The location was great we were just out of town an avoided a lot of traffic. The people there were very nice and they had a good breakfast.

My husband and I made the mistake of assuming that because it is a Days Inn it would be like all the others we had stayed in. This is no better than a roadside motel. In fact we have stayed in road side motels that were better. The room stank of mold and mildew. The sheets felt damp. The noise was unbelievable but that could be because we were right beside the main office and the stairs to the upper level. The shower head was so low even I, who is only 5'3", had to duck to get my head wet. Can you imagine what it must be like for anyone who is taller? The amenities that you share adjacent to the Days Inn is actually across and down the road. Breakfast was hard boiled eggs, stale bread and danishes in cello. Even the coffee was awful. Bar Harbor itself is worth the trip but do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Was there to visit Bar Harbor area and participate in outdoor birding event. For a Days Inn, the quality was low-moderate. Rooms need updating, but have wonderful king beds. Overall, I'd stay there again because is priced well.

Dont believe the lies in their advertisement- this is not a watefront hotel - it is on the wrong side of Route 3. Route 3 is the busiest road on the island. The noise from cars is non-stop - your windows are only about 30 feet from road, adn sound insulation is non-existent. Also- you cant really see the water - the hotel is directly across the road from the huge Cat Ferry terminal - thats all you see. Moldy, smelly rooms, lazy service. A tourist trap.... There are dozens of hotels that are better and cheaper. Dont be fooled by the Days Inn logo - this is just a cheap old roadside mitel.

The room was small and very dated, it is in need of an upgrade. The bathroom was tiny and had no vent fan and the bathtub didn't drain while showering. The bed was reasonably comfortable but the noise from nearby Route 3 traffic was intolerable. The door rattled with every passing vehicle and traffic sounded like it was at the foot of the bed. The complimentary breakfast was ok, but there were so few places to eat sit you were forced to take it back to your room. All in all not a very enjoyable experience. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

"My friend and I were traveling to Bar Harbor and stayed most nights at the Highbrook Motel -- much better & much cheaper. Unfortunately, they were booked for the night we planned to arrive, so we stayed at the Days Inn. Thank God it was only for one night. The A/C didn't work, the room smelled, and it wasn't very clean. We actually slept with the lights on in fear of what might come crawling out during the night! Don't stay here. Go to the Highbrook instead!"

"Smelled, noisy, stains on bedspread. no curain on bathroom window, outside was a large fuel oil tank. wrong directions in Days Inn book/interstate exit #'s were changed. not fit for any chain to have their name on. one night was one too many."

"I like this hotel for the value for money. It takes 10 - 15 minutes from the hotel to a ranger-led program in Acadia, which we participated frequently. The problem I had was that wireless internet did not work for me. I suspect they only support 802.11a, and not 802.11b/g. I ended up spending about $7 on an Internet cafe in town to access mail, which was not too bad, but certainly unexpected given that it is advertised. "

"Room smelled musty, turned on A/C unit to try to dry out room, only worked on fan, no A/C. They offered another room but it was no better. Would have changed hotels, but only staying for one night. Bought some incense and beer in town and the conditions were much better. "

"Nice staff. Convenient location for ferry traffic. Room furniture okay but walls, and carpet were old and dingy. Plumbing from nearby rooms was surprisingly noisy ."
