"You actually don't have a reservation here, Sir. We suggest you contact Orbitz" (?!?! : they had the phone on their desk, but were unable to find Orbitz number, can you believe this ?). Finally I got a room. Orbitz shows only one type of room for this hotel, in fact there are 4 of them : oceanfront, poolview, pooldirectaccess, parking view). Some of the rooms have separate kitchen. As you cannot select your criteria, it's a lottery to have all facilities.No carpet in the corridors, so be assured you'll perfectly hear the suitcases, cleaning trolleys etc on the tiles, early in the morning or late in the evening.Cannot adjust the air conditionning, which is under central command. To avoid cold airstreams, use towels to block them - it's not so easy, but finally works.The self parking may be significantly floaded on hard rains.

The hotel location was fantastic. There is a regular bus sevice into South Beach every 20 mins. The bus stop isstraight outside the hotel. The hotel restaurant seves very good food and the rooms are clean and tidy.We were very please with our stay at the hotel.

The front desk is always helpful eveytime I need assistance. The room service is fine. I stayed over the weekend of Valentine's Day. Location is the best. Staff were nice. The room is a little bit disappointing but I stay in the beach most of the time so it doesn't bother me. I will be back hopefully in April and in December if time permits. I will recommend the place to friends who are not picky on the rooms.

This hotel is approximately 45 minutes from Miami International Airport. We arrived at about 12:30 A.M. which was fine because there is 24 hour desk service. Valet parking is 10 but self parking across the street is 8.00 and faster. The rooms are a decent size. Ours had a stove, fridge and toaster but no microwave. I love that you can open your door and be at the pool or beach in a matter of minutes , unlike in high rise hotels. The Thunderbird is need of some renovation for example the room was freezing cold when we got there. The vent is high up on the wall and was missing the lever to close it. They were unable to fix this. We tried putting a plastic bag over it, paper etc. but it didnt work. Finally we climbed up there and pried the 30 or so little flaps closed. It was still cold as they have central air and you have no option to turn it off. The Publix supermarket is across the street which is very handy. The restaurant on the premises offers burgers as well as main courses. Outside the room on the balcony or patio there are 2 chairs and a table. The pool is a good size. Small baby pool also. The Jacuzzi was nice and hot. There is a small bar which had entertainment of some kind each night. The beach is beautiful blue. Water a little chilly and sometimes rough in April but doable. Chairs on the beach were a little scarce. Umbrellas were extra. We bought one at the supermarket. You can see the sun rise but not set. There were many families, a couple of loud people and older people. Many French and Russian speaking. I would stay again.

Loved the hotel. Great location on the beach. Excellent for the price. Older hotel with older guests but lots of charm. I took my two teenage daughters with me and they had a great time on the beach.

the location could not be better, close to the beach and highways the restaurant staff seem a bit racial, i guess she didn't expect people of color to come to breakfast or maybe she was having a bad morning My wife and i enjoyed the Days Inn Thunderbird, the only hickup was the elderly ladie at the desk of the continental breakfast who didn't seem to want us there. we are a black couple (really cute couple). I think she was overcome by the amount of senior citizens that morning.

Warnings: They charge $8 or $10 a day for parking and extra resort fees in addition to the online travel website fee. Positives : Beach and pool area were beautiful. Lobby nice. The room had a large closet, mini fridge, coffee maker, ironing board, iron, blow dryer, and plenty of pillows. Private balcony with ocean view. Negatives: The alarm clock kept buzzing every few minutes throughout the night. The beds were hard and uncomfortable and sheets not fitted and coming off. The t.v. was old, the picture was blurry and sound fuzzy. The bathroom was tiny with an old rusted door, no sink counter space, sink faucet didn't work right, and tub enamel was peeling. Security: there were a lot of men walking around with security T-shirts on and the motel did not fee safe. Some of the staff was good and helpful, others curt and unhelpful. If you want a nice room and good night's sleep, go someplace else. If you just care about the pool and beach, its ok.

I am very disappointed with my stay here. I would never stay here or recomend this place to anyone. We had three people in the room. We were told we could only have two breakfast coupons and two towels even though we had three people. The noises throughout the night were enough to keep everyone awake. When we went to complain, they made us think we were making it up. The least they could of done is offered us a free night. Finally, the restaurant charges for everything under the sun and you cant even get a free re-fill. I hope for the future that the things change or there will be no business for this hotel. P.S. The temp control does not work in the room, so we had to keep the door open to stay warm

Friday morning staff was very rude and unhelpful. The stay was good, people were friendly except Friday morning. Other than that, I enjoyed myself.

We feel very comfortable at this hotel and know the staff at the reception,the restaurant, the bar and the swimming grounds so we feel familar there. The first two days we were not so lucky this time, because of our neighbours who kept partying until 3 or 4 in the morning. After we changed rooms, it was perfect-

The pool and beach. The continental breakfast. The continental breakfast was a joke. You have to get a voucher at the front desk and present it to the waitress at the restaurant. You are told that you are entitled to one toasted bagel, one cup of coffee and one small orange juice. If I wanted to get a bowl of cereal for my small children I would have to pay for it. They would be better off not offering a continental breakfast at all.

The room was adequate but had a peculiar design with bathroom at entry and shower facing door. The top for the toilet was a different shape than it should have been. Room was fine in terms of bed, cleanliness, and television but the hallways and stairwells were weak. The lobby was rather run down looking.

The simplicity was very fresh. Also, the cafe was very pleasant. There is a wonderful lady running a salon in the hotel. So nice and convenient. Lack of parking. Although the parking staff was great. Especially the concierge. My wife and I had a very pleasant stay. We enjoyed breakfast each morning at the cafe by the pool. Friendly service, good food, nice beach location. Very good for the price. Oh yeah, the nice lady in the in-house salon was a great benefit.

I have been staying here for the past 3 years..the location is great..lots of stores..restaurants..supermarket..pharmacies..not to mention you dont have to walk a mile on the sand just to get to the ocean..its just great..the staff is always very helpful..your room will always be clean..the fact that they dont have carpet in the rooms but have tile is great being that carpet is always so nasty and full of who knows what...
