parking a big problem!

Stuffy, the door needed to be slammed to secure it actually locked shut, unfriendly people at desk, no chairs at pool. The hotel itself was horrible. The guy at the desk acted like I was an inconvenience, the pool lacked decent place to lay out (3 lounge chairs), the room was stuffy and the door seemed to never lock shut behind me. I learned the hard way after coming back from being out that I just had to push it open, the only way to secure a tight lock was to slam the door. This was also an issue with a friend who was staying at the same hotel in a different room (they also had electric wires from the outlets loose).

"This place was filthy. As others have said the location is great. But people...if one of the news magazine shows ever came in the health department would close this place down! Whatever you do...BEWARE if you look behind the nightstand. The rooms had sometype of strange odor. This place really needs some work. If you care about cleanliness, this is not the place for you. I have seen better pillows on airplanes. "

we head down to Charleston about 3 times a year. The Days Inn is great. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The location is perfect, walking distance to everything. We will continue to stay at the Days Inn when we are in Charleston.

Great location for historic district. Very limited parking. Leave for any reason and no space left. Not a romantic hotel, definitely not luxury, but if you want to experience historic Charleston with money left in your pocket, this is the place to stay. Easy walking distance to most historic sites/attractions/shopping/restaurants.

The entire place is in serious need of a complete makeover (gutting and starting over). While it may be clean it is so outdated that it appears dirty. Little has been done to keep it up. Outrageous rates for what you get.

Room was normal size. Location was excellent. Personnel were congenial.

Location and hotel clean. The location is great which is why I chose this hotel.
