Good valueShocked on entering the room to find a very dirty towel scrunched up on top of the wardrobe. We saw it straight away so it wasn't out of sight of cleaning staff (unless under 5 feet tall!). Not a great first impression but other than that the room was fine (bathroom a bit dated/tired).Primary negative observation was location. Laterooms flagged it as a city centre hotel but it was a good 15 minutes walk from the centre so we had to get taxis there and back. Once their cost is added to the bill the value becomes less good.

Room size wasn't too bad. Very poor location due to no parking and difficult to find in one way system. Heating was non existent! Leeds has a difficult one way system and this hotel is placed right in the middle of it. Having finally found it we could not park outside because of the parking restrictions. The hotel directed us to an expensive car park 400 meters from the hotel but almost a mile once the one way system was taken into account. The room was cold with poor heating. The skirting board was hanging off and the carpet needed cleaning. On check out the reception said that they were aware of the lack of heating but weren't aware of the skirting board problem. We only stayed one night here before moving to the Crown Plaza, which was extremely comfortable and has been on the four previous occasions we have stayed there.

Travelling away with work I have stay in some really bad hotels but the Crowne Plaza Leeds was fantastic! The staff are fantastic, so helpful especially Louis on reception - what a character! The food was great, and the menu was varied which was nice since I was there for 4 nights!Coupled with the fact that Leeds is such a great city this hotel is a little gem!

Getting Better under new managementExcellent welcome from Simon (first class inter personal skills) at reception who could not be more helpful re facilities and directions for onward travel. He deserves an in house reward and is a credit to the company. The hotel is still under gradual refurbishment. For value for money this hotel is still over priced

Service and front desk. All in all everything was good even though, we used the rooms for only 2 hours.

Saw only now other review which amazes me. Was in CP Leeds during week for business and was joined over the weekend by friends. Whole week great stay. Food fantastic, staff very friendly and accommodating, health Club, specially during the wekdn when the kids arrived superb. Room(s) was spacious, very clean and well maintained. A/C worked fine. Would recommend this hotel to anybody.

Good ImprovementSince last visit some 3 months ago, steps have been taken to improve decor, service and food with good results. Room 427

Great location and close to the city centre. Wonderful (although pricey) breakfast. Good business and family oriented hotel close to Leeds City centre (walk able) with excellent amenities. We stayed here at Christmas when it was mainly families with children but I am sure that it is normally a staple business hotel because of its central location. Rooms are clean, well laid out with good amenities including the all important mini-bar. The hotel has a pool and gym although I did not use it on this occasion. The staff are friendly, efficient and very attentive (God bless the Polish). I would certainly use the hotel again.

The rooms are extremely dirty and the staff is not very helpful or nice. You have to phone the reception desk a few times before they look after your request. The restaurant's food was of very low quality unfortunately and the staff was not as polite as you expect hotel staff to be. The room's air conditioning system was so horrible that it was hard to stay in our room because of the heat. I recommend that you stay away from this hotel. It is a complete waste of money.

The hotel was great. The gym and pool were fab. Good location, just 5 mins walk to train station and shops. Bathroom was a little tired, but for the price it was excellent. The room was tidy, clean etc. parking was very reasonable priced. We would stay again.

Excellent customer serviceat all levels of staff. Bathroom needed some repairs/upgrades (cracked sink). Outside of the noisy and confusing-to-navigate town center area (with all its one way roads; even taxi drivers got lost in it), a short/medium walk from train station. Was impressed with the staff's customer service, from the desk clerk to the bartender who always remembered my previous order, to the housekeeping staff who made it their business to provide the best service to our room even though we were often in and out at strange times of day.

Very clean with helpful staff although room was too warm. Air con wasn't very useful and window did not open! Other than that, happy!

It had all the amenities. Pretty generic -- no distinguishing features or charm.

Poor 4 Star HotelImpossible to find this hotel! Directions given on website not accurate. Room was average, disappointing for 4 star. Two double beds in room (we were couple and baby). In their defence breakfast was nice and the pool was clean.

review of mini break at crowne plazaExcellent location to city centre and very nice hotel. Accomodation was very clean and modern, swimming pool sauna and steam room very nice end to a busy day shopping.

The room was next to the lift so that's all we could hear throughout the night. The quality of the room was extremely poor, with thin duvet and thin pillows - i wouldn't stay there again.

Not good valueValue for money not given. Food good but expensive - avoid room service..Despite "attacking" mini bar and contacting reception - no access.Room "tired" and sheets smelled.

Bottom of the pileFor a modern building, the rooms are outdated, look old .seems that carpets and bathrooms have not be changed or cleaned properly for months. I have stayed at Holiday Inn Express less then 1 mile away which has better accomodation, beds and cleanliness.

Great location for centre of LeedsFacilities (gym, pool) good, staff always helpfulRoom fine - use hotel car park if staying for a week-end and walk/bus whenever possible - thus avoiding the migraine-inducing one-way system in Leeds !
