The pool was small and the hot tub was so hot that i couldnt go in it.

When we checked in, they tried to add an additional 50 pet charge, which was not disclosed when I made the prepaid reservation. Eventually, they waived it, but only after protracted discussion and after I produced the print out of my confirmation. The whole experience was very annoying as we were only there for one night to attend a family Christmas get together.

My room was very quiet. Old fashioned/dingy carpets and wall covering/paint in corridors. I resented having to pay for parking in a town that has plenty of free on-street parking nearby, which I was too tired to investigate when I arrived late. The parking was immediately added when you went in to register without en-quiring if you had parked somewhere else. One o the desk clerks was not at all knowledgeable about the immediate area around the hotel. I am an author who was in town for a book-signing at the independent bookstore which was not even a block away and he had no knowledge of it.

My sister and I stayed here in Feb./March 2008, and really enjoyed the hotel. We were indoors a lot because it was cold, but the hotel staff and services were terrific. Everyone was very friendly (Pittsfield as a city has a very comfortable small town atmosphere). We ate in the hotel several times, and the food was excellent. Servers were friendly and helpful. The room was immaculate, and the mattresses and pillows were super comfortable. Nice mountain view out of the window.Tourist info was readily available, even for non-skiers. The cleaners and maintenance people inquired if we needed anything and if we were enjoying our stay. One night I ate alone in the bar-like "Underground Pub" but received great food and very kind service, even though the table I had chosen meant a lot of extra steps for the friendly bartender and server, who both came to check on me. We hope to come back soon, bringing our families. Thank you very much.

The day befor we got there they had a ice storm. The driveway was not sanded at all. At least 4 people fell. When we booked the room with the hotel we were not told that there was a parking fee. Ok it is only 6.00 but it was a surprise when I got our bill the day we were leaving.

The room was clean and comfortable. The lobby : very impersonal. This hotel is ok, clean, but very impersonal and the common spaces are a little cheap.

This hotel has a lot to offer. Probably the nicest in the area for the price. The beds are quite comfortable! The hotel is older but is in pretty good repair. The location is perfect in downtown Pittsfield. Parking will cost an extra 6.00 per night. The breakfast buffet leaves alot to be desired. The same everyday. DRY eggs, hard or soggy french-toast and pancakes. Can't get a second cup of coffee to save your soul! Room service was never the same. The menu states a nice breakfast but be prepared. The peserves are the bottom of the line plainlabel jelly. (If they remember your toast-if they remember to even bring the butter and jelly) If you order oatmeal, that will be all you get!! The room service just doen't match with the wonderful help at the front desk. Dine in the restaurant and try the salmon. It is great!

The room was clean and very comfortable with good beds. The staff was not friendly, the restaurant was bad and overpriced. Although the rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable, the service was sub par and the restaurant had no clue what they were doing. They actually had no cream for coffee and said the hotel was out completely! They gave me cold coffee and their brunch was awful. I would not go back for this reason alone.

Whether you pay for getting newspapers or not needs a better explanation.

The bathroom in the room was clean and updated. Had to pay for parking, room smelled badly, staff was not helpful. We checked in, after a long drive, at around 10pm. The woman at the counter was not pleasant, and did not offer information on the hotel amenities (such as breakfast is served at, the pool is located on, would you like a wake-up call etc) We had requested a non-smoking room but were set up for a smoking room with 2 double beds. My husband and I requested a non-smoking room with a single bed and were told that the only non-smoking rooms available had 2 double beds. She made a big deal that it was inconvenient for her to change our room. Once in our room, it smelled vaguely, there was no directory of services that told of local dining, attractions, TV station guide, or hotel amenities. We don't recommend this hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel several time on business and I can not say enough about the staff..very friendly and professional. Also happy to see they are finally making some much needed renovation/updates. I can not wait till my next trip to see the end results. Definatly one of the nicest properties in the Berkshires.

The quietness of the floor we were on. And the indoor pool! Paying for parking and small bathrooms. My wife and I were visiting a local summer camp that she worked for in previous years to show off our new son. We now the Pittsfield area well and were very pleased to be given the Crowne Plaza as our option since it is centrally located on the 'Square' near plenty of restaurants and other businesses and some arts attractions. Our check-in was speedy with no problems. The room was extremely quiet even though there were others staying on the floor as well. We just never heard them or ran into them, plus it seems the walls are thick enough to provide plenty of soundproofing (good when bedtime is an early 8 PM). The only issues I had were a small bathroom (couldn't get close to the shower or towels without first closing the door) and having to pay for parking. (This was not made clear when I checked in.

Clean, friendly, easy to find, great beds & showers. Slow service in restaurant dining room. Overall, it was great!

Location and restaurant open until 10 pm and floor was specifically for no children and quiet hours. Wallpaper in room was peeling at several places. Well located with moderately priced restaurant. Rooms need work, but clean and staff very helpful and friendly.

Furnishings, décor. Pool area. The lobby and rooms themselves were very clean and nicely appointed. Furnishings were worn but comfortable and more elegant than utilitarian. Unfortunately a lot of that mood was ruined when leaving the hotel proper, largely for two reasons: first, the garage was very run-down with many unsecured cables dangling from the ceiling and unsightly mold on the walls and puddles of stagnant water on the floor. Second, the pool area was downright disgusting. The plants are infested with bugs and the area is generally unclean. Staff was polite but impersonal, with a rather distracted air.

The location is very good. There was nothing we disliked. This hotel is the finest in the Berkshires, certainly in Pittsfield. It is in a central location, and it is clean and attractive.

I liked the location. The room looked rather tired. In general, the hotel is great for business travelers.

My wife and I enjoyed the fitness facilities and the hot tub after a day of hiking. The restaurant was dark and dreary. My wife and I went to the Berkshires for the first time to celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary. This hotel was centrally located to the day trips we made. It was clean and quite comfortable. We were given an upgrade on the executive floor because we had requested a king size bed and that was the only one available. We enjoyed the exercise room and the hot tub at the end of the day. The only downside was the restaurant. It was really a dark and dreary pub that was just not conducive an atmosphere to regular dining. So we ate out. The restaurant did, however, make us sandwich boxes to take out when we went to Tanglewood to see the Prairie Home Companion show. Those were quite enjoyable as we sat and ate on the grass before the show. All in all, we were pleased with the hotel and its staff and would consider it again if we went back for another visit.
