Dar Al-Yasmin

This hotel is located in the oldest section of the city and is centrally located near Omayad Mosque – Haniana Church. Foreigners are welcome at this mosque, though women are asked to cover their arms, legs, and hair. The nearby Tomb of St. John is also popular with guests of the Dar Al-Yasmin. The closest major airport to the Dar Al-Yasmin is the Damascus International Airport. Guests may wish to get around in the city using small buses known as servees; the routes are written in Arabic only. Taxis are readily available throughout the city.

Air conditioning, mini bars, televisions with satellite channels, and Internet access are furnished in all the rooms at the Dar Al-Yasmin. The furniture is handmade by skilled Syrian carpenters.

This hotel was once a palace, and it was renovated using some of the original building materials. The Dar Al-Yasmin offers a restaurant that can accommodate up to 200 people. Both Western and Arabian foods are served. A sauna bath is located onsite for relaxation, while the Oriental Hall in the hotel offers a sitting area. Guests may wish to enjoy a Turkish bath or hammam.
