I was very unpleased with my stay at the days inn in Arcata. Walking to our room the halls smelled of pot. Then we went to the jacuzzi and pool, first the pool wasn't heated like it said and second they had naked people, completely naked people in the jacuzzi. This is not a family hotel. The carpets are just as gross as the walls. Sorry but I will not pay or would I stay for free at this hotel. Next time I will pay more for a cleaner and healthier enviroment for my family.

The location was perfect, near the ocean, right on 299. The continental breakfast had limited items. The room was comfortable and clean. The location was perfect for seeing Eureka to the South, Redwoods National and State Parks to the north, and right on 299 for the scenic route back to I5.

On the positive side, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the in-house restaurant let me borrow a bowl and spoon for my own breakfasts, the temperature in the room was fine, the room was neat and clean, there was a working internet-connected computer in the lobby for guest use. All-in-all a very decent place. On the negative side, although the room was clean, the bathroom paint texture belied the fact that there had been water damage, the towel rack was at a peculiar angle (not enough for towels to fall off), and several people had difficulties using room keys for the hall and pool entry doors. I would stay there again considering that it is so close to Humboldt college.

What's to say, it was a motel and it satisfied our needs.

Close cheap and convenient. Staff was horrible and hotel dirty. Could not get staff to get toilet paper, they told me to find the housekeepers in the halls and ask them. I also at another point had to ask for towels, as no one came to clean the rooms, and I was told that they would bring them to the room and eventually they did, but I waited half a day. Front staff rude.

The hotel was under construction a little and has expected amenities and services. That said the differance for me was the service. The staff gave excellent advice aout the area, which is seemingly difficult lately accross the country and was more friendly than I expected. In fact the service I received is very rare for a basic hotel. The location was excellent for my needs, that being close to a really good sunset scene and close to Redwoods National Park. Very easy to find. - J.

This motel was our least favorite on this trip. The person who checked us in acted as if he were doing us a favor. No Welcome, not even a smile. The doors to the rooms slammed when they closed. Our bathroom door stuck. The motel has a new owner so, hopefully, there will be improvements made. Over all, we did get a good night's sleep.

Noisy rooms, poor sound isolation from hall and adjacent rooms,TV very poor. Working to improve, but a ways to go.

Hair dryer not working, front desk not helpful, maid got me one from lost and found... Long black hair on the sheets, I'm a blond... What's with all of the homeless people pan handling throughout the parking lot?

Very easy to find, and close to shopping. There were creepy poeple hanging around the entrance.

"Didnt have continental breakfast as advertised, not 3 stars as advertised, more like 1 1/2"

It is located near store, restaurant, and freeway conveniently. The walls are thin, you can hear people talking outside the rooms. This hotel is perfect for people who needs to make a stop before reaching their next destination. The prices are great considering all you really need is a bed, shower, and toilet.

"The rooms are old, run down, uncomfortable and dirty. However, the staff was very nice. We changed hotels after the first night and I would not recommend this hotel."

The pool and spa. Complimentary breakfast ran out of food/coffee early; loud andnoisy students. I would not stay at Days Inn again. There were loud, noisy students who were allowed to be disturbing for three hours before they were finally stopped. We were kept awake until 2 am the second night. Complimentary breakfast was short on food and coffee the second day and staff was not attentive enough to this.

"The staff was friendly but the rooms were very run down and not very clean. When the guests in the room next door closed their door, the walls of our room shook. We have stayed at other properties in the same general area and have not had any problems. Luckily were were only there for 2 nights. Will pay a little more next time for cleaner accomodations."

The jacuzzi and spa was way to hot and nobody fixed it. It sucked and the lady was rude when we asked to get it fixed.

"I believe this was still North Coast Inn when I stayed. They had some patrons who appeared to be living at the hotel, I hope it has been updated as things were looking pretty worn. I am planning a 5 night visit this week and will probably stay here as the price is right..."

Facility was in like-new condition. Internet service was very helpful. I can't complain. I had a pleasant stay. The staff was friendly and hotel wasconveniently located near highway and shopping center. Great value!

The staff were friendly. No free breakfast. Decent place. Bathrooms were very small and they did not police the swimming pool area at all, which means unsafe conditions and children were occurring on both days we were there. In fact the lock to get in was broken so anyone could have walked in. We found empty beer cans in the afternoon on a Sunday, so the pool area had not been cleaned the night before or that morning. I had taken this room to provide free breakfasts for my ravenous teenagers and found out that they did not offer it.

The room was far better than I expected! The room was very large. The pool was gorgeous because it was in a sperate building itseld and was heated. Along with a pool it had a hot tub. I greatly appreciated that fact that one of the staff members was very useful and that the sink was outside the bathroom because it was easy for one person to brush their teeth while the other was taking a shower. Good location. Stores and food places across the street and adjacent to it (McDonald's, Ray's Food Place, Round Table, Subway, Cafe Kabob, etc.)
