Cannot imagine who gave this hotel five stars status – three at the most! When we booked the rooms on the internet we have asked specifically for the lower floor and air-conditioning because we had two years old baby with us and 84 years old lady in our group. Guess what? We’ve gotten all rooms on the 15th floor, no air conditioning, with the construction going on our floor and all the floors beneath and above us. The insulation between the rooms was close to zero – you can hear people talking two rooms down the hall not mentioning the rooms next to yours. Doors slumming all night long and drilling the walls from eight in the morning was just too much. The windows were out on the main street and the noise from passing cars was impossible to bear especially at night time. When we went to complain to the front desk one young girl was nice but not very helpful. Then came an older guy to help her deal with stubborn tourists and he was very obnoxious and rude. For 280$ per night we could have find something better than that. Next time we will always read the reviews.

Courteous, friendly staff and well located situate on a hill looking eastward toward Jerusalem with great views. Renovation is long past due. Main restaurant is currently being reconstructed and dust is all over the place. Remodeling and refurbishment should have started five years ago. Carpets are shop-worn. Repair and maintenance have not been to the standards of a four star operation. Windows and mirrors are quite dusty and dingy. It appears as though owners of this franchise operation maximized on the depreciation schedule and are now trying to play catch-up in the execution required to keep status and performance required with a world-class 55 year-old hospitality brand known as Holiday Inn. If the place is not dramatically improved in the next two years, I would void the franchise agreement if I were Holiday Inn.

Their website is deceiving. The rooms looked nothing like what was advertised - not even close. There are no robes. Our first room was dirty and very old looking- on the 3rd floor. The toilet didn't work, and the first morning our power tripped off because the water heater for coffee (instant) blew out the circuit breaker. The air conditioning would not turn down - 64 degrees! We had a view of the back parking lot where the dumpster was. We asked to be moved and at first was told that is what we paid for. We were with a tour group of 35 people and some were on higher floors with good views. I discussed this with the man at the desk and he finally agreed to move us to the 12th floor. It was a better room but much smaller. This room wouldn't cool down much. We went from one extreme to another. I had to call for an iron and ironing board. The first iron did not work, the second did. Couldn't get it to steam though, but didn't call for another one. We did use their laundry service (expensive!) and the clothes came back nice. The rooms are not very well sound proof. You can hear people talking in the halls and sounds from your neighbors. The dining experience was the best part of staying here. The lady that ran the book store in the front was a real pleasure to meet and talk to. In fact all the shop personnel that we visited in the hotel were wonderful. It didn't matter if we bought or not, they were kind. If we ever go back to Israel we will not stay here again just based on the rooms. It was just okay.

It's a short taxi ride to Ben Yehuda, and located in a nice area. It is restful and the rooms are consistently clean and well decorated. The coffee lounge/bar is terrific.

Nothing. Dirty, dilapidated room. The staff could not have been less welcoming if I were staying there for free. Just showing up a the lobby restaurant we always had the feeling that the staff hated their job and resented having to serve us. Our room was maintained poorer and poorer as our stay went on.

They list robes, ironing boards & irons in all rooms. There were none. We asked for a non-smoking room which we didn't get. I was in room #532. The bathroom sink was only cleaned once because I went to the front desk to complain. They would take our wash clothes and not replace them until I called or went to the front desk. I am concerned about the security . I can't replace these things without another expensive trip to Israel. This was my first stay there and will probably be my last.

Nothing. Surly staff and dirty, horrible rooms. The staff could not have been less interested in having patrons if it were free. Just ordering coffee was too much effort for them, let alone ordering anything else! The room was shabby and supplies were not replenished. Horrible television choices and terrible, uncomfortable bedding and pillows. I would recommend staying anywhere else in Jerusalem than here.
