The Dalton had great character, good price, excellent location and the staff was very helpful! Ok, if you are a generally super picky person, or if you are looking for some sort of transcendental experience, the Dalton may not be the place for you. But, if you are looking for a centrally located nicely appointed hotel for a good price, stay here.

I have stayed in Victoria many times and nothing beats this hotel for the value. I would reccomend it to anybody who wants to be central downtown with no need for a car. Continental Breakfast was included. Clean, staff were great & informative. $ for $ best value in Victoria area. Ask at front desk for map and tours around city

Good value. Poor sound proofing of rooms. Overall the hotel was good, but the noise from the hall was easily heard in my room. We were tired and slept ok, but if you are a light sleeper it could be a problem.

On the website this hotel looks wonderful. It is actually a horrid little place. Our room was tiny, just big enough for the queen size bed. The view was of office buildings. Everything smelled of mildew. The porcelain had worn off the tub. The walls were faded and paint was chipped. The door was discolored; looked like water damage down the whole side. The duvet cover was a cheap imitation velvet. It was the most unpleasant hotel room I've ever been in. All of this for over $* night! And we even had to pay extra to park. Wish I'd taken the time to read reviews. At least the staff was friendly and we could spend most of our time in the downtown area.

Service was excellent, staff was friendly, the breakfast was good. The hotel was dirty and dusty, the furniture in the room was old, the shower was falling apart. The staff at this hotel were friendly and accommodating. The continental breakfast was great, you can make your own waffles, the coffee was tasty and they had plenty of other options. It was in walking distance of all the sights. However, the hotel was dirty, dusty and in need of a really good cleaning from head to toe. The room was a good size but the furniture was very old and worn, the shower was falling apart. In one of the hallways there was a pipe sticking out of the floor.

"The staff were very friendly, the hotel is nice and centrally located (I recommend the sushi restaurant across the street) The building was a bit ratty looking, but nice enough for a budget traveller. Warning: the walls are a bit thin; I was there over Valentine's Day. Ick."

The bed and pillow was comfortable. Mediocre continental breakfast and room blinds faulty. Very basic, clean hotel in a convenient location. Comfortable beds/pillows with very small, plain room. Staff courteous and helpful. Continental breakfast mediocre.

Perfect location. Great staff. Great price and great room, I would highly recommend a boutique room it was amazing. The hotel has character and charm. We would stay at the Dalton Hotel again and would recommend it to others. The location is perfect, we walked downtown and enjoyed all the attractions in town, the staff were friendly and helpful, our boutique room was clean, comfortable, spacious and overall just fantastic ! The free breakfast was great and we really enjoyed the overall charm of the hotel.

The look of the hotel was very downtown rustic/modern. The rooms are really small, only good for a couple or single traveler. Overall this was a decent place for me. Good central location and plenty to check out within a few blocks in any direction. Hotel staff was nice, no worries there. The rooms are small so if you're traveling with anymore than two people then look at getting a suite.

Location was great. The hotel is extremely old and the rooms and hallways are cramped. The location of the hotel is wonderful, right in downtown Victoria. Other than that, there is not much good about this place. It is a very old hotel and it claims to be recently "remodeled". Please note that it should state recently painted because that's the only updates that have been made. The rooms are small, although the bed was comfortable. The hallways are very narrow. There is no airflow in the building, thus it smells musky throughout. Parking is an issue. It is truly a 1-star place.

Convenient location. Cramped room older facility. A convenient location with moderate cost. The staff could be more friendly and helpful.

Nothing; not in million years would we like anything about this hotel; we travel a lot but never see one this bad before. Not comfort; rather hostel. I don't like anything about this hotel; the sheets, room are smelly old, and no hot water; like you stuck in 18century room with creepy noises/setting. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. My spouse and I travel a lot for business and leisure; and this hotel is by far a creepy smelly old broken down hostel we've ever stay in for way over price of what it worst. We feel unsafe from the street entering in; because of the bums and liquor store east down town location. Than greed by creepy 18th century old smelly room that kept us up all night. Feel like we're in haunted hostel hotel rather than anything. And this was supposed to be our wedding trip to close friend experiences but so much for that to enjoy. Conditions are horrible; even motels are better rating than this hotel. Unless you're drunk and just don't care.
