Crown Plaza is an inexpensive but very nice hotel. Staffs are efficient and friendly. We had a good time staying there in July. The only drawback is that we had to worry about catching shuttles every day. There are free shuttles from the hotel to most theme parks. However, the schedule is not very convenient. So you should plan your trips well and make a reservation in advance for your seat. Let me give you the schedule for July. Universal Orlando: A shuttle leaves hotel at 8:05 am and 10:05 am. It returns from Universal at 7:05 pm and 9:05 pm. If you miss the shuttles, a taxi between Universal and the hotel costs you about $10 including tips. The bus station is about half mile away from Universal. The shuttle to Seaworld leaves at 8:50 am and returns at 5:30 pm. If you miss the shuttle, you can take I-drive bus next to the hotel to Seaworld, which will cost $1.25 per person. Remember to bring your coins before you get onto a bus. The hotel is far from Disney. A shuttle departs from the hotel to Disney at 8:20 am and 10:10 am. It drops you at Epcot only and picks you up at Epcot only (I hate that!!!) at 6:15pm or 10:45pm. If you miss the shuttle and want to save money from taking a taxi, you should go to Transportation center (Magic Kingdom) to take Bus 50 ($2) to Seaworld, and then take either Bus 8 or I-drive (green line) to Crow Plaza Universal. But taking bus will waste you a lot of time. We used Mears shuttles for airport transportation, $29 per person for a round trip. The service is pretty good. BTW, to use internet in your room, you have to pay. But you can go to the lobby and get a wireless connection free. Overall, we enjoyed our staying at Crown Plaza Universal. It has excellent location accessing to Universal, Seaworld, many restaurants and supermarkets, but not to Disney.

i love the hotel we got there early and they had a room available for us to check in. we had a queen room and we love the view of the pool and we had a a micro wave and mini firdge. Room service changed our sheets when we asked and left a cleaned room. The staff was very friendly and they had complimentary internet room to check your email. I was close to international drive and wet and wild waterpark and not very far from disney.

My son, mom and myself were staying at Crowne Plaza for 5 nights. From the moment we walked in till the last day we checked out was a wonderful experience. We were on the 4th floor with a great view of the pool and not to mention the friendly and helpful gestures of the staff. The hotel had 2 restaurants, good food, friendly waiters/waitresses and excellent hospitality. Our room had 2 queen size beds, and they were both extremely so comfortable, that we didn't feel like leaving our room. They give you earplugs, eye mask, a c.d. and a bed spray for your linens to help you sleep better. The pool was nicely heated, and so was the jacuzzi. The restroom was very clean and big, only one bad comment about the shower, the water was nice and hot, but the water had no pressure, you feel like you are standing under a sprinkler. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, and we will for sure stay here again in the near future.

We had a great stay at The Crowne Plaza Orlando Universal hotle. The service staff (housekeeping, front desk, pool side bar and Waiter and others), were very friendly and helpful. The hotel offers a lot of activities for the kids and the rooms are nice size, comfortable beds and extremely clean. The transportatin to the park need addtional drop off and pick up times. We had a wonderful time and we would stay again.

The room was neat, but small. I agree with others..wish I had one of their beds at home. Also, hard to believe that 180/night does not come with internet access. Internet is 10. It is a shame that free WIFI is available for free at the closest fast food restaurant where you mind spend 2, but not at the place charging 180 per night. Just my opinion...not a bad place...just not worth the rate.

The hotel was in a great location. It was right in the middle of everything. Take the I-Ride Trolley and you can go in either direction in minutes. The rooms were a little small, the cable was less than desirable, and the safe didn't work in the room. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The hotel restaurant was pricey. Unless its your last resort, go to the eateries up the street and around the corner. You'll get more bang for your buck. Overall, It was a nice hotel, reasonably quiet and very clean. I'd stay there again definetly.

We stayed in a connector room and the guests next door were very loud and disgusting. We complained the second evening after being kept awake till 2:00 am again.

stayed November 08 and we had 5 in the room which made it a bit crowded but the room and amenities were fine. Staff was fine also. We didn't eat at the hotel but there were plenty of places around there and it was very close to Universal. Kids loved the pool.

Great staff, well-maintained public areas, clean and comfortable rooms. Nice extra touches for such a reasonable price.

My husband has stayed at this hotel before a couple of years ago, so we thought we knew what we were getting. NOT!!! The first room we got was a closet. We NEVER complain. However, this time we did complain. We got a little larger room overlooking the parking lot, however, it had a queen bed, not the king we requested. We also did NOT get a wonderfully comfortable, pillowtop mattress bed. The carpet was old and looked dirty. The fixtures in the bathroom were crooked. The baseboards were worn and looked molded. Where was the wonderful service. The staff were not friendly, if you passed them, they ignored you. Maybe it's was because of the time of year (October). Also, the air conditioner sounded like a B52 was landing in the room. I guess that's why they give you ear plugs (1 set). So much for a romantic week long get away. This hotel is supposedly ranked 3 1/2 out of 5 stars, I've stayed at nicer and cheaper places. We paid $. Don't let the CD, room spray, and Disney shuttle fool you. We were not happy and won't be staying here again. Also, the back gate into the hotel was NOT secured/locked. It was open 24/7 (sometimes propped open - this is where the staff goes to smoke) so anyone could get into the hotel complex. How's that for feeling secure.

We ended up going to this hotel because our other hotel was horrendous. The manager took his time to show us the rooms and we were pleasantly pleased. Beautiful place and GREAT PRICE

The Crowne Plaza Hotel is in an ideal location to Universal Studios, The Hard Rock Cafe, the outlet malls, SeaWorld, Aquatica, and Wet-n-Wild. You can take the Trolley to all of these locations using $2.00 all day passes. The hotel provided a shuttle service to Disney World each day with pick up and return times as well. Metro West Golf will pick you up and bring you back to the Crowne Plaza if you choose to golf, which was a nice feature for my golfing husband. We went to the Sleuth Mystery Dinner Theater which was close enough for us to walk back to the hotel from after the show. We felt very safe walking around near the hotel day and night. The restaurant seemed a bit expensive to us, but the food was very good. We were on the 12th floor in the "Quiet Wing" and it was quiet and we really appreciated that since we are in our mid-fifties and were traveling without kids. The pool and workout room were both nice, although we weren't really there long enough to enjoy these ammenities personally, we checked them out and were glad they were there if we had wanted to use them. The gift shop was well supplied with many reasonably priced souvenir items, along with the staples that you may have forgotten at home. There was also a business center where I was able to use a computer to check us in for our flight the night before we left and print out our boarding passes at no additional expense. All staff were friendly and helpful. Overall we had a wonderful experience at the Crowne Plaza Universal.

Great location, clean and well appointed rooms, great views! Rooms were on the small size, but comfortable. This is a great hotel if you want a relaxing, convenient hotel right by International Drive & Universal Studios. Great amenities, superb pool and no fee parking! Shuttle service readily available andmany shops, restaurants and even a water park within walking distance!

I hemmed & hawed over this hotel choice due to the mixed reviews. I am glad that we didn't change our minds. The hotel has a great location, away from the hustle & bustle of Int'l Dr yet close enough for walking to various stores & restaurants. The valet guy was very very friendly and helpful and informative. He acted like he cared about our day. We could not praise him enough. The hotel has a shuttle bus that takes you to the park..4 times in the morning & several times in the late afternoon. Although the shuttle(s) were timely, the shuttle buses for our hotel left alot to be desired. They resembled something out of Swamp Thing! The trolley stops at the curb by the hotel. We didn't try it though, so can't comment on the service. Our room was clean, fresh smelling. It had a mini fridge, coffee maker & microwave. They also provided linen spray, relaxation cd, eye mask and wonderfully scented toiletries. The beds were COMFORTABLE. The housekeeping was good. I had a small cut on my finger and there was a tiny amount of blood on the sheets toward the foot of the bed. Housekeeping noticed and changed the sheets and one time I had ink print marks on the sheet from the many brochures. Both times housekeeping changed the sheets without me asking them to. This hotel does not offer free breakfast. We at at the onsite restaurant one night. Not realizing the portions were HUGE, we wasted food. The food was ok. Nothing to brag about. If I am going back to Universal Studios, Crowne Plaza would be my hotel of choice.
