Dar El Khamlia Guest House Merzouga

Dar el Khamlia is a private traditional and authentic guesthouse. It offers hospitality and serene home. It is in one edge of the village with view over sand dunes and the village. There is the living room and patio, which give a little cold when it is to warm outside. It is perfect place for the ones who does not want many tourists around, want to be near the local people and learn about theirs life. Located in Erg Chebbi, the biggest sand dunes in Morocco, 7 km from Merzouga.

The rooms are in typical Moroccan stile with double bed. The bathroom with shower and toilet.

We can arrange camel trek into the sand dunes, to watch sunset or sunrise, to overnight there in the nomad tent. Or excursion by 4x4 around the sand dunes, to visit nomad people living there. You are welcome.

We serve authentic traditional Berber food - tajine, couscous and other delicacy. Moroccan breakfast. We offer half board.

Follow the trail through lush palm groves in the shadow of Erg Chebbi, the biggest sand dunes in Morocco to a small village Ksar Khamlia, called "The South Gate of the Desert" and enjoy the hospitality in our Guest House Dar el Khamlia. The village is located 7km from Merzouga on way to Touz. From here go the way to Zagora and M´Fis - minerals mine. It is near to a real lake (salt) Dayet Sriji with birds of which flamingos are most beautiful.

From Marrakech, drive East to Erfoud via Ouarzazate
From Fez, drive South to Errachidia via Meeknes and then to Erfoud.

From Erfoud, continue South 14 km to Rissani, through the village and follow the road Southeast 30 km to Merzouga. Continue around Merzouga and about a 7 km you are in Ksar Khamlia.
