Hotel Danmark was decorated in several stages, with a main building that's centuries old and rightfully part of the old City. The cornerstone of the main building was laid in the 1790's by the City's Head Confectioner, Jens Raae. He ran his business out of the cellar and used the rest of the building as an inn. The history of Hotel Danmark is an ancient one and we like to claim that it possibly is the oldest hotel in Copenhagen although an inn in the 18th century has very little in common with our modern notion of hotels. The cobblestone inner courtyard offers a quiet oasis in the midst of the pulsating city life, as well as an ideal place to enjoy your morning coffee in the summer. Hotel Danmark is everything a modern hotel should be, except streamlined. Our secret to good service? A smile, a good atmosphere and good contact with our guests. We're at your service 247 professional and informal at the same time.Hotel Danmark is, like all other Brøchner Hotels, a carbon-neutral environment. The energy used at the hotel is covered by carbon quotas that are subsequently deducted and eliminated. Furthermore, we avoid unnecessary laundry, use energy-saving light bulbs, use on-off sensors in all our corridor areas, buy from environmentally friendly suppliers, to name but a few of our efforts in this respect.

Hotel Danmark has the best possible location in the city. Rådhuspladsen (City Hall Square) and Tivoli Gardens are opposite to the hotel and Strøget,a fantastic shopping street, can be found just around the corner. In the neighbourhood you will find plenty of good restaurants, museums and the Danish Design Center. The Black Diamond, Christansborg and Nyhavn can be reached by foot in few minutes. Hotel is also close to the trains and buses for those who want to have more adventurous visit.
