My boyfriend & I simply went to this hotel to relax. Unfortunately, the hotel pool had been rented out for the night and was hosting a "Hip-Hop" event. We were unaware of the event and would have passed on this hotel. The line to valet park your car was extremely long (and mandatory, by the way, $22 to park your car as a guest of this hotel) What a racket. I overhead another guest explaining to the front desk that the only reason they were staying in this particular hotel was because of the pool. He told her she could join the party for a $25 cover charge. She wasn't pleased. Rooms were small and needed some TLC. Honestly, I felt scared and not safe.

Location is closed to airport, room is comfortable. Parking charge is too hight.

What a wonderful surprise. This hotel was one of the nicest I ever stayed at in the LA area. I would recommend it to everyone. It would have been perfect if the ice machine on our floor worked. As is, there was ice one floor below, so not a great hardship.

i can't say anything nice about the place really. at first glance it looks great very modern and interesting. you glance longer and see that this very new hotel is decorated so cheaply that it makes it look run down already! chipped and scuffed. very shoddy! the service we received was absolutely awful. we were in l.a. during the heat wave last week with temps over 100 and our room had no working a/c. we started a trauma with the front desk at 9am about it that i just don't have the patience to relive. let us just say it ended in them offering to move our room sometime after MIDNIGHT and saying to me in response to my frustration "oh, it is to bad you didn't use our valet service or we would comp it for you" ( valet is $22 a night and there was plenty of street parking across the street). we actually had the 4th or 5th person we talk to about the a/c problem say she would look into a room change and get back to us in a half hour after she made sure the a/c was working in a new room. only to find out that what really happened in a half hour was her shift ended and she would be gone so she wouldn't have to deal with it. i wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. just for record i am not a 5 star hotel kind of girl so i wasn't having out of the world expectations. the next leg of our trip was in sad diego and we stayed in the howard johnson in encinitas. it was fantastic! clean and friendly with kick butt a/c. oh there was free breakfast so if you stay there for some reason be sure to ask for your coupon. and remember that the "free wi-fi" does not work in the rooms.

Seemed like a gay hangout... The hotel was overall creepy. The curtains on the walls were weird... along with the red light in the bathroom. Hidden fees including parking. You must use valet. Nice bed and nice shower.

It was only noisy because Custom was hosting a July 4 pool party and some of the guests staying on my floor were a little bit excited! This is an ideal location for passengers in transit -- I stayed only one night and there was a free shuttle bus that picked me up from LAX when I arrived and took me to LAX to catch my outgoing flight. I would gladly have stayed longer though -- great atmosphere, it's modern, friendly staff, awesome location -- you get the true feeling like you're in LA, it has all the amenities and it's absolutely spotlessly clean. Enjoy! :).

Very little. 20 pages would be more like it. I didn't like this hotel at all! The parking was horrible. The environment was not family friendly ( or even friendly to someone who has morals friendly)The decor leaves a lot to be desired. I felt like I was in a big closet with a sink. I would have never in my life picked this place on my own. The one positive the staff there was great.

Spartan, modern furnishings in the room. Good mattress and good wall-mounted TV. Lobby is functional, but barren. Convenient to LAX with great views of the airport from rooms on the south side of the hotel. $22/night valet parking is almost compulsory, but there is limited on-street parking if you are willing to walk a block to the hotel.

The hotel was plain and simple. It was clean and nice for the price. The shuttle was right on time they said about 15 minutes and it was about 15 minutes. The only thing the shuttle starts at around 7:30 AM. If you have an early flight you have to take a taxi for about $ 15.00 with tip, and call the front desk about an hour early so that they could call the cab. Across the street from the hotel are a few restaurants. The one at the hotel is for hamburgers and fast bar food. I think I would stay there again.

The Custom Hotel is a fun and quirky LA hotel in the spirit of The Standard and Hard Rock Hotels. It is aiming for a young, hip, and fun traveler. I saw the other reviews here on Travelocity and thought I would even the playing field a little bit by sharing my experience. The bed sits in the middle of the room, the headboard doubles as a console table and stowed underneath is a rolling red cushioned bench for, uh...sitting on. The rain shower is wonderful. The entry way has a lit hutch that almost resembles a built-in bar. The bed is incredibly comfortable and if you are able to sleep in, it's a great place to do it. There's a club next to the pool and a DJ spins beats most nights of the week. Hotel guests are automatically granted free access to all of the parties and you can bill your drinks to your room. Yes, the valet situation is ridiculous and expensive. However, if you investigate, you can by-pass it. There is neighborhood parking less than five minutes away.No valet, no problem. This is a situation that Custom Hotel might want to address. People don't like surprise charges and with the economy the way it is, the young people Custom wants to attract are rightfully a little pissed to not be told up front about the valet deal. The room has free wi-fi and a stereo with an iPod dock. The cool flat screen TV is built into a strange place that runs parallel to the bed instead of in front of it. A little illogical but, no big shakes. We weren't there to watch TV.

They don't tell you there is no parking. $20.00 per day valet. if you park in the spots clearly available your car will be towed. Other than that it is a clean and quiet hotel. it was actually pretty neat.

I like the simplicity of the rooms, the good quality sheets and the cleanliness of the place in general. Depressing dark Grey halls. Loud pool party on weekends. Smokers standing near air vents that bring the smoke into the rooms. The staff is friendly and professional. The hotel's location is excellent for that area of the city. Close to the airport and the beaches. The rooms are clean and efficient with comfortable beds and quality linens. The hallways are a bit of a shock as they have been painted dark Grey and there is no natural light to soften the somewhat nightmarish effect.

The Parking sucks! There's no self parking. The room was mediocre, at best. The price was too high for Valet Parking. Needless to say, I will not ever stay there again, or recommend this hotel to anyone! It reminds me of a cheap motel. I was totally disappointed! The Breakfast was good. Definately not a 3.5 Star Hotel. More like a 2.

This place sucks I will not butter that up 1 bit. I staved for an extended period of time thinking I was in a good location. Man what a mistake! My view was a airport. The pool was big enough for a family of 4 and that might be pushing it. The drinks at the bar were watered down and sold for 12 dollars each. Everytime I parked my car it was 20 bucks! The room is depressing I felt like I was in the movie set for the Shinning 2. The people at the front desk cant help you out with anything so dont even waste your breath asking. The only good thing I can say is the bed was great and they cleaned your room everyday in a timely fashion. O yeah 1 more thing DONT even think about watching TV! Its 5 dollars a TV show and 10 Dollars a movie! Its like a cheap cheezy Vegas trap! This hotel is crap! Spend your money 10 minutes up the road at 1 of the beaches trust me!

I really did not know what to expect. It appears that this hotel attempts to be swanky, but comes off almost cheap and as if it is still under construction. The rooms were the smallest I had ever been in and there wasn't even a closet to hang clothes up. The front desk workers were apathetic, the service was OK, but I was deeply disappointed with the room size and amenities. I would never stay here again, this is a $-/night room at best.

The hotel missed 2 wake up calls and my car was damaged in their parking lot. The hotel is next to a grocery store and a shopping cart rammed into my car. The hotel would not pay for the damages. I would not stay in this hotel again if they paid for my room. I gave them every opportunity to make it up to me. They dropped the ball over and over. I have spent over 12 room nights at that hotel and they would not help me out at all.

We were on a business trip for our ministry. It's a great location, the staff was very friendly, the price was great for this location, but there was not enough space for us.

Many good restaurants closeby. Elevators need work - not enough light in room. The room is clean and orderly, albeit somewhat spartan. The in-room vending is interesting. There were minor problems with the room that were immediately taken care of. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
