I went there last saturday 09/27/08, at the moment for check in everething was ok, but at the moment for my check out on sunday 09/28/08 the lady told me i`m free to go, no extra charge or anything, but the hotel charge me an extra $ *** for no reason. My trip was all ready prepaid , I call the hotel on monday 09/29/08 and i spoke with a lady, her name is Claudia, she said she didnt know that this happen ,she`s going to refund the money on my credit card but on that day, but today thursday 10/02/08 I STILL WAITING FOR MY MONEY TO BE BACK ON MY CREDIT CARD. i`M SO SAD AND UNHAPPY WITH THIS HOTEL, I NEVER EVER GO BACK AGAIN.

We were disappointed when we arrived because this hotel is advertised as on the Riverwalk, but it is a stretch to say that! There may be one angle of the building that allows a glimpse of the river, but we had to search to find it and then still aren't sure we found it! For 200 a night, we expected it to be where it was stated, but were disappointed. Another shock was that we had to pay 28 per day for parking,....pretty pricey after paying 200 a night for our room. Even a staff member said they park down the street at the Marriott where its free! And then when we checked out, we were charged for 4 days parking instead of 2 days. When we asked for a corrected bill, they said they would credit our account for the extra 2 days, but found when we returned home, our bank account for drafted for 4 days, so had to deal with that all over again! Good thing we double checked! The room and hotel was very nice, but the location was not what we expected and we felt we were at their mercy for the 28 per day parking and add on the tips everytime you take the car out and it gets very expensive. We will not stay at this hotel on our next trip, which we have scheduled for next month.

This was the most ordinary 4 diamond hotel that I have ever stayed at. That's not necessarily bad, just not anything special. Services like parking, internet, and breakfast were all extra cost, while not being anything worthy of that extra cost. The location was a fair distance from restaurants and attractions. While it was walkable, due to construction along the riverwalk, the path took you through some "questionable" neighborhoods. Again, it wasn't bad... Just not great.

It had a nice location but would have preferred closer to Riverwalk hub. The floors on our level were never clean, front desk not helpful. Nice hotel but could have been cleaner and the front desk was not very helpful (our check-in clerk was unfriendly and unhelpful and the check-out clerk caused a good bit of inconvenience with the parking situation). The hotel charges their guests $25 extra per night to park in the hotel garage (this is not the valet service - that's $30 per night).

My family came here to escape the heat while power was out in Houston. The hotel pool was so filthy we couldn't use it. Not all jets were working in the hot tub. The room was small with only two towels, and a sink that clogged up if you ran water. The bed was stiff as a board. There was an unpleasant odor in the hallways and the internet was VERY slow. Breakfast buffet served stale pastries. I would not recommend this hotel. Lot of nerve putting this in a four-star category.

Parking is 23 per day They will charge you 50 ifyou chg your reservations Walls are paper thin, you will everything being said in the adjoining room. Pretty far off the main action on the riverwalk. Nice pool and fitness center. Beds are comfortable.

It was a very nice place but the workers were not nice, took for ever to answer the phone, were rude when asked for help, but there was on bell boy that was very nice to us took his time and gave us the run down of San Antonio thank you [...] . I would not saty thier again to expensive a bottole water 3.50 each thats crazy, and the hotel is not on the River walk it is the fat toe of the River walk. Again very nice but not worth the money. La Quinta would be much better.

Very clean and quiet. The hotel staff was not very friendly. I don't remember seeing one employee smile. We thought the room was very small but other than that, the hotel is beautifully cared for. However, the staff could certainly have been friendlier. When we checked in, the hotel staff member that checked us in didn't even bother to look at us as a matter of fact she didn't even acknowledge us for the first few minutes we were standing right in front of her. Then when she did finally acknowledge us, she just kept her head down the whole time she gathered the information. Unfortunately, I don't remember seeing one staff member smile the whole time we were there. The price of parking for the hotel is outrageous! Especially with the fact that the parking garage isn't even connected to the hotel. It's inconveniently located across the street.

I do not understand wht this is rated a 3 star hotel. We arrivered 3 hrs early and they was very glad to check us in. The servive was great and theywere very helpful w th the activities on the riverwalk and places to eat. The view of the riverwalk from our room was not that great but the view from the pool on the 22 floor of san anton was awesome! If I ever get the chance to go there again that is where I will stay. Had a great time!!!!!!

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza for a weekend getaway. We had stayed at a 85 dollar Hampton Inn and Suites in Austin the night before that was a hundred times better than this. While it is located NEAR the Riverwalk, it's not located ON the riverwalk. And besides, the part of the river its closest to is the furthest from all the restaurants...But the hotel charges you almost as much as one of the hotels actually located on the river. The rooms were SMALL! The bed was not bad, but we were in bed by 1:00am...when the party crowd came in at 2:30am, you could here their WHOLE conversation in the hallway and even in their rooms. So needless to say, we did not get a great nights sleep. Our A/C didn't work, SO HOT!!! When we called to get them to fix it, NO ONE CAME--I called 5 times!! Also, the next morning I wanted to shave and realized I had forgotten my shaving cream. I called the front desk to see if they had any and they graciously said they would bring some up to me! Yeah, it never came...My advice, if your going to pay that much money(285) for one night...stay closer to the hustle and bustle of the riverwalk. Oh yeah, parking is not included in the overall price of the room(23.00) per night.

While near the River Walk it is at the end, very little traffic or restaraunts. The walk under construction, not easy to get one place to the other. Few water taxis. (The heat did not help). Personnel not concerned. Parking at $25 a night! Disappointed Orbitz recommended this hotel.

It was clean. Parking was extremely expensive and located far away from river walk. The parking was extremely expensive ($28/day) and I booked the room there because it was advertised as on the riverwalk. As it was located on the Riverwalk, it was very far from the main riverwalk area where all the restaurants, shops, etc are located. The area of the riverwalk that we had to walk to get to the main area was torn up and not passable, so we had to walk on the streets, and blocks out of our way, to get to the tourist attractions.

I was only in town for a one day meeting but had a great experience at the hotel. From the time I pulled up and had a valet attendant immediately wash my car windows to each individual staff member, the hotel was wonderful. I had stayed there six months earlier and there seemed to be a change. I was told that there was a new General Manager and key executive positions which is obviously making an impact on the way the hotel is run. I have read some of the other reviews and note those that are concerned about the distance from the action on the Riverwalk, but a group of us walked back from dinner at Mortons and found the walk to be quite enjoyable after a big meal. All in all, a hidden gem in the Crowne family!

This is our 6th time staying at this hotel and we cannot be more pleased. If you enjoy a relatively quiet location away from the river walk crowds, then this is the place to be. The river walk locations are approx. 5-6 city block away, well within walking distance. The breakfast buffet is excellent. The staff at this location are very attentive to your needs. The room and the bed were clean and comfortable. This hotel will also allow pets 50 LBS and UNDER. Highly recommend.

Check went very smoothly, overall we enjoyed the stay. Location on the riverwalk makes it convenient to restaurants and shopping and the Alamo.
