The hotel was clean. I hated their driveway/ absolutely to many potholes. They need to fix their driveway. Too many potholes its unacceptable!

At 2 30 am we were awakend by a party in the room next door there was loud music playing smokign even though its a non smoking hotel and people coming in and out. After 3 calls to the front desk nothing was done and they said the only choice we had was to pack aup and switch rooms at 3 am. so we went to the new room and it was a cheaper room and it was 2 double beds when previously we had a king size bed. So once again we change our rooms by this time its allready 3 30 am. so by 4 am we finally got to a room where we can sleep. from managment down this hotel is the worst pplace i have ever stayed. because people were partying at 3 am we had to get up pack up and move our room. I would defenitly nto recommend this hotel to anyone.

The Staten Island Hotel had the basic comforts that are needed. The room was smaller than expected for 2 adults, 2 kids. The bathroom was tiny and made it hard for us to get ready in the morning. It would be great if the vanity was separate from the rest of the bathroom, that would be convenient. The staff was courteous. Calls to the front desk for extra towels came very fast. We asked for 4 extra pillows and they would only bring us 2 though. We were told that the room had 2 queen sized beds and they were full size. That was disappointing. Very snug quarters. The location was extremely convenient to family (only 1.5 miles) so that was a bonus. It needs more hangers for clothes placement and the clothes rack should be enclosed in a closet instead of so close to the front door. We would stay there again if needed.

Great price and location for visiting my family. Bathroom tile needs updating. A pleasant, clean, and affordable place to stay, whether remaining on the island or visiting Manhattan. It is located in a very convenient area, with restaurants, a supermarket, bank, salon all within walking distance.

I have been staying at the SIH for 1-2 nights every week for the last 8 months now on business, and the last review was a bit harsh. There are exactly 3 places to stay on SI w\\o going over one of the bridges into NJ, so the location is great, and its about half the price of the other two. The staff is very friendly once you get to know them, but they are a bit short-handed at times, but as long as your patient they have honored every request i have ever made in 8 months. I have stayed on every floor (1-9) and internet is spotty on floors 2,3,4,5, as servers are in the lobby and then even #'ered floors going up, and the server on 4 acts up. So if you need wireless internet just ask for first floor or 6 & above, they are always ver accomodating. The room was clean 98% of the time, although one of my 40 or so stays there was a major problem (but a new room was given that week w\\o question and it was the only week i ever had a problem). Room service \\ in-room ammenities are about on par for everywhere else (a little pricey but same everywhere) although the food is hit or miss, some nights its great others not-so good. also important to know that some nights visiting college sports teams occupy entire floors, just ask if there is one in town and don't stay on that floor. I made the mistake of rooming next to a men's college basketball team one week, and didnt get any sleep, otherwise never a problem. So for the money it can't be beat, No frills, but for business it was (and still is) perfect for me.

The hotel is centrally located, clean and has a friendly staff. Parking is free, unheard of in NY and handy to hotel entry.

It was easy to get to and the staff was very friendly. It was under construction and was hard to get out of the parking area. It was a nice hotel. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling. The cleaning staff was very friendly.

I wanted to alert your readers about the recent stay I had with friends at the Staten Island hotel in Staten Island, NY. To say the least, it was the worst hotel stay I?ve had in my many years of travel. I stayed with my friend, her mom and my 5-year old,.AT 2:00 AM on Saturday night, we heard the blasting of a TV in the adjoining room and called the hotel?s front desk. THey could not get anyone to open the door. THey told us we could change to a different room. (At that time we had four people in our room , including my 5-year old sleeping daughter and an elderly woman with a torn knee muscle-- with a total of 8 pieces of luggage between us, that meant moving all of that at 2:30 am??we were not up to accepting that offer at that hour of the night. The TV blasted on and off throughout the night, and more than once I rose from my bed to bang on the adjoining door in an attempt to stop the noise. The TV got louder and lower periodically throughout the early morning hours, continuing though 10 AM. At that point I called the front desk and I told them what had occurred. I was told that the manager would call me back?I never got that call?I went to the front desk only to be told no manager was on duty. What followed was a nightmare of rude calls, correspondence, and then the last call from another manager offering an apology, stating that it was good we did not accept an offer to change rooms, as that was the weekend of NYC MARATHOn and they were booked. In the end, I did a charge back on my credit. Stay away!

The price was right for the area. The rooms were kind of old and outdated, there was water damaged print falling out of the frame. No towels or water in fitness area. If you are looking for a place to sleep at a good price this is the hotel for you. It wasn't bad it wasn't great. We had two double beds and got two full size towels two hand towels and two wash cloths. Right by push expressway so it was traffic loud. Other than that for a place to sleep it suited the need.

For a family get together we stayed at the Staten Island Hotel. It's nothing fancy, but it's okay. The staff was courteous and helpful. Dinner was good, but the lounge singer was horrendous...Red jacket and all! It wasn't until the next morning that my wife and I found the biggest flaw. We were booked on the backside of the hotel and at 5am when the sun came up it shined right into our room that did not have closing curtains! If you stay, make sure you have a room with curtains, or at least stay on the front side of the hotel.

Very clean and pleasing to look at. No security that I could see and not enough handicap parking. This hotel allowed people to park in handicap spaces that didn't have permits; making it difficult for me to park. I had to walk a distance to get my luggage into the hotel.

It was very clean and had free newspapers and internet. More towels, please. If you have to stay in Staten island, this is the place to stay.

The room was well cared for and the service was excellent. The restaurant breakfast menu fit our needs perfectly. Because the focus of our visit was primarily Manhattan, the bus ride took away from our hours elsewhere.

Location. Terrible Restaurant Service. I had to track down a server at least twice. I had stay here again, but only if I had to.

Centrally located for my gravelly purpose. Front desk personnel very helpful. Comfortable and quiet. Located on a main thoroughfare with much traffic. Tricky to enter and leave location. First time since I have traveled in some time. You can recommend the Staten island hotel without any qualms.

One of two hotels available on Staten Island. Cleanliness left a lot to be desired and for the price no breakfast was included. It is old and has a captive clientele because there is only one other hotel on Staten Island. Had a problem with cigarette odors and was iffy about internet connections. Friendly staff but mediocre- to-poor facilities.

We were attending a funeral, and the staff was most helpful in finding directions in a most congested area. Kindness prevailed. Price a bit high, but in NY maybe not too bad. It was convenient to where we needed to be. The staff was extremely efficient and helpful and very kind. They were excellent in providing directions to locations we needed to be. The breakfast was good, and wait staff were pleasant.
