It was affordable. Poor access from I-65. Easy access going South. Difficult going North. Of all hotels I have stayed in it was not the best nor was it the worst but it may be on the threshold of its economic utility.
Date of Stay:
August, 2008
the hotel looked dirty and rundown from the outside and was hard to get to from other places and the rooms were ok but not the best ive been in and they did not have any restaurants close by to eat at also they did not have shuttle service like they advertised overall i would never stay there again or recamend it to anybody or your services either barbara glaze

Arrived at hotel late at night and was greeted at a window at lobby front door. Room was ok but needed work on shower. Shower had no base and water ran out onto the floor. Beds were comfortable. Area around hotel was not that desirable.

The location was easy to find off H. 65. This moderately priced hotel gave good value in that the room was clean, continental breakfast was appreciated, location near Churchill Downs.
Date of Stay:
October, 2008
Very clean, friendly staff, convenient location. Poor TV reception (storm damage). Nothing fancy, but a good value. Extremely clean room, very nice public areas. Plenty of parking. Very convenient to University of Louisville.
Date of Stay:
September, 2008
Easy to get on the highway. Everything. It looks like a crack den gone south. Exposed wires and sockets. Filthy premises. Poorly lit. Vomit in the parking lot next to my car. It didn't feel safe at all.

It was fairly clean. It was old and needed maintenance. OK for the star level, but was 70's era hotel with few upgrades. At least it was clean.

September, 2008
The breakfast was good. The staff was very rude. I was very dissatisfied with this hotel. It did not have an indoor pool and the outdoor pool was closed. The rooms were not very clean and the staff was rude. I will not stay at this hotel again and I would not recommend it to anyone.
Date of Stay:
August, 2008
Good air conditioning. Strong pine sol smell in the elevator (everyday). This is a good hotel for the price, kind of tough to get to from I-65 North.

Clean and affordable. Didn't see any restaurants within walking distance. Has a pool but if it had an indoor pool it would be our choice to stay each time in Louisville as we visit during August and February.
Date of Stay:
July, 2008
Proximity to event. Very run down, no vent in the bathroom so part of ceiling was coming down, bad reception on TV; pool was not open. Very disappointing.

The front desk staff was kind. Hotel was old and nasty! This hotel is not worth the money. The rooms are not updated and they were dirty. The hotel grounds are not kept clean. The staff had to kill a rat that stayed in the parking lot area. Drunks walked around trying to talk to guest. Glass and trash every where. The pool was closed due to an earthquake. Since when do we have them in sky?
Date of Stay:
September, 2007
Worn and very noisy. Staff wasn't friendly. TV was too blurry to watch. I was in a room at the end by the interstate so the noise was terrible. The room was clean but dated. The staff was not friendly. It's in a rough neighborhood.

Desk clerk at night was lazy and did not want to check on roll away bed. Daughter left shorts with 18 dollars in pocket I called to see if they had them the lady was supposed to call me back and never did finally I got ahold of a supervior and they could not find them.
Date of Stay:
February, 2007
Colors in the room. Old, shabby in outside hallways and elevator, etc. Rude, drunk people went banging on the doors at 3am and shouting, I called the front desk and they said they had a security person already outside trying to alleviate the situation, but it continued for quite some time. It was very upsetting. The rooms were clean, but it is old, run-down.

Absolutely nothing. Old and rundown dump. This hotel was the worst hotel I have stayed in for many years. It hasn't been updated in at least 20 years, the ceiling wasn't properly repaired, the carpets were filthy and there weren't any 3-prong electrical outlets in the room! The hotel is extremely hard to access because there are no signs to the hotel and the cross streets don't allow access from the interstate to the side where the hotel is located. The area of downtown is a slum, the one-way streets (without signs) aren't lit and the other residents of the hotel were slamming doors and screaming at 4:00am in the morning!

The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Complimentary internet access on their computer. This hotel is difficult to get to. This hotel is rundown. There are safety issues. This hotel is difficult to get to from the south. Large parts of this hotel are very rundown, and because of the location and the shared space with a gas station, there are a lot of characters to worry about. However, the hotel staff is unusually helpful and friendly better than any hotel I have ever stayed at and they were that way when I stayed at this hotel earlier this year. Very refreshing. And it's one of the few things the hotel has going for it because of the rundown condition and inconvenient location.

Location was good. Bugs in the light celing. Musty room. The workers came to worked on a door knob in the bath room while we were out without us knowing. Very old hotel not one I like because of the outside entrance. The maintenance crew came in while we were out to fix a door knob that we didn't even realize was broken. They should have told us that were to be done before it happened. Had I been alone, I would not have stayed there.
Date of Stay:
April, 2006
The staff was very friendly and helpful. You could only get to this hotel from one direction off the interstate. This hotel was in an iffy area, and it made me nervous to park my car there and stay alone. The security latch on the door was mounted incorrectly and if someone wanted to get in by force, then they would have been able to. The decor of the room I stayed in was in dire need of an update.
